Soho's new pasta bar is the late-night drunk food upgrade you deserve

London's food scene has just welcomed an exciting new addition and trust me - it's one you don't want to miss.
27 Old Compton Street, the all-new pasta bar in the heart of Soho, opened its doors on March 24, and it's already making waves.
Offering handmade pasta, stellar cocktails, and a laid-back, no-fuss vibe, this place delivers big on taste, speed, and affordability.
And, not to mention, it's open until 1am on weekends.

Inspired by Italy's Tavola Calda culture, 27 Old Compton Street keeps things simple - fresh pasta, homemade desserts, and expertly selected wines and cocktails.
The pasta is cooked right by the front door, so you can watch the chefs in action as you soak in the lively atmosphere.

It's walk-in only, but the quick service ensures you won't be waiting long.
I visited on a buzzing Friday night with two colleagues, and we were greeted by the friendly team, including our servers Alexandra and Sergio.

Chef Rodrigo was working his magic at the front, serving up plates of steaming, silky pasta in minutes.
To start, we shared a basket of focaccia with rosemary & sea salt (£5.50), accompanied by two expertly crafted cocktails: Vacanze Romane (£9.00) - a refreshing mix of Florente Elderflower, Melonade, Rosé, and London Essence Peach & Jasmine - and an Amalfi (£10.00), blending Limoncello, Italicus, Cinzano, and Montenegro for a zesty, aromatic kick.
The focaccia was perfectly airy with a delicious hint of garlic (Image: Poppy Huggett)
For mains, I ordered the Conchiglie 'Nduja (£12.90) but swapped the pasta for Mafalda - a move I highly recommend.
The spicy sausage, tomato, and basil sauce packed a fiery punch, perfectly clinging to the wavy ribbons of mafalda.

Tara went for the Maccheroni Vodka but swapped the pasta for Spaghetti (£10.90) - a rich, comforting blend of tomato, basil, and a kick of chili, making for the ultimate indulgence.

Alex opted for the Mushroom and Truffle Lasagne (£11.90), layered with parmesan and creamy béchamel - a decadent choice that disappeared from the plate in record time.

For dessert, we shared a portion of mini doughnuts (£5.50), dusted with sugar and served with pistachio, hazelnut, and chocolate—a sweet, nutty finale to an already stellar meal.

27 Old Compton Street is a game-changer for pasta lovers and late-night diners alike.
The handmade pasta is among the best I've had in central London, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the service is warm and efficient.

Whether you're grabbing a quick Negroni and a bowl of carbonara or settling in for a full feast, you're guaranteed quality without the wait.
So next time you find yourself in Soho, whether it's for a lunch break, a pre-theatre meal, or a drunk-night craving, make sure to swing by 27 Old Compton Street.

Everything ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE & JISOO Have Said About BLACKPINK's Upcoming Reunion

