Real estate giant DLF aims to launch Mumbai project by next quarter

DLF will officially launch its Mumbai housing project in the next quarter as the company has received the RERA approval a day before, while the real estate major sold out all 1,164 units in its luxury residential project Privana North securing Rs 11,000 crore revenue, DLF Homes joint managing director and chief business officer Aakash Ohri told Business Standard.
About 25 per cent of the purchases have come from non-resident Indians (NRIs) and overseas buyers from Canada, Australia, and Jakarta, he added.
Located in Gurugram's Sectors 76 and 77, the 17.7-acre project includes six residential towers rising up to stilt plus 50 storeys, which are DLF's tallest buildings to date. The project includes 1,152 4-BHK units and twelve penthouses.
According to people in the know, the average ticket price per unit stood at around Rs 9.5 crore, while all penthouses were priced at around Rs 25 crore each.
Attributing India's geopolitical stability versus global instability as a factor contributing to this growth, he said that NRIs today are investing in properties with DLF, which are almost commensurate to the lifestyles that they have been living in whichever country they are.
'It is no more just an investment as they want home away from home, especially in their country of birth or even for their family,' he added.
Speaking in an analyst call last month Ohri had said that there has been a sizable demand for both its upcoming products, in Privana and Mumbai, from local micro markets as well as from the rest of the country as well as non-resident Indians (NRIs).
'DLF products are agnostic to geography in terms of investors. So today, one is looking at various sets of people who are wanting to pick up a DLF home as not only do they make money in capital appreciation, but once you lease them out, you have recurring income also,' he had added.
The company has been witnessing an uptick in NRI investments for its luxury and ultra luxury products over the years.
In the financial year 2022-23 (FY23), DLF generated $240 million in sales from NRI investors, representing approximately 14 per cent of total sales. This number increased to $408 million in FY24 and $421 million in FY25
This project is the third phase within DLF's 116 acre integrated Privana project, following its launches of Privana South and West in 2024, which included 795 and 1,113 units respectively.
In these projects, NRI buyers accounted for 25 per cent and 27.8 per cent of the total sales in DLF Privana South and Privana West respectively, according to numbers shared by the company.
Commenting on the sell out of Privana North, Ohri said that the strong sales response reflects a clear, latent demand for DLF offerings, driven by the success of our past projects.
The Privana project is located along the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) in Gurugram, which is being touted as an upcoming micro market within Delhi NCR.
DLF's aggressive push in Gurugram comes even as it is planning to launch residential projects with an estimated sales potential of Rs 73,900 crore in the medium term, according to the company's investor presentation.
According to a report by real estate consultancy firm Anarock, SPR is a key micro market within Gurugram's real estate landscape, spanning from the juncture of Gurugram-Faridabad Road near Sector 58 to its convergence with NH-48 in the vicinity of Sector 74A.

One lucky Irish ticket wins Rs 2,200 crore jackpot — nation's biggest ever lottery victory

