Inside tragic King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss' shock final public appearance two days before his murder

Daily Maila day ago

Just days after his shocking murder, new details have surfaced about the final public appearance of King of the Hill star Jonathan Joss.
The actor was best known for voicing John Redcorn in Fox's animated series King of the Hill, and for playing Chief Ken Hoate in Parks and Recreation.
He was just 59 years old when he was shot and killed, allegedly after an altercation by a neighbor he had been feuding with, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja.
Joss already had a rough year, with his San Antonio house burning down in January, losing his home and two of his three dogs, with the final pooch still missing.
He told KSAT that he was having issues with the electricity, and he was using a propane heater to keep the house warm, though he hinted that maybe, 'somebody may have come in and did something, who knows.'
Just two days before his death, Joss also made headlines for crashing a King of the Hill panel at the ATV TV Festival in Austin, Texas, with Variety revealing new details about his uninvited appearance.
The ATX panel was meant to celebrate the show's new reboot, debuting August 4 on Hulu, with creators Mike Judge (who voices Hank Hill and Boomhauer) and Greg Daniels joined by three voice actors - Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Toby Huss (Dale Gribble) and Lauren Tom (Connie).
Variety's Michael Schneider moderated the panel, revealing it was supposed to be a 'small gathering,' which is why Joss wasn't invited to be on the panel.
Schneider added that Joss was, 'quite miffed' about his exclusion from the panel, and took matters into his own hands, leaving his seat in the audience and approaching the microphones set up for the audience Q&A, but they were not yet turned on.
When Toby Huss was speaking about writer and voice actor Johnny Hardwick, the original voice of Dale Gribble before Huss replaced him, Joss walked to the mic, as Daniels gave him an impromptu introduction as the voice of John Redcorn to the crowd.
'You were talking about Johnny, and I want to say something about him. This young man said I couldn't stand over there. I guess he didn't know that my land's already gone. He said the mic wasn't going to be used. And I'm an actor. I see a mic, I use it. I see a wrong, I make it right. I want to breathe,' Joss said.
He added, 'Our house burned down three months ago,' as Schneider recalled someone in the audience yelled out, 'Dammit Bobby!' before Joss added that his house burned down, 'Because I'm gay.'
Schneider added that the panel was 'frozen' and the audience was unclear how to react, with one panelist letting out an, 'Uh,' as Joss responded, 'What? You're doing the same thing, sir. The mind's full of emotion. And real.'
He then finally spoke about Johnny Hardwick, stating, 'Johnny, he gave you guys a character, because he is that character. He is that person.'
Judge re-introduced Joss as the voice of John Redcorn, at which point Joss walked away from the microphone and past the stage, of his own accord, with Schneider mentioning he wasn't escorted away by security.
After the panel backstage, Schneider revealed the panelists all agreed it was the 'right thing' to let him speak and not involve security, though the audience Q&A was skipped after Joss' interruption.
He called the interruption, 'jarring,' with Schneider debunking reports that he was upset because he wasn't in Season 14 (he was upset because he wasn't on the panel) and insisted security didn't stop him from speaking, like others have suggested.
Neighbors told TMZ that the city shut off the power to Joss' home because it was deemed 'unsafe and uninhabitable.'
Joss' neighbors also claimed that the house went up in flames because Joss used a BBQ pit to keep the home warm.
The actor's widow Tristan Kern de Gonzales claimed he was murdered after they were 'harassed' for two years by 'openly homophobic' individuals who 'did not accept our relationship.'
'When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress,' the South Carolina native recalled on Facebook.
'While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired. Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.'
Tristan added: 'My focus now is on protecting Jonathan's legacy and honoring the life we built together.'
Joss' neighbor Ceja was captured by law enforcement and has been booked on suspicion of murder. He is being held on $200K bond.
The report from the San Antonio Police Department obtained by DailyMail.com states Ceja uttered 'I shot him' as he was detained by arresting officers.
New details about the run-up to the violent crime have also emerged via the report, with a unnamed witness stating they drove Joss from Austin to his burned down San Antonio home around 7pm on June 1 to check his mail.
The witness said she pulled up and parked in the driveway while she waited for Joss and another witness to check the mail. Joss' husband Tristan Kern de Gonzales has claimed he was with the actor on this trip and during the murder.

