I called my girl Evie as I thought it was pretty – thanks to Peppa Pig I'm terrified kids will oink at her at school
A MUM who called her daughter Evie fears children will start oinking at her in the playground - after it was revealed to be the name of Peppa Pig's new sibling.
Danielle Price, 27, gave birth to her daughter, Evie, two, on January 20, 2023, and picked the name because it was "pretty and delicate".

But on May 20, it was revealed that Mummy Pig from the popular children's cartoon had announced her newborn daughter would be called Evie too.
Initially, Danielle was thrilled by the news and thought her little girl would be made up by it too.
But once she started thinking about it, she started to fear other children might oink at Evie in the playground or call her daughter Evie Pig.
Danielle, a sales advisor, from Dromara, County Down, Ireland, said: "Initially, I was like 'oh my goodness, this is so good'.
"And when I go home, Evie is going to be thrilled when I tell her.
"After I thought about it a bit, I realised children will know this pig as Evie Pig, and what if people started calling my daughter Evie Pig or started oinking at her?
"I know that if a child were called Peppa, people would call them Peppa Pig."
Danielle said she picked the name Evie because she loved the name and thought it was "pretty".
She believes her daughter will be thrilled she shares the same name as Peppa Pig's little sister.
Danielle said: "I picked the name because I thought it was a really lovely name.
Peppa Pig set for major change as Mummy Pig announces she's pregnant with third baby & the date she is due too
"It is pretty and delicate, I just loved the name.
"I told Evie that Peppa's younger sister is going to be called Evie, and she was over the moon.
"I think she had grasped it, but I am not 100 per cent sure."
Initially, Danielle said she was happy with the news as her daughter is a Peppa Pig superfan, but having given it a bit more thought she's no longer as pleased.

She said: "At first I was flattered, I've picked a good name, and they think it is a good name too.
"As I thought that, I was like 'no no, this is not good'.
"You're telling me that I gave birth to my daughter in January 2023, and I thought 'yep, that's it, she's called Evie'.
"That is a pretty name, it is perfect for her.
"You're telling me that Mummy Pig looked at a pig and thought the same thing? I don't think so."

Danielle also fears sharing a name with a pig will bring bullying and people oinking at her daughter in the playground.
She said: "What if my child is in nursery or school, or she's just making friends at soft play and they're like 'hey, what's your name?'.
"And she's like 'Evie' and they're like 'oh, like Evie Pig?' and then she is compared to a pig for the rest of her life?
"And even worse than that, kids are nasty, what if a kid starts oinking at her for fun?"

Peppa Pig legacy
PEPPA Pig first aired in 2004 and has since been broadcast in 180 territories and translated into 40 languages.
Now it's spawned books, toys and even two theme parks, with the global Peppa empire now worth over £1billion.
Creators Neville Astley and Mark Baker admitted they were initially worried the idea would never get off the ground, and that people at first, were bored of the idea.
Astley explained: "People in the pub would ask us, 'What are you drawing?' We'd say, 'A pig, called Peppa, it's going to be big'.
'They'd lose interest and wander off."

Michelle Obama reveals she turns to Bruce Springsteen for help amid divorce rumors
Michelle Obama revealed on her podcast that she looks to Bruce Springsteen for marital advice as rumors of divorce between her and Barack have swirled in recent months. The former First Lady hosted Springsteen on the recent June 11 episode of IMO, Michelle's podcast with her brother & Craig Robinson. The two dove into a bevy of topics, including Springsteen's relationship with his father, parenting, and marriage. Michelle praised her rock star bestie for his over 30-year marriage to Patti Scialfa, a guitarist and singer-songwriter. 'You and Patti have been couple mentors for me and Barack for quite some time,' she said. Springsteen was shocked to learn that the former First Lady and President looked to him and his wife for couple advice, exclaiming, 'Whoa! Alright.' The rock legend revealed that he and his wife came from 'complicated families,' and they worked to make sure their children weren't burdened by the toxicity they endured. 'Let your sins be your own for your children. Let them have their own mistakes, just don't make my mistakes over again,' Springsteen said when discussing how he and Scialfa parented their children. 'It's rare that people don't pass their stuff on,' Michelle responded. 'And that's one of the things that I marvel at you and Patti and the work that you all have done, because you learn those lessons,' she continued. Meeting: Michelle said that she admired Bruce and his wife Patti's communication skills and that they were 'couple mentors' to her and Barack Michelle went on to praise Springsteen and Scialfa for their communication skills and admitted that she looked to them for advice on maintaining a healthy marriage. 'You got two powerful people in you and Patti, your own powerhouses in your own right,' Michelle added. The comments come as the public has speculated about the Obamas' marriage for months. The rumors began when Michelle skipped several high-profile events, including Donald Trump's inauguration and former President Jimmy Carter's funeral. Speculation only heightened when the pair weren't seen together for months and refused to publicly address their marriage. Michelle finally cryptically addressed the rumors in April on actress and activist Sophia Bush's podcast. 'That's the thing that we as women, I think we struggle with disappointing people,' Michelle said. 'I mean, so much so that this year people were, you know, they couldn't even fathom that I was making a choice for myself that they had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing.' 'That this couldn't be a grown woman just making a set of decisions for herself, right? That's what society does to us.' The couple were then seen for the first time together in six months, leaving The Lowell Hotel restaurant in New York City. Neither couple has explicitly denied the rumors, but the two have been vocal about their relationship and their love for one another. Earlier this week, Michelle posted a family photo for their youngest daughter, Sasha's, birthday. Michelle also dismissed the rumors during a podcast episode of The Diary of a CEO, telling the hosts, 'If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it.' Despite the rumors, Michelle praised her husband on her latest podcast episode as a 'tremendous father.' She said that even when Barack was president, he left the job at the door whenever he talked to his daughters to help cultivate their formative years. Springsteen has long had a relationship with the Obamas, and even hosted a podcast series with Obama in 2021 titled, Renegades: Born in the USA.

