Normand is the third MSU transfer to land at another Division I school since MSU's 30-7 season ended in the Elite Eight. Xavier Booker committed to UCLA, and Tre Holloman plans to transfer to North Carolina State.
The Spartans on Friday got a commitment from Samford transfer Trey Fort, who joins Kaleb Glenn from Florida Atlantic as MSU's two transfer additions.

FanDuel posts betting odds to reach CFP; MSU not as much of long shot as you may think
FanDuel posts betting odds to reach CFP; MSU not as much of long shot as you may think Michigan State's odds to reach the College Football Playoff this year aren't as long as you may think. FanDuel has recently released betting odds for teams to make the College Football Playoff this upcoming season. The Spartans are in the bottom half of the Big Ten in odds compared to the rest of the league, but the actual odds are higher than I personally expected. Michigan State opened at +1800 to reach the College Football Playoff next season. I couldn't dig up last year's preseason odds for Indiana to reach the College Football Playoff but I can promise you they were longer odds than the current ones posted for Michigan State this year. Among Big Ten teams, Michigan State ranked as No. 11 for best odds to reach the College Football Playoff. Washington was right ahead of the Spartans, but by a considerable margin at +980. Right behind Michigan State was Rutgers and UCLA at +2500 and Wisconsin at +3000. A few weeks ago, I wrote about how Michigan State could be this year's Indiana and these odds only raise my thinking behind that being a possibility. I'm still not signing up for that as a likely endgame for the Spartans this fall, but these odds are at least worth considering as a long shot bet if you're into that kind of thing. Michigan State featured in Louisiana edge rusher's top five schools
It is the peak season for recruiting in the 2026 recruiting class, with every team in the country looking to build out their latest recruiting class. Michigan State is in the thick of it with another prospect they look to add in their 2026 class. Chris Addison, a native of Winnsboro, Louisiana, attending Franklin Parish High School, is a highly ranked 89-rated 3-star prospect according to 247Sports. A 6-foot-4, 230 pound edge rusher, 247Sports ranks him as the No. 39 edge rusher in the recruiting class. The Louisiana product is one of two prospects from Franklin Parish that the Spartans are in heavy pursuit of, also making a strong push for Dezyrian Ellis as a safety. Advertisement In the terms of Addison's recruitment, he is officially down to five schools, naming a top five on Wednesday. Michigan State stood alongside Arizona State, Florida State, Tulane and UCLA in the top five schools for the edge rusher. Addison has already officially visited Arizona State, and has visits scheduled to UCLA (June 6), MSU (June 13) and Tulane (June 19) on the books. There is no visit scheduled to Florida State at this time.
