KCR extends financial assistance to Telangana martyr's family
HYDERABAD
Founder-president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao extended financial assistance for the postgraduate education in medicine to the daughter of police constable Kistaiah, a martyr, who ended his life in support of the Statehood movement to Telangana.
Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao vowed to take care of the family immediately after Mr. Kistaiah's sacrifice during the Statehood movement. Accordingly, he has extended financial assistance for the medical education (MBBS) of Kistaiah's daughter Priyanka as the girl had expressed her willingness to pursue medical course initially.
The immediate family members of Mr. Kistaiah — his wife, daughter Priyanka and son Rahul — met Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao at his Erravelly farmhouse on Sunday. After enquiring about the family's well-being, Mr. Rao handed over financial assistance to Ms. Priyanka on Sunday.
Mr. Rao expressed his happiness and extended his best wishes when Mr. Kistaiah's wife shared information that her son's marriage was also fixed recently. He assured the family that his support would always be there.

‘Enemies of Telangana': Revanth Reddy hits out at KCR family amid chaos over Kaleshwaram project
Amid ruckus over the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a scathing attack against the family of former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, accusing them of being the "true enemies" of the state. The CM said that he would present detailed facts and documents related to the Kaleshwaram Project within two days. He also ruled out the possibility of anyone from the KCR family being inducted into the Congress. "As long as I am in power, there will be no entry for KCR's family into Congress," Reddy said. He further accused Union Minister G Kishan Reddy of obstructing Telangana's development, calling him "the biggest hurdle to the state's progress." "Kishan Reddy is the biggest hurdle to Telangana's progress," Revanth Reddy said. Speaking about BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha's letter to her father, KCR, the Telangana CM labelled it a "film-style drama" for attention. Earlier, Kavitha took potshots at the leaders of her party. Without naming anyone, she said that when her father, KCR, received notices in relation to the Kaleshwaram probe, no plan of action was set up. "When KCR is given notices, there is no action plan. Instead of teaching me, tell me what is your action plan. Twitter tweets are not enough. Shouldn't we be on the ground?" Kavitha said, adding, "During the Delhi liquor policy, when I went to KCR and wanted to resign, he said that they can't face me, and that's why the case has been filed against you." The BRS MLC further criticised people in her party, labelling them "converts." "Is it okay to say there are converts? Coverts should be controlled, and KCR should be protected," Kavitha said, adding, "If BRS is weak, BJP and Congress will become strong." Meanwhile, KCR on Wednesday appeared before the PC Ghosh Commission in connection with alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project. Heavy police deployment was witnessed at Hyderabad's BRK Bhavan ahead of his appearance. Previously, BRS MLA and former Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and BJP MP Etela Rajender, who previously served as Finance Minister in the BRS government, appeared before the commission. Justice PC Ghose Commission on Tuesday issued summons to former Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), former Minister Harish Rao, and BJP MP Etela Rajender, who also served as a minister during the BRS regime, in the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). The Commission, which has been probing financial and procedural lapses in the multi-crore irrigation project, directed the three political leaders to appear for questioning in the first week of June.

Show of strength by BRS leaders, activists at BRKR Bhavan
Hyderabad: BRS leaders and activists came out in large numbers to the BRKR Bhavan in support of the party supremo K Chandrashekar Rao, who appeared for the inquiry by the Kaleshwaram Commission on Wednesday. A heavy police bandobast was in place near the BRKR Bhavan as most of the senior leaders of the party including MLAs, MLCs reached before KCR arrived at the venue. The party leaders kept waiting and some of them were seen sitting on the road near the BRKR Bhavan for about an hour. The BRS chief was in the Bhavan answering to the PC Ghose Commission for about 50 minutes. Meanwhile, talking to the media, the BRS working president KT Rama Rao said that the inquiries were diversion tactics by the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy who wanted to divert the attention of the people from the pre-poll promises made to the people. Rao said that there were 100 components in Kaleshwaram project and out of 100 components only one and that too one pillar out of 87 pillars was damaged. 'We have doubts that the miscreants of Congress might have damaged these pillars. These are conspiracies by the Congress and BJP,' said KTR. He said that the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was doing diversion politics to divert attention of the people from election promises. 'For a few days he talks about Kaleshwaram and for a few days he brings out Formula E and phone tapping issues. The party will continue to raise questions,' he said. The BRS leader said that the party president would answer all the questions. KTR questioned the logic of targeting a leader who transformed Telangana into a paddy-rich green state. 'If Kaleshwaram had been built in a foreign country, KCR would've been immortalised in global irrigation history. But in India, such monumental achievements are reduced to pawns in political vendetta,' KTR remarked. KTR called Revanth Reddy a 'petty and incompetent CM' who is more focused on vengeance than governance. 'He lacks basic understanding of cabinet functioning and has to run to Delhi even for portfolio allocations,' he said. KTR accused Revanth of deriving sadistic pleasure from targeting BRS leaders and recalled his own past involving cash-for-vote scandals. 'A man who went to jail with cash bags is now misusing power to send others to jail out of sheer revenge,' he stated, warning that such politics would only backfire on the Congress. KTR affirmed that truth would ultimately triumph. 'Lies may spread fast, but truth always prevails. If they harass KCR, the people of Telangana will respond. KCR will go down in history as the leader who gave Telangana its identity and turned it into a green land,' he concluded.

Hyderabad: After a grueling discussion with the Congress high command for two days, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy allotted portfolios to the newly inducted ministers on Wednesday night. Senior leader and Chennur MLA G Vivek Venkatswamy was given the portfolios of Labour, Employment, Training and Factories and Mining Mines and Geology. Adluri Laxman Kumar, who was elected from Dharmapuri Assembly Constituency, would look after SC, ST, Minority Welfare and Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens and Transgender Persons. Earlier, the Chief Minister was holding all welfare portfolios and also Labour and Employment. Makthal MLA Vakiti Srihari will be the Minister of Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development and Fisheries and Sports and Youth Services. An official notification was issued to this effect. The portfolios of the old ministers remain unchanged. Prior to this announcement, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who returned to Hyderabad after a three-day visit to New Delhi, had a meeting with Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and finalised the portfolios for the new ministers. News is abuzz that the three ministers will be taking charge on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister held an informal media interaction in New Delhi before taking the flight back to Hyderabad. Responding to questions, he clarified that there was no discussion in Delhi on the expansion of the state Cabinet. He maintained that the focus of the meetings with party's top brass was the issue of caste census in Karnataka, in the wake of Telangana's successful completion of the exercise. Labelling his processor K Chandrashekar Rao's family as an 'enemy' of Telangana, he affirmed that none from the family has any place in the Congress. Making sweeping comments on KCR family, he said that for as long as he was alive, none from KCR's family would get an entry into Congress. He likened the situation within the family to that of feud in the Telugu movie 'Assembly Rowdy'. He also accused BRS leaders of diverting media attention with their theatrics. Revanth Reddy expressed openness to review projects with Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, for the greater good of Telangana. While accusing Kishan Reddy of being hand-in-glove with BRS leadership, he alleged that the BJP leader had done great injustice to Telangana and was obstructing projects. He said that he has not brought a single project to the state and asked as to why Kishan Reddy has not conducted a single review with him on Telangana issues as a Cabinet minister.
