Sector 89 is Gurugram's Hottest Property Destination in 2025

In the ever-expanding real estate landscape of Gurugram, Sector 89 is fast emerging as a future-ready destination that offers the perfect blend of urban convenience, infrastructure growth, and investment potential. Tucked within the citys evolving sectors, this locality is being quietly transformed into a hub of modern living and long-term promise.
Sector 89, Gurugram: A Rising Star in the New Urban Core
Poised at the Heart of Connectivity
One of Sector 89′s greatest strengths lies in its strategic location. Flanked by major thoroughfares, including the NH-48 and NH-352W, and located parallel to the Dwarka Expressway, the sector is at the crossroads of some of Gurugram's most important infrastructure networks. The presence of the Multi Utility Corridor (MUC) ensures quick access to neighboring business and residential districts, reducing travel time and boosting daily convenience.
It's this web of connectivity that places Sector 89 just 15 minutes from IMT Manesar and within easy reach of key employment zones like DLF Corporate Greens, making it a preferred choice for working professionals and families alike.
'Sector 89 has transformed significantly over the past few years, and its strategic location places it right at the center of Gurugram's next phase of development. What makes it stand out is the seamless connectivity it offers-not just to employment hubs and industrial zones, but also to upcoming social infrastructure. This combination of accessibility, affordability, and future potential is what today's homebuyers and investors are truly looking for. We are seeing a rising interest from families seeking long-term stability and professionals who want to stay close to their workplaces without compromising on lifestyle,' said Mr. Vikas Garg, Joint Managing Director, Ganga Realty.
An Investment Hotspot in the Making
Sector 89 is part of Gurugram's new growth blueprint-an area set to witness significant infrastructure development, real estate activity, and civic upgrades. As Gurugram expands outward, the focus is shifting to well-planned sectors like this, where plotted developments, low-rise floors, and integrated communities are set to redefine suburban living.
With land parcels still available and property prices currently in the appreciation phase, Sector 89 offers strong potential for capital growth and rental returns in the years to come. Real estate experts consider it one of the most promising sectors for both end-users and long-term investors.
'The demand in Sector 89 is being fueled by a strong desire among today's buyers to live in well-planned neighborhoods that offer both peace of mind and modern conveniences. This sector is attracting attention not just because of its current infrastructure but also due to the clear roadmap for future development. Whether it's the presence of wide arterial roads, the proximity to expressways, or the planning of educational and lifestyle amenities – all indicators suggest that Sector 89 is poised to become a cornerstone in Gurugram's urban evolution. It represents a new wave of growth where development meets thoughtful planning,' said Mr. Neeraj K Mishra, Executive Director, Ganga Realty.
Promising Social Infrastructure
The foundation for quality living is being laid with proposed educational institutions, healthcare facilities, retail outlets, and lifestyle amenities planned in and around the area. Several upcoming developments in adjacent sectors are also expected to bring shopping centers, entertainment zones, and recreational parks that will further elevate the lifestyle quotient.
Future-Ready Urban Design
Sector 89 is expected to benefit from a new generation of urban planning that prioritizes sustainability, organized layouts, and better civic amenities. Wide roads, drainage systems, power and water supply upgrades, and planned public transport links are on the horizon, making it one of the few sectors where development is being shaped with long-term vision in mind.
Conclusion
Whether youre a homebuyer looking for a peaceful yet connected neighborhood, or an investor scouting the next growth corridor in NCR, Sector 89, Gurugram offers an unbeatable value proposition. As infrastructure advances and urban planning unfolds, this sector is set to be a beacon of balanced, modern, and aspirational living in the coming decade.