Irish Oscar-winning actor 'tipped to be next James Bond villain' as speculation for next 007 cast heats up
A much-loved Irish actor has been 'tipped as next James Bond villain' in the hotly-anticipated next instalment. Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy, 49, is currently leading the pack of odds at 9/2. The actor is well-known for his role as Thomas Shelby in BBC 's Peaky Blinders. The Oppenheimer star, who previously said he was 'too old' to play the iconic spy, could be a contender for Bond's next adversary in the popular action-packed saga. Bookmaker expert Jake Ashton said: 'The villain role in Bond movies is just as iconic as Bond himself. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'With Cillian Murphy at the height of his powers and trusted by major directors, he's a natural favourite.' Also in the running for the part are American actor Paul Giamatti (11/2), The Boogeyman star David Dastmalchian (13/2), and unlikely contender Zendaya (7/1). Despite 'usually playing the good guy' in her previous roles, the female actress told Elle in 2023 that she's ready to enter her villainous era. 'I would love to play a villain of sorts,' the 28-year-old said. 'Tap into the evil, supervillain vibes. Whatever that manifests in, I don't think necessarily in a superhero sense, I just mean in like an emotional sense. 'I feel like I usually play the good guy, so I'd like to play the bad guy.' No Time To Die saw Rami Malek stars as its lead antagonist Lyutsifer Safin, a terrorist chief and scientist driven by a desire to dismantle the criminal group SPECTRE. Before him A-lister Christoph Waltz starred as the villain in Spectre and Javier Bardem played Raoul Silva in Skyfall, an antagonist described as 'up there with the great' Bond baddies. American actor David Dastmalchian, 49, is also in the running for the part after impressing in The Dark Knight (Pictured June 2025) Zendaya, 28, has too emerged as a shock contender after expressing her want to be a villain during an interview (Pictured May 2025) After Daniel Craig's James Bond died at the end of No Time To Die, speculation has been rife as to how the next film will begin. As The Daily Mail reported, the plan is for the new Bond to be a 'straight up' reboot. Film-lovers have been patiently waiting to find out when the new 007 movie will be released since Daniel Craig finished his five film stint as the British spy with No Time To Die. The 2021 movie was the last spearheaded by Bond producer of 30 years Barbara Broccoli and her brother Michael G. Wilson after Amazon took over 'creative control' of the much-loved franchise. British fan favourites Aaron-Taylor Johnson and Henry Cavill have been linked to the role, while The White Lotus actor Theo James emerged as the latest bookies' favourite last month. Now, betting companies have released their odds for the next villain - with one unexpected household name topping the list. There is reportedly set to be no explanation of how the special agent is still alive, no multiverse of Bonds and no attempt to go back to the 1960s for a vintage Bond. Barbara Broccoli's choice for Bond was thought to be Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who was once favourite for the role, but Heyman and Pascal are likely to want to choose their own 007. Theo James currently sits at favourite for the part at 3/1, ahead of Superman actor Cavill (3/1), Taylor-Johnson (7/2) and Jack Lowden (12/1) from Mary Queen of Scots. Amazon bosses are currently said to be considering locations in which to set the much-anticipated new film, which experts predicted is likely to be released at the end of next year or in 2027.
