'This season has taught fans that they can dream'

Nottingham Forest have enjoyed remarkable success this season, third in the Premier League and lining up an FA quarter-final at Brighton on Saturday."If nothing else, this season has taught the fans that they can dream," BBC Sport reporter Charlie Slater told Radio Sussex's Albion Unlimited podcast."The prospect of a trip to Wembley is a huge thing for the Forest fanbase because they have barely been over the past two-and-a-half decades."The time they visited was the Championship play-off final under Steve Cooper when they won promotion. So the idea of getting to Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final is mouthwatering."The club's most recent domestic cup appearance at Wembley was back in 1992, when Brian Clough's side lost 1-0 to Manchester United in the League Cup final.Listen to the full episode of Albion Unlimited on BBC Sounds

Wrexham eye big-money target who showed true character after manager bust-up

Wrexham are reported to be eyeing a £2million move for a Championship captain, who once showed his willingness to stand up for himself after being sent on loan by a former boss Wrexham have been linked with a big-money bid to sign the captain of one of their Championship rivals. The Red Dragons are among several clubs reportedly eyeing up Blackburn Rovers man Lewis Travis. The midfielder only has one year left on his current deal at Ewood Park, with Rovers yet to open talks over fresh terms. After earning promotion from League One in April, Wrexham have now expressed an interest in securing his services, as per the Lancashire Telegraph. It's been claimed the 27-year-old would cost the Welsh side, owned by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, in the region of £2million. That figure matches the club record fee, which they paid to sign striker Sam Smith from Reading in January. Travis is understood to be one of Rovers' top earners, but Wrexham are said to be willing to offer him even higher wages. Signing the Liverpool academy graduate would signal a huge statement of intent by Reynolds and McElhenney, who have made their aim of reaching the Premier League very clear. The combative midfielder has made more than 260 appearances for Blackburn since signing his first professional contract with the club in January 2017. Travis has mostly been a regular in the team ever since, although it hasn't always been plain sailing. One of the most difficult periods in his time at Rovers came following the appointment of Jon Dahl Tomasson as head coach in June 2022. The pair initially enjoyed a positive relationship, with Tomasson rewarding Travis with the captain's armband shortly after his arrival. However, things turned sour as the player struggled for regular football during the first half of the 2023/24 campaign. In January 2024, Travis was sent out on loan to Ipswich Town for the rest of the season. Former Newcastle and AC Milan striker Tomasson claimed at the time that wanting to play in a different position was the main reason for the midfielder's move. But Travis later described the Danish head coach's comments as "unfair" and was not afraid to stand up for himself. In a show of character, he told BBC Radio Lancashire:"I found it very unfair how himself and (former director of football) Gregg Broughton came out and said I wanted to leave because I wasn't playing in the right position. "I would have had a lot more respect if they said the gaffer didn't put me in the captain's meeting or the gaffer didn't put me in the centre mid(fielder)s meeting even though there were under-23s there. I think it was a bit tough and hard to hear for him to come out and say that without me being allowed to say anything." Travis helped Ipswich to secure the club's first promotion to the Premier League in 22 years after they finished second in the Championship in 2024. He returned to Blackburn in the summer of that year, by which point Tomasson had left the club by mutual consent, later taking charge of the Swedish national side. Travis has since re-established himself as an important part of Rovers' midfield, making 38 appearances in their most recent Championship campaign. As well as Wrexham, it's also been speculated that Sheffield United could be keeping tabs on Travis' situation after previously expressing an interest in signing him last summer. Callum Osmand to Celtic transfer imminent as terms 'agreed'

The young Fulham striker is on the brink of becoming the Parkhead side's second summer signing after Kieran Tierney's return was officially confirmed this afternoon. Sky Sports claims that Osmand has completed a medical with the Scottish Premiership champions and agreed terms to join the club. Read more: Celtic will owe Fulham training compensation once the deal goes through. Osmand joined the West London outfit at just 13 years of age and signed his first professional contract with the club in the summer of 2023. Now 19, he was a regular for their under-21 side in the Premier League 2 last season, scoring 10 goals and assisting four across 17 appearances. In 73 total games for Fulham's under-18s and under-21s, he has netted 43 times. Osmand has also played four times for Wales' under-17s, scoring once. "He is much more mobile [than a traditional centre forward]," said Marco Silva of the forward last year [ "He needs more senior football in his legs to see how he can adapt, perform. He's got the profile that I like. When he has a chance, he can punish the opposition. "I can see the talent, in a position that is very difficult to play in the Premier League. Probably if you play another striker by his side … you will take the best from him. Let's hope we can help him to be ready for the Premier League."

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham after the Bundesliga giants confirmed he had joined the club in a megabucks move on Tuesday afternoon. The 19-year-old has spent the last two seasons at the Stadium of Light after joining the club from Birmingham City for a fee of £3million, playing a pivotal role as the Wearsiders made their long-awaited return to the English Premier League by beating Sheffield United 2-1 in the EFL Championship playoff final at Wembley last month. But how much will Jobe earn at Borussia Dortmund, how much has he cost them, and what are his key stats? The England under-21 midfielder is still just 19-years of age. He will not turn 20 until later this year, with his birthday coming on 23th September. Prior to his move to Sunderland, he was Birmingham City's second youngest debutant, making his senior bow at the age of just 16 years and 107 days in a FA Cup third round tie against Plymouth Argyle in January 2022. Jobe Bellingham stats and position Despite being 19, he has made a total of 144 club appearances, he has scored 15 goals and and provided five assists, with his entire season being in the EFL Championship, playing for Birmingham and - most recently - Sunderland. His preferred position is the number eight role, where he excelled last season as a box-to-box midfielder at the Stadium of Light. Jobe Bellingham Borussia Dortmund salary Bellingham's move to the Bundesliga giants will see him increase his current wages significantly. According to Capology, Jobe earns a weekly wage of £12,500 at the Stadium of Light, but this will increase to €67,308 per week (approximately £56,649) at Signal Iduna Park, before bonuses. He has signed a five-year-deal at Dortmund, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2030. Jobe Bellingham transfer - how does it compare to Jude Bellingham Multiple sources have claimed that the Sunderland midfielder gave a 'decision in principle' to join Borussia Dortmund following the conclusion of his season with Sunderland late last month, turning down a move to Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in the process. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The 19-year-old is believed to have been convinced to make the move to the Signal Iduna due to the extensive efforts from Dortmund's management team, head coach Niko Kovac, sporting director Sebastian Kehl and CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, who are reported to have met with Jobe and his family in England and Ibiza in order to outline the club's vision and ambitions for him. The fee being paid by Dortmund for Jobe Bellingham is higher than the one they paid for his brother Jude back in 2020, with the club paying Birmingham City an initial fee of £25million (€30 million). Jude was later sold for a fee of €103 million euros (£86 million) to Real Madrid, but it was reported that another €30m could be added in the form of add-ons. The fee is for Jobe is said to be around €33million upfront, with potential add-ons of €5million, bringing the potential value of the transfer to €38million, including a sell-on fee of 15%, as confirmed by the SunderlandEcho. Although this has the potential to change once the Bundesliga season starts. If he wants to pick the same number as his brother, the number 22 shirt is currently available at Dortmund. It is doubtful he will choose this number though, given Jobe's insistence that he does not want comparisons with his brother. At present, Jobe wears the number 7 shirt with Sunderland, and often sports the number 10 shirt for England's youth teams.