Someone in Ireland just hit the kind of jackpot that makes fairy tales feel underwhelming. A single ticket-holder has bagged the entire £208 million EuroMillions prize that's Rs 2,184 crore instantly turning their wallet heavier than most small nations' GDPs. The Irish National Lottery confirmed the massive win on Tuesday night and urged players to double-check their tickets. The prize had been sitting at its cap of €250 million (around Rs 2,250 crore) for two weeks before it was finally claimed. 'We are absolutely thrilled to see this incredible and record win for an Irish EuroMillions player,' said Cian Murphy, chief executive of the Irish National Lottery, in a statement to Metro UK. 'We are advising our players to check their tickets and, if they are the winner, sign the back of the ticket, keep it safe, and contact National Lottery HQ and we will guide you through the claims process.' Murphy said the location of the winning ticket would be revealed as soon as possible, adding: 'With such a big win we have procedures to follow, but we will reveal the winning location as soon as we can. While this is a massive win, it can come as a shock to a winner and we advise them to stay calm, get independent legal and financial advice and contact us as soon as they can.' Had the jackpot been won by a UK ticket holder, they would have become the biggest EuroMillions winner in British history. The winning numbers drawn on Tuesday, June 17, were 13, 22, 23, 44, and 49, with the Lucky Stars being 03 and 05. The Millionaire Maker code for the night was XPCD66044, creating a new millionaire in the UK. While the main jackpot was claimed by one lucky individual, other players also walked away with life-changing amounts. Three people matched five numbers and one Lucky Star to win £6,287,001.20 each, which is around Rs 66 crore. Sixteen ticket holders matched five main numbers and won £16,119.10 each, or approximately Rs 16.9 lakh. Seventy-seven others matched four numbers and two Lucky Stars to win £1,043.20, which converts to roughly Rs 1.1 lakh. If there had been no jackpot winner, Friday's draw would have triggered a 'Must Be Won' event in which the prize would roll down to the next winning tier. Now that the capped jackpot has been won, the top prize for the next EuroMillions draw on Friday, June 20, will reset to £14 million, or about Rs 147 crore. Although this is Ireland's biggest win, the largest EuroMillions jackpot in history remains the €250 million (Rs 2,250 crore) claimed by an Austrian player in March 2025.

He also announced that a shopping complex will be constructed at the site of the old bus stand with government funding. The Chief Minister said that the newly inaugurated Fruit and Vegetable Market Complex at Shilaru would provide a reliable platform to local farmers and horticulturists to get fair prices for their produce, saving both time and money. He reiterated the government's commitment to providing modern and accessible marketing infrastructure for the farming community. To further benefit local fruit growers, he said that work on a Rs 26 crore winery at Parala Market would commence soon. The government would invest Rs 1,350 crore in modern medical technology and recruit doctors, nurses, and Rogi Mitras to further strengthen health services in the state. 'As I hold the Finance portfolio, I assure equal and balanced development across all regions of the state,' he said. Referring to the natural calamity in 2023, the Chief Minister said that the government acted swiftly to restore road connectivity in the apple belt to ensure timely transportation of apples and avoid losses to farmers. He also highlighted the government's efforts to introduce the Universal Carton in the first year of his government to support horticulturists. CM Sukhu said the state has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to restrict apple imports in order to safeguard the interests of local farmers. 'We are raising the voice of the farming community at every forum,' he added. The Chief Minister also informed us that the Shipki-La Pass, which borders China, has recently opened for tourists. The government is exploring the possibility of initiating the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through this route. Criticizing the previous BJP government, he said, 'They constructed buildings worth Rs1,000 crore for electoral gains, many of which now lie unused. Our focus is on judicious use of resources to make Himachal self-reliant.' Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri lauded the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhu and local MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore, both of whom have previously served as presidents of the Pradesh Congress Committee. He said that Theog has consistently elected capable leaders and holds a place of importance in the state. He credited the Chief Minister for releasing Rs 5 crore to complete the bus stand project and informed that Rs 255 crore has already been spent on the Kurpan Water Supply Scheme, with the remaining Rs 45 crore now available for its completion. He assured that pending sewerage works in Theog would also be completed soon. Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar said that both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister were fully committed to Theog's development. He recalled the significant contributions of former Minister Vidya Stokes and former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh in shaping the region. MLA and AICC Secretary Kuldeep Singh Rathore welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for releasing sufficient funds for the completion of the bus stand. He also paid tribute to Vidya Stokes and Virbhadra Singh for their visionary leadership. He remarked that development in Theog had slowed down during the past five years but had now regained momentum. He said once the Kurpan water supply scheme is completed, Theog would have sufficient drinking water. He also assured better road infrastructure in the region and reaffirmed the government's commitment to fulfilling its electoral promises. Highlighting the plight of apple growers, Rathore thanked the Chief Minister for implementing the Universal Carton system and urged him to strongly take up the issue of apple imports from the United States with the central government. 'I was the first to raise the demand for a ban on apple imports from Turkey, which supports Pakistan. Now, American apples pose a new challenge,' he said. (ANI)
