Speaking in a recent interview, Ganguly suggested that while there is nothing confirmed yet, he is not ruling out the possibility of coaching Team India. 'We'll see what the future holds. I'm just 50 (53), so let's see what happens. I'm open to it. We'll see where it goes,' Ganguly told PTI. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Ganguly served as BCCI president from 2019 to 2022, a period during which Indian cricket went through a challenging phase, including Virat Kohli stepping down from captaincy across all formats and other major developments. Prior to this, he was the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). He is currently the chairman of the ICC's Cricket Committee. Ganguly lauds current coach Gambhir Gautam Gambhir is the current head coach of Team India. He took over from Rahul Dravid last year. Ganguly believes that Gambhir is doing a good job. He said Gambhir had a slow start, with losses against Australia and New Zealand, but things improved after India's Champions Trophy win. 'Gautam (Gambhir) is doing a good job. He started off a little slow, losing to Australia and New Zealand, but he picked up with the Champions Trophy. This is going to be a big series (vs England),' Ganguly said. When asked about Gambhir's tactics as a coach, Ganguly said that while he hasn't seen him up close in the role, he knows Gambhir is very passionate and clear about his views. Ganguly also recalled his playing days and how Gambhir always showed respect to his senior players. 'I haven't seen him from very close in this role, but I know he is very passionate. I haven't observed his strategies closely because I haven't worked with him as a coach. He's very straightforward, he sees things clearly, and he's very open about what he feels, about the team, players, people, everything. From the outside, you can tell he's a very transparent person - what you see is what you get.' Ganguly said. 'I've played with him. He was a great guy with a lot of respect for me and the senior players. Even now, I can see he is extremely passionate about his job. I wish him all the best. He's just a year into the job, and this will be an important (England) tour. He struggled a bit in Australia, but just like everyone else, he'll learn, he'll grow, and he'll become better,' Ganguly added. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

WATCH: Sai Sudharsan's unique visualisation method during Test debut in 1st India vs England Test

B Sai Sudharsan has largely had a Test debut to forget for India against England at Headingley, after being dismissed for a four-ball duck in the first innings and then getting out for a 48-ball 30 for In a video posted by broadcasters Sony Sports Network, the Indian cricketer can be seen visualising with his helmet on. Sai Sudharsan is seen lifting the ball and raising it in front of his eyes, then he moves it sideways as his eyes track its path. Then after holding the ball in front of his eyes for a few seconds, he drops the ball. In the video, Sai Sudharsan can also be seen taking copious notes in a book while still wearing his helmet. Focus. Visualise. Execute 🧠 Great innings begin long before the first ball 💫#SonySportsNetwork #GroundTumharaJeetHamari #ENGvIND #NayaIndia #DhaakadIndia #TeamIndia — Sony Sports Network (@SonySportsNetwk) June 22, 2025 The clip earned Sai Sudharsan admiration from Commonwealth Games medallist Tejaswin Shankar who wrote on X: 'If you can't see it you can't achieve it! Beautiful behind the scenes visuals and takeaway for all aspiring athletes!' Sai Sudharsan has previously spoken about the importance of visualisation for his batting. 'In terms of preparation, I feel that the most important thing for me is visualisation and putting in hard work in practice. I try and see what the bowler is doing and then take tactical advantages from the bowler. I first try out things in the nets, whether it is possible to do it against a particular bowler. I visualise it, then I go and try it in the match,' he had said during a JioHotstar PressRoom interaction with media in the recent Indian Premier League season. Sai Sudharsan has also been caught by broadcasters spending plenty of time next to the pitch before games practising his bat swing among other things. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly reveals two star players who were a BIG headache, they were...

In this collection of pictures we shall know two star player who were a big headache for former India captain Sourav Ganguly. Let's dive in. Former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly has revealed who were the two Indian players who created the most problems for him. These players were none other than Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh. Sourav Ganguly has told how whenever any of them was dropped due to compulsion, they would come and fight asking why they were dropped? However, Dada says that they were champions and you must have such players in your team. Sourav Ganguly told PTI in an interview that I used to explain the tough decisions taken in the interest of the team to the players easily, but Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh used to create problems for them. He said, "Many times choosing one between Kumble and Harbhajan was the most difficult task. This did not happen in India. This did not happen in the subcontinent, but when you went to green pitches, where we needed an extra fast bowler, then I had to choose one between Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh." He further explained, "There have been times when both of them played together, but, yes, that was the difficult part. The person you wanted to rest was not very happy. Not at all. His first question was, why am I not playing? To be honest, you need players who will tell you, why am I not playing? These were not the players you would tell them you are not playing and they would be happy to get five days off. You wanted players in the team who would come and tell you and ask why am I not playing? These are the conditions that suit me, whether they are favourable or not." "That's their belief that they will win matches for India, win matches for India in those conditions. Anil and Harbhajan both were there. Yes. So much ability, so much self-esteem, so much pride in the performance, but I was happy because at the end of the day, I had two players who were absolute champions," said long-time captain Sourav Ganguly.