Tamil Nadu sees drop in microfinance gross loan portfolio in fiscal 2025

The Gross Loan Portfolio (GLP) of the microfinance industry in Tamil Nadu has declined in fiscal 2025, influenced by anticipated ordinances and increased regulatory intervention on collection practices, according to CRIF High Mark, a credit bureau. According to data from CRIF, the GLP in Tamil Nadu declined by 19.6% to ₹46,800 crore in fiscal 2025, from ₹58,200 crore in fiscal 2024. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the GLP fell 7.7%, from ₹50,700 crore. Tamil Nadu (-7.7%, quarter-on-quarter basis), followed by Karnataka (-7.0% quarter-on-quarter basis), recorded steep GLP decline. State-level data revealed notable contractions in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka portfolios, influenced by anticipated ordinances and increased regulatory intervention on collection practices, the credit bureau said. Overall, the microfinance industry's GLP stood at ₹381.2K crore as of March 2025, marking a 2.6% decline quarter-on-quarter and a 13.9% drop year-on-year. The Tamil Nadu government has proposed to come out with a legislation aimed at fair collection and recovery practices, signalling further regulatory shifts in the sector, the further impact of which is yet to be seen, CRIF said. In April 2025, the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly passed the Tamil Nadu Money Lending (Prevention of Coercive Actions) Act, 2025. The Bill aims to protect and relieve the economically weaker and vulnerable groups and individuals from the undue hardship of coercive means of recovery of any loans by money-lending lending entities, such as microfinance institutions, money-lending agencies, and money-lending organisations. 'The fall in the gross loan portfolio was in line with the national trend. There were numerous factors involved, including the elections, impact of heatwaves and cyclones in some parts, and also over-leverage by borrowers in certain pockets affecting recoveries,' according to Jiji Mammen, executive director and CEO of Sa-Dhan, a self-regulatory organisation for the microfinance industry. The proposed Tamil Nadu legislation clearly excludes regulated entities. He claimed that with the passing of the Bill, some people in certain pockets have tried to take advantage of it by refusing to pay; however, overall, business has remained normal. Sa-Dhan has made a representation to the State government regarding the inclusion of all types of lenders under the 'coercive' clause in the Bill, which can get misrepresented. 'We have sought suitable amendments when the rules are framed to exclude regulated entities from the coercive clause,' he added. Aditi Singh, chief strategy officer, Satin Credit Network Ltd, which has a portfolio of ₹227 crore in Tamil Nadu, said during the initial discussions around the Bill, 'we took a cautious approach by slowing down disbursements in Tamil Nadu to evaluate the on-ground situation. However, after assessing the situation and seeing there is normalcy at the ground level, we gradually resumed business operations.'

Ajit Ranade: The success of ‘Made in China 2025' alarmed the West

An after-effect of the global financial crisis of 2008 was that by the following year, China's exports dropped by 16%. This led to widespread factory closures and mass layoffs in provinces like Guangdong. China's prosperity had been built on the large-scale export of low-cost, labour-intensive manufactured goods for three decades. The crisis exposed the vulnerability of that strategy and overdependence on Western markets. Also, China was stuck in low-end assembly roles in global supply chains, with low value addition. Undoubtedly, its economic reforms from 1978 onwards made it possible for 300 million workers to move from rural and agricultural livelihoods to higher paying industrial and urban jobs. But 2008 was a rude reminder of several weaknesses. Real wages had not grown much. As a result, consumption spending was stuck at just 35% of GDP even as late as 2009. Domestic demand could not pick up the slack caused by falling external demand. Also Read: Kaushik Basu: Redefine prosperity; GDP tunnel-vision could prove costly In 2009, Chinese policymakers responded with a 4 trillion renminbi stimulus, with big spending on infrastructure. This restored growth to 10% next year, but also led to industrial overcapacity in sectors like steel and cement, and reinforced the dominance of state-led investment. Consumption was not picking up even as deflationary pressures were building, while state-owned enterprises were struggling, plagued by overcapacity. This in turn caused a debt explosion. China's debt has grown from 150% of GDP in 2008 to about 280% now. A real estate over-build-up made a crisis in this sector imminent, as was later demonstrated by the fall of Evergrande. This was the backdrop to Beijing's launch of 'Made in China 2025' (MIC25) ten years ago. By 2013, the new regime under President Xi Jinping had recognized the need for supply-side reforms by cutting overcapacity, addressing the consumption-export imbalance and reviving industrial growth with innovation and value addition. Also Read: China began de-risking its economy well before Trump's trade fury Partly inspired by Germany's Industrie 4.0, MIC25 aimed to upgrade Chinese manufacturing to high value addition and less dependence on foreign technology. It also aimed for technological self-sufficiency and domination of emerging high-tech sectors, and sought to promote indigenous innovation and green as well as smart manufacturing. It targeted 10 sectors, including aerospace, advanced rail-transport equipment and new energy vehicles, and aimed to raise the domestic content in high-tech industries to 70%. This industrial policy was focused on picking champions, channelling vast state subsidies, and guiding credit and support to chosen sectors from preferential government procurement. The West was unhappy, viewing MIC25 as mercantilist and violative of WTO norms as well as non-market driven. There were concerns about forced technology transfer and cyber theft. Unsurprisingly, when US President Donald Trump assumed office for his first term, he slapped punitive duties, put in export controls and investment screening. The EU followed suit in trying to decouple from China. Also Read: The time is right for a reset of India's trade ties with China Fast forward to 2025. There are now several independent assessments of MIC25. Of these, two major studies were commissioned by the American Chamber and European Chamber of Commerce. What emerges is that MIC25 has been a success and has led to a spree of backlash actions, such as this year's Trump tariffs. China now accounts for 30% of value added in global manufacturing, ahead of the US, which accounts for 16%. China's BYD dominates electric vehicles (EVs), while Huawei leapt ahead in 5G telecom and AI hardware. China is a leader in shipbuilding, batteries, solar power, turbines, drones, consumer electronics and pharmaceutical ingredients. DeepSeek's AI leap was a wake-up call to those enamoured by OpenAI's ChatGPT. The recent price slash by BYD shook the global EV industry. It sells more vehicles than Tesla in the EU despite higher tariffs. China now has more robots per 10,000 workers than Germany, according to a Financial Times report. Import dependency has reduced and foreign companies are incentivized to localize production. EVs, high speed rail, industrial robots, 5G and renewable energy are China's success stories, while it faces challenges in semiconductors, aerospace and biomedicine. The FT report notes that even now, Chinese aircraft are simply 'western aircraft with Chinese metal on them." Other risks are its huge EV and solar overcapacity, apart from the global backlash of tariffs and sanctions led by US actions. Hence, MIC25 has been repositioned and folded into a broader framework called 'new quality productive forces." Also Read: How Trumpian volatility is forcing policy changes in China At the rate it is going, China's share of valued addition in manufacturing could go up to 50% in the next 5-10 years. How this Cold War 2.0, which may see the US decouple from China, plays out is anybody's guess. China is also investing in trying to win the war of narratives and perception by describing its alternate development path. But initiatives like its Belt and Road plan have only met with limited success. China also cannot ignore some core and persistent vulnerabilities, including low domestic consumption demand, an ageing demography as well as a peaking labour force, rising unemployment, slowing growth and ballooning debt. Added to this is its increased friction with the Western world and barriers denying its exports access to markets in the West. The success of MIC25 cannot hide these related risks and challenges. Grindr rolls out new in-app, live feed ‘Right Now' with disappearing posts

