UN: Zionist enemy left behind destruction in Gaza that we have not seen since World War II

Saba Yemen30-01-2025

New York - Saba:
UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Housing Balakrishnan Rajagopal has said that the Zionist entity by committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, left behind destruction in the Strip that we have not seen the likes of since World War II.
Rajagopal added in a press statement Thursday that the destruction in the Gaza Strip is "unprecedented in terms of its scope, brutality and enormous impact on the Palestinians living there."
He pointed out that the Zionist enemy completely destroyed more than 80% of the homes in Gaza, "which is not similar to what happened when the German city of Dresden was destroyed."
Rajagopal explained that the Palestinians of Gaza face huge challenges, such as rescuing valuables from the rubble, removing debris and rebuilding their lives.
He stressed that "the priority in Gaza now is to provide humanitarian aid so that people can live when they return," and stressed the urgent need to access shelter in Gaza.
Rajagopal said that after the Palestinians in Gaza set up their tents and homes with the help of aid, reconstruction plans must be put into effect.
He stressed the need to remove the rubble in Gaza first, in light of the danger of unexploded ordnance.
The UN rapporteur said that "what happened in Gaza is a real genocide because it creates conditions that make life impossible and make Gaza uninhabitable."
Rajagopal added "If you make an area or a place uninhabitable for the people who live in it, this is in fact an act of genocide."
He stressed that the existence of a ceasefire agreement "does not mean that the genocide has stopped."
Rajagopal added "The genocide continues as long as Gaza is uninhabitable for its people, and as long as there are conditions that could lead to the elimination of the Palestinian people in whole or in part."

Settlers chase Palestinian shepherds in Tel Ma'in, south of Hebron, cut down about 100 olive saplings northeast of Ramallah

Ramallah/Hebron - Saba: Israeli settlers chased Palestinian shepherds on Saturday and expelled them from their lands at Tel Ma'in site in the town of Carmel, south of Hebron in the West Bank. Local Palestinian sources reported that settlers from settlements located on Palestinian land east of Yatta stormed Tel Ma'in, armed, and chased the shepherds, expelling them from their lands. In addition, last night, Israeli settlers cut down about 100 olive saplings in the Marj Sa'i plain, located between the villages of al-Mughayyir and Abu Falah, northeast of Ramallah. Local Palestinian sources reported that settlers stormed the Marj Sa'i plain and cut down more than 70 olive seedlings belonging to Wadih Khaled Alqam from the town of Turmus Ayya, and another 30 seedlings belonging to Yasser Jawdat from the village of Abu Falah. Last month, Zionist settlers carried out 356 acts of vandalism and theft of Palestinian property, affecting vast areas of land. These attacks resulted in the uprooting of 1,068 trees, including 695 olive trees, in the governorates of Hebron, Ramallah, Salfit, Tulkarm, and Nablus. Volodin: Missile production plans in Ukraine dragging Germany into conflict with Russia

Moscow - Saba: Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin announced on Saturday that missile production plans in Ukraine are increasingly pushing Germany toward conflict with Russia. Sputnik News Agency quoted Volodin as saying in a letter addressed to Bundestag President Julia Klöckner and leaders of political parties in the German parliament: "We know that the German government is planning to start missile production in Ukraine, and in doing so, it is increasingly dragging Germany into military action against Russia. You understand what this could lead to." The Russian State Duma Speaker asserted that the ruling elite in Germany is currently creating the preconditions for escalating the situation, provoking clashes between the two countries. He added: "The question is, do the German people want this or not? We don't want it, but if it happens, we are ready." The German Defense Ministry announced at the end of May, following a meeting between German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustam Umerov, that Germany and Ukraine had signed an agreement to finance the production of long-range weapons within Ukraine. It was also announced that approximately €5 billion ($5.7 billion) in military aid would be allocated to Kyiv, including the provision of air defense systems and ammunition. No precise details were disclosed regarding the type of systems or the value of the contracts. Russia had previously sent a memorandum to NATO countries regarding the flow of Western weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov emphasized that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russian forces. Lavrov previously indicated that the United States and NATO were directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, "not only by sending weapons, but also by training military personnel in Britain, Germany, Italy, and other countries." Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously asserted that the West's supply of weapons to Ukraine contradicts a settlement, does not contribute to negotiations, and will even have a negative impact.
