Sky News AU6 days ago

A young FIFO mining worker from the Sunshine Coast has died while on holiday at a popular tourist destination in Bali, as his heartbroken family now prepares to bring his body home.
Byron 'Bizza' Haddow has been described by his family as a son and a brother who was living his life to the fullest and working away before tragedy struck.
The young man died in Legian, Bali on May 28 during a trip, with the cause of death not yet known.
Mr Haddow's father wrote on social media his family is reeling from the shock of losing their son and they are "not sure" where to "look" or "think".
'As most would be waking up to the news this morning and as most would understand we are trying to comprehend and deal with the initial shock!' he wrote on Facebook.
'We ask you guys to give us time to try and get back to everyone's messages of condolences at this time Chantal, myself and family are not sure where to look, think, and how to deal with this atm please understand (sic).'
His family have also set up a GoFundMe to help with the costs of bringing their son home to the Sunshine Coast for funeral arrangements.
The plea has so far raised $25,831 surpassing their $10k goal.
'On the morning of the 26th of May we unfortunately lost Byron whilst he was on holidays in Bali. A son, brother, and friend to many taken way too soon,' a post on the GoFundMe page said.
'As many of you know he was living his life to the fullest, working away, and achieving so many things.
'All donations will go towards helping bring Byron home to his family, funeral arrangements and expenses to help his family through this tough time.
"Please keep his family in your prayers and thoughts as they navigate through this difficult time. Any help is appreciated."
Before his passing, Mr Haddow posted various pictures on his social media showcasing his adventurous life on holidays and working on the mining field.
One friend remembered him for the "mischief" he made and the good times they got up to before his death.
'Rest in peace my brother from another mother you've been taken too soon,' they wrote.
'I'll always remember the good days and times we have had and the mischief we made and got up to love you always brother.'

‘Suspicious': Mum demands answers over young miner's sudden Bali death

A grieving Queensland mother is demanding answers after her 23-year-old son died suddenly in Bali under what she describes as 'suspicious' circumstances. Byron Haddow, a FIFO worker from the Sunshine Coast, died in his private villa last Monday while holidaying on the Indonesian island. As questions swirl around Haddow's sudden death, his mother, Chantal, says no one wants answers more than she does. 'We are still chasing answers as to how our fit healthy 23 yr old son wound up dead in his private villa,' she wrote on social media. 'No, it wasn't a scooter accident. No, it wasn't his first time in Bali either!' 'We believe it's suspicious and are going through the avenues to get it investigated,' she said, explaining that the process is likely to delay her son's return home as well as the release of any associated funds. Chantal has commented on friends' posts about Byron's sudden death, writing 'I'm broken' alongside crying and broken heart emojis. Rebecca Haddow Pohlner, Byron's aunt, said despite her nephew having travel insurance, 'it's going to take 6 to 8 weeks for that to come about and even then, they will find any loophole they can'.
