HOOD COUNTY, Texas - One person was killed, and five others were injured in a Hood County crash on Saturday night.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on FM 4.
A 2004 Ford Explorer pickup was traveling north on the road while a 2024 Kia Telluride was traveling south.
Texas DPS says the Explorer lost control while going around a curve and went over the double yellow lines, into the Telluride's lanes.
The Kia hit the Explorer's passenger side.
Jose Hernandez, a 19-year-old from Mineral Wells who was a passenger in the Explorer at the time of the crash, was killed. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to DPS.
Two 18-year-olds in the Explorer were taken to the hospital in Fort Worth.
Two 34-year-olds and a 2-year-old from Lubbock who were in the Telluride were also taken to hospital.
The crash is under investigation.

2 dead following three-vehicle collision in Stoney Creek Sunday

A driver and passenger are dead following a three-vehicle collision in Hamilton's Stoney Creek area early Sunday, police say. Shortly after midnight, officers responded to a collision on Upper Centennial Parkway between Mud Street E. and Green Mountain Road, Hamilton Police Service said in a news release Sunday. According to police, a Ford pick-up truck travelling south collided with a Chevrolet pick-up truck also going south. The driver of the Ford then struck a Kia travelling north head-on. The Kia's driver and passenger were pronounced dead on the scene. The Ford driver went to hospital with "non-life threatening injuries" while the Chevrolet driver was uninjured, police said. Early Sunday, police said the road would be closed for several hours while they investigated. By about 9:50 a.m., it re-opened. The police's collision reconstruction team ask any witnesses to come forward, and request that people with dashcam or security-camera footage share that with them.
