A team of officials led by Rashtriya Raksha University's in-charge Director Avinash Kharel on Tuesday met Manipur
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla
at Raj Bhavan in Imphal and discussed the varsity's outreach and academic activities.
A Raj bhavan official said, "During the meeting, the Director of the Rashtriya Raksha University briefed the Governor on the university's efforts to expand academic outreach and boost enrolment among young aspirants from Manipur."
He said that the university offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programme in three main areas of study. These include Police Science and Management,
Disaster Management
and National Security, and Security and Strategic Studies.
The varsity also provides specialised courses in Cyber Security, Forensic Science, and Language Studies.
The Governor appreciated their efforts and urged continued focus on inclusive student engagement from Manipur, the official stated.
President's rule in Manipur was imposed on February 13. The state assembly, which has a tenure till 2027, has been put under suspended animation.
In Manipur, at least 258 people have been killed and over a thousand people injured in the ethnic violence between the tribal Kuki-Zo and the non-tribal Meitei people since May 3, 2023. More than 60,000 people have been displaced from their homes and villages who are staying in relief camps in different districts.
The ethnic violence between the non-tribals Meiteis and tribal Kuki-Zo broke out in the northeastern state on May 3, 2023, after a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised in the hill districts to protest the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.

Gujarat diamond trader donates jewellery worth crores to Ayodhya Ram Temple
A Gujarat diamond merchant has donated a lavish assortment of ornaments, including 11 crowns and a golden bow and arrow, to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya. According to Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) officials, the contribution includes 11 diamond-studded crowns, 30 kilograms of silver, 300 grams of gold, and rubies, along with a host of other ornate items. Dinesh Newadia, national treasurer of the VHP, revealed that the donation also features necklaces, earrings, ornamental forehead tilaks, seven bows (four large, three small) representing the brothers of the Ramayana, four quivers, three maces, and ceremonial fly whisks. "Mukesh Patel has donated 11 crowns made of diamonds, 30 kilograms of silver, 300 grams of gold, and rubies," Newadia claimed. The items were flown to Ayodhya in a special chartered aircraft. Mukesh Patel, who owns the Surat-based jewellery firm Green Lab, is well-known in the diamond trade and has previously supported religious and cultural initiatives. This latest donation, however, is among the most significant individual contributions made toward the ornamentation of the Ram Temple. The announcement comes just a day after a major milestone at the temple - the consecration of 'Raja Ram', or Lord Rama in his royal form. The ceremony included the installation of idols in eight newly constructed temples within the Ram Janmabhoomi complex and was attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This was the second major consecration ceremony at the site, following the January 22, 2024 installation of Ram Lalla, which was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The consecration ceremony has drawn large crowds to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Champat Rai, Secretary of the Ram temple trust, said that on Thursday, the temple completed the consecration ceremony of seven idols. Russian missile, drone attack across Ukraine kills 3 in capital Kyiv
Kyiv, Jun 6 (AP) Russia targeted six regions of Ukraine with 407 drones and 44 missiles in one of its largest aerial attacks of the three-year war, Ukrainian officials said Friday. The nighttime assault killed three emergency responders in the capital Kyiv, according to authorities. The barrage included ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as a mix of strike drones and decoys, Ukrainian air force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said. Ukrainian forces said they shot down about 30 of the cruise missiles and up to 200 of the drones. Ukrainian cities have come under regular bombardment since Russia invaded its neighbor in February 2022. The attacks have killed more than 12,000 civilians, according to the United Nations. 'Russia doesn`t change its stripes," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. Zelenskyy, as well as the Ukrainian Interior Ministry and the general prosecutor's office, said three emergency workers were killed in Kyiv while responding to the Russian strikes. 'They were working under fire to help people," the Interior Ministry said in a statement. Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko earlier said four people were killed.