Over the past two-ish years, BLINKs have definitely missed seeing their favorite lovesick girls together. But this summer, the ladies of BLACKPINK will finally be a unit once more, with ROSÉ, LISA, JENNIE and JISOO set to return with a world tour and new music after taking time off to pursue solo projects. Though details of just how and when it would happen remained hazy for many months during their time apart, it was finally announced in February that BLACKPINK would hit the road as a band for the first time since 2022-2023's Born Pink World Tour, embarking on a run of stadium dates kicking off July 5 in Goyang, South Korea. As that first show has gotten closer, a couple of the women have also dropped hints about new music in the works, with the K-pop girl group last releasing an album — Billboard 200-topper Born Pink — in October 2022. But, despite their eagerness to get back together, the BLACKPINK members have also talked about how important it was for each of them to take time for themselves. During which, ROSÉ, LISA and JENNIE all released debut solo albums — Rosie, Alter Ego and Ruby, respectively — each climbing to the top 10 of the Billboard 200, while JISOO dropped a solo EP titled Amortage and focused on acting projects. As a result, each member has something new to bring to their group dynamic, and fans will finally get to see that in action very soon. While we wait for the big day, keep reading to see everything the foursome has said about reuniting — from getting back in the studio together to joining forces on stage again — below. In her Billboard cover story, Lisa told writer Nolan Feeney that she's basically counting down the days until she gets to work with her bandmates again. 'I can't wait,' she said at the time. 'We know each other so well and know how much energy we have to put into every single project,' she continued. 'So we want to support and say, 'You did really well!' Like, JENNIE and Rosie just released their own songs, and we're on texts, we're on FaceTime. They're like family. I'm just so happy that they're releasing something. This is what we all wanted to do, so I just wanted to say that I really do love their songs.' In a candid conversation with Apple Music 1's Zane Lowe, ROSÉ said that she felt a lot of 'pressure' on making their time apart count. 'As BLACKPINK, as mature as we are, we got together and decided, 'Let's promise ourselves a good year to be inspired,'' she explained. 'The first thing that happened was anxiety, because I was privileged to have this one year in my hands to do whatever I wanted with it, but I wanted it to be the right decision and it had to feel right …,' she continued. 'What if I don't believe in my thing? And what if I'm in a place where I'm having to do things that I don't feel like it's me?' Noting that she and her bandmates are always in touch via group chat, JENNIE told Billboard deputy editor Lyndsey Havens in her January 2025 cover story that she's 'missed the girls.' 'I've missed doing tours with them. I miss our silly moments,' she elaborated. 'I'm excited to see what everyone brings. You know, everyone took their own journey [during] this time, and I'm excited to share that with the girls. I want to say it's going to be the most powerful [versions] of ourselves that anyone has seen.' Speaking to Billboard to celebrate the release of Amortage, JISOO said that she and her bandmates were in communication about their hopes for their reunion. 'Last year, as each member focused on individual activities, we all grew a lot,' she said at the time. 'Now, as we come together for this year, I feel like we'll be able to return with an even bigger and more spectacular presence.' 'Everyone's excited about it, and we've been sharing ideas,' she added. 'We've already done a lot of preparations for this year.' In an interview with The Cut, ROSÉ laid out her band's musical plans plainly: 'We will be coming out with new music soon,' she told the publication. 'We just knew there was no reason for us to stop it, right?' the 'APT.' singer added. 'As much as we all needed some time to go out and explore and be our own people, we still have business left to do. We've got to do some more damage.' When pressed for BLACKPINK tour spoilers during an interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, JENNIE was tight-lipped. 'I can't say anything!' she said before confessing, 'There's still so much to do for us to make this happen.' 'It's coming — it's coming, guys,' added the star. In an interview with Variety, LISA revealed that she and her bandmates had been 'in the studio a few days ago,' noting, 'We're all so super excited to get back together and go on tour.' 'We really miss the BLINKs,' added the White Lotus star. 'We can't wait to see them.' Bruno Mars Beats One Of His Biggest Smashes With A Timeless Duet

Bruno Mars claims two hit songs in the United Kingdom this week, despite not having anything brand new to promote. He's not actively pushing any singles, but two of his releases that originally dropped in 2024 are proving to be among his most successful career wins – ones that the British public is far from tired of hearing. 'Die With a Smile,' his collaboration with Lady Gaga, and 'Apt.,' recorded with Blackpink singer Rosé, are not only still present on the Official Singles chart, they manage to climb, and one of them now ranks among his longest-running successes in the country to date. 'Die With a Smile' returns to the top 40 on the Official Singles chart, the ranking of the most consumed songs in the U.K. This frame marks the track's forty-first stay on the tally. As it adds one more week to its total, the duet with Gaga advances in Mars's discography. With 41 weeks spent on the Official Singles chart, 'Die With a Smile' is now the singer's third-longest-charting tune in the country. Just last frame, it was tied with 'When I Was Your Man' at 40 frames each, but now that ranking has shifted, and the piano ballad has been pushed to fourth place. 'Die With a Smile' still has a long way to go before matching Mars's two longest-charting tracks. 'Uptown Funk,' his smash with Mark Ronson, spent 76 weeks on the tally, while 'Just the Way You Are,' one of his earliest hits, racked up 66. It seems likely that 'Die With a Smile' will continue to chart for a while — perhaps several more months — but whether it will be able to match those two generation-defining singles won't be known for some time. 'Apt.' appears even higher than 'Die With a Smile' on the main songs ranking, which makes sense since it hasn't been charting for quite as long in the U.K. His Rosé collaboration has now spent 32 weeks on the Official Singles chart. With that total, the English/Korean tune is now tied as Mars's tenth-longest-running win in the U.K. It's currently matched with his own 'Billionaire,' and next week it will likely tie '24K Magic.'
