
Major UK retailer CANCELS pre-orders for new Nintendo Switch 2 console as angry gamers slam ‘shameful' service
A MAJOR UK retailer has been slammed by gamers after cancelling pre-orders for new Nintendo Switch 2 consoles.
Several hopeful gamers have reported receiving out of the blue emails from the retailer cancelling their pre-orders.

Game has since confirmed that they have cancelled an unspecified number of Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders.
No reason for the cancelled orders has been given by the retailer leaving hopeful customers in the dark.
Game took to social media to offer an apology to disappointed customers following a wave of online anger.
Successor to one of the best selling consoles in history the Switch 2 has been hotly anticipated for years.
The new model will be released to the public on June 5 with eager gamers pre-ordering the console.
Several gamers who placed their pre-order through Game however will be sorely disappointed on release day.
Game said in a statement on social media: "We sincerely apologise for the recent cancellation of some Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders.
"We understand how disappointing this is, especially for those who have been eagerly awaiting their order.
"We're currently working hard to reinstate as many cancelled orders as possible.
"If your order was impacted please know that we are doing everything we can and will be in touch with further updates and next steps."
The retailer sent out a slew of emails in recent days to notify hopeful customers of their cancelled orders.
A wave of fury against the retailer was launched online as upset gamers flocked to social media to complain.
Game went on to say: "Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work to resolve this. We truly appreciate your support."
Several retailers have had problems with Switch 2 pre-orders, in the US Walmart, Target and GameStop have all cancelled some pre-orders.
Further disappointment was reported when it was revealed that most retailers are no longer able to take on fresh pre-orders so close to launch day.
Smyths Toys in has stepped up amid the controversy and said that it will have a "limited" number of consoles ready for sale in store on release day.
Customers who have had their pre-orders cancelled were left outraged.
One took to social media to say: "This is why I didn't pre-order from GAME.
"They have disappointed me countless times over the last 2 years. Smyth's all the way."
Game has been contacted for comment.

'I lost my sight at 15 and want to give others hope through art'
A teenage artist who lost her sight at aged 15 says having her work displayed is a dream come true. Lilly, from Kingstanding in Birmingham, was registered blind after undergoing surgery for several health issues, including the removal of two brain found joy in painting as she recovered in hospital, after being inspired by American painter Bob Ross. Her striking Hope Within the Mountains painting will be on display in Birmingham's Victoria Square throughout June. Lily said she was "happy, excited and surprised" it was part of the Open25 exhibition. "I was waiting for it to be put up so I could come down here and see it," she said. "Even though I'm blind, I can still see part of it [because] it's so bright. I'm just shocked." The teenager wants to inspire others and spread positivity and is promoting her work on social media under the name of Hope Studioz. Asked about the name of her displayed artwork, Lily said it was chosen by her mother, Cherie. "It seems right," she said. "It was perfect. The name just sounded right for the painting." Lily's father, Graham said he hoped his daughter would now understand how good she was. "She's a 15-year-old girl who is registered blind, and yet she produces art that's good enough to go up in an exhibition," he said. "Lily wasn't born with a middle name [but] we actually gave her the name Hope because of the journey she had gone on, because she has fought and battled through life. "Regardless of what goes on, she still creates beauty and keeps going. "Hope is the inner strength that Lil has that she shares with everyone through her painting." Rail inspired landscaping plan revealed for MoD hub in Blackpool

Chipping Sodbury family bakery given King's Award for sustainability
A 100-year-old family bakery has been given a King's Award for Enterprise thanks to its sustainable House Bakery, in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, chooses its ingredients carefully, considering whether the farmer is working to increase soil biodiversity and how they are trying to make their crops nutritious. The B Corp certified business also works hard to be ethical in areas such as employment practices and waste reduction."We as a family business have quite strong values, particularly around our people and our culture, but also around sustainability," said sales director Henry Herbert. The branch in Chipping Sodbury has been there for 40 years, but the business was started in the was formerly known as Herbert's Bakery, when Mr Herbert's great-grandparents began baking. Sam Wells, Mr Herbert's uncle, grew up in Wickwar, Gloucestershire, knowing he wanted to become a baker too. "I really enjoyed baking and the whole process of making something from nothing into this beautiful product that you can then sell to people who can go home and enjoy it," he said. Mr Herbert, who is from Stroud, Gloucestershire, also baked from a young age, starting work with his uncle when he was just 11. Every week, they make 150,000 products and use 20 tonnes of the years, the family have become more and more focused on sustainability."If we're building something for the next generation, let's try and be responsible," Mr Herbert team is aiming to source 100% of its grain from organic or regeneratively farmed land by 2032.