Gay dating app Grindr has introduced a new social media-like live feed feature called Right Now. The new feature is being rolled out to all users of the platform globally after conducting a pilot test in select markets. The Right Now feed is different from the traditional Grindr interface, which shows users a host of other users' profiles along with details such as how far away they are from the user's location. Instead, it resembles the feed on X (formerly Twitter) and shows users a stream of posts with text as well as photos, according to a report by The Verge. However, all user posts that appear in the Right Now feed disappear after an hour. The feed is currently accessible only in hour-long sessions that are free for users in certain locations, Grindr said, adding that users will soon be able to purchase more Right Not sessions as well. The Right Now feed has been designed to help people 'find exactly what they want, when they want it – without the guesswork,' according to AJ Balance, the chief product officer at Grindr. 'We built this intention-based feature based on feedback from our community so they can connect with like-minded people without wasting time on mismatched expectations,' Balance said. 'The response to our initial March launch was so strong we accelerated the global rollout ahead of schedule because it's clear people want this… well, right now,' Balance was quoted as saying. The expanded access to Right Now is part of Grindr's broader efforts to generate more revenue by rolling out new features and monetising them through in-app purchases. The company is facing financial woes with its stock price plummeting by 70 per cent since its initial public offering (IPO) in 2022. To turn things around, Grindr is betting big on AI. 'For all the new things that we build, I want them to be built as if we are an AI-native startup. If you're going to do marketing for this, great; start thinking with AI first and then go to people because that's how I think companies are going to be built moving forward and that's what we should be doing as a business as well,' Grindr's CEO George Arison was quoted as saying. He was speaking at the Wall Street Journal's Future of Everything conference last week Some of these AI features include A-List, which shows users summaries of chats in order to help them rekindle 'meaningful past connections' and pursue 'high-potential matches.' Grindr has also introduced an AI assistant named Wingman to help users draft chat responses as well as figure out dating spots and receive sex tips. The platform's AI features are reportedly powered by Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 3.7 model and Amazon Web Services' Bedrock models. While some of the features have a free trial, continued access to them requires users to sign up to the platform's monthly subscription plans.
