Five boys in Sitamarhi, Bihar, were reportedly paraded naked with garlands of slippers around their necks for allegedly stealing chocolates from a grocery shop, PTI reported, citing officials. The incident allegedly occurred on 5 June.
A video of the incident circulated on social media platforms, sparking widespread outrage. Subsequently, police arrested the shopkeeper, his son, and another villager.
'The boys' faces were also smeared with lime powder. It was alleged that the boys were beaten as well," Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Sadar) Ramkrishna told PTI.
According to the official, the victims underwent medical examinations, and counsellors are ensuring their well-being.

However, the police have not yet confirmed the recovery of any such note, but said that he had used a knife to cut his throat inside a hut near his residence. As his family members heard him scream, they rushed to the hut and saw him in a pool of blood. They took him to the district medical college with police assistance.
