Walton County Improvement Projects
WALTON COUNTY, Fl. (WDHN) – Walton County Public Works announces updates on several ongoing and newly completed infrastructure projects designed to enhance the quality and safety of roadways and drainage systems.
The bulk of the Harrison Road Paving Project is now complete as the bridge team works to lay sod and finish driveway installations. The stabilization crew is cleaning up the property that served as a lay-down yard for the project. With this development, the focus now shifts towards addressing maintenance patches throughout the county.
A new drainage project is ongoing on Beech and Alice Drive, located off South Norwood Road. A new drainage project will soon be coming to Karli Court as well. These projects are to improve water management and prevent potential flooding issues.

For a tornado warning, the city said the sirens would emit a single pitch–a long, steady tone that lasts for three minutes. The city's outdoor warning sirens became fully operational in August 2024. 1:20 a.m Radar shows the tornado lifted debris. KXAN is working to gather more information about the impact. The Tornado Warning was canceled around 1:18 a.m. 1:11 a.m. The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for southern Hays County early Thursday morning. Pele continues to dazzle with eight hour volcanic episode
VOLCANO, Hawaii (KHON2) — The 25th episode of the Halemaʻumaʻu eruption at Kīlauea ended after about eight hours of continuous fountaining on June 11. The eruptive activity was first detected shortly before noon at the north vent, with the activity stopping at approximately 7:36 p.m. The south vent saw an eruption that began at around 1:30 p.m., and stopped shortly after 8 p.m. Kilauea Ep. 23: Pele shoots lava fountains over 1,000 feet North vent fountains reached over 1,000 feet in the air during the episode.