American Pie star Jason Biggs admits to snorting cocaine out of a trash can

American Pie star Jason Biggs has opened up about his past battle with drugs and alcohol - which saw him doing cocaine out of a trash can. The actor, 47, admitted to going on cocaine benders in a brutally honest interview on the Well With Arielle Lorre podcast this week. He said: 'I knew when I needed to call the coke dealer because I was gonna drink too much, and how much Ambien to take or benzos to take based on how much coke I'd had so I'd come down but hopefully not die.' After shooting to fame at 19 in the American Pie franchise, Biggs boasted that he had, 'money in the bank, coke in my pocket and nobody saying no to me.' He added: 'It was [amazing] but I was also aware of crazy that was.' The actor admitted to getting so blacked out during coke and booze-fueled benders that he'd forget what he did the night before. Sharing how dark his addiction became, Biggs admitted to hiding his drug use from his wife Jenny Mollen, who he married in 2008. He added: 'I was drinking a lot by myself and using a lot by myself and not telling my wife. 'I took advantage of her... I felt like I was able to put things past her and I did,' he then admitted that he would stay up into the early hours of the morning drinking alcohol and doing coke after his wife went to bed. At his lowest point, Biggs found himself doing drugs out of a trash can. Sharing the unbelievable story, the actor said that he was up snorting cocaine at 4am while his wife slept when he decided to throw out the bag, which still had some coke in it, to make himself stop. He threw the bag inside the trash in his kitchen and tried to go to bed, only to return fifteen minutes later to dig it out and do another line. In his second attempt to discard the bag, he went outside and put it in the large trash bins out the front of his Hollywood home. He initially planned to pop an Ambien and go to sleep, but soon the temptation of another bump became too much to resist. Biggs said: 'I went outside and I climbed into the bin and got the bag of coke out and went upstairs and did another line.' Fed up with his behavior, Biggs then got into his car and drove down Sunset Boulevard until he found a random house. Rifling through their garbage, the star found a discarded Starbucks cup with some coffee left in it at the bottom. He put the bag of cocaine inside and closed the lid, before tossing the filthy cup back into the bin and leaving. Biggs drove home, but turned the car around and returned to the garbage to fish the bag of coke out of the cup so he could do another line. He said: 'I drove back home and finished the bag of coke. 'I could've just easily opened the baggie and dumped it down the toilet, but I didn't. I knew I was gonna finish that bag the moment I got it, but I kept playing this game with myself.' The father-of-two became sober in 2017 and celebrated his first year of sobriety with a touching post in 2018. At the time, he wrote: 'I first tried to get sober over 5 years ago, when the weight of my obsession with booze and drugs became too heavy for me to handle. 'Turns out this sh*t is hard. After some fits and starts, I've managed to put together one year of sobriety. I'm as proud of it as anything in my life. 'If you're struggling, know there's help. Don't be ashamed. We can do this.'

Bikini-clad Courtney Stodden devours a plant-based patty to celebrate National Veggie Burger Day

Courtney Stodden drew strong reaction while absolutely sizzling as she celebrated National Veggie Burger Day. The model, 30, devoured a plant-based patty in a sexy mesh bikini as she basked in the sunshine against a barbeque. The juicy burger was used as a prop as Courtney shared a duo of seductive photos, including one of her arching her back seductively. SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO Courtney - who is nonbinary and uses she/her and they/them pronouns interchangeably - boasted her decision to go plant-based as 'sexy AF'. 'It's National Veggie Burger Day, and we're serving plant-based realness hotter than the grill, honey,' Courtney, who often poses in swimsuits, began in the caption of the Thursday post. 'Being a woman who chooses compassion with a side of sass? That's power. That's control. That's main character energy. We're not just eating clean — we're eating consciously, seductively, and with the full force of our feminine fire. A veggie burger isn't just a patty - it's a whole damn statement. 'It's 'I don't need meat to be fierce.' It's 'Yes, I'll take the avocado, and no, I won't apologize for it.' It's juicy, messy, bold, and unapologetically good for your body and the planet. 'Whether you're rocking heels or hoodies, your choice to eat plant-based is sexy AF - because nothing's hotter than a woman who gives a damn. 'So spice up your ketchup game, and take a big, bossy bite of that veggie burger. Let the juices drip like you run the world - because, babe, you do. 'Salty. Sultry. Sustainable. For the baddies with brains, hearts, and a plant-powered bite.' The post contained two sultry bikini snaps of Courtney, and a video of the star taking a messy yet satisfying bite out of the burger. The post earned the praise from PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals), whom commented: 'Preach, vegan queen (applause and crown emojis) What a beautiful description of the fierce radiance that shines within us when we make compassionate choices. Keep on changing the world and saving animals, one veggie burger at a time (burger emoji).' 'I love my peta family,' Courtney replied. Courtney is a long-time supporter of PETA and in 2014 even served veggie hotdogs wearing a miniscule lettuce bikini in Washington, D.C. 'Going vegetarian made me feel great inside and out, and I'm eager to help PETA inspire people on Capitol Hill to give vegetarian food a try,' the starlet stated in a PETA media alert at the time. She added: 'Veggie dogs are delicious and kinder to animals, the environment, and our health than artery-clogging, meaty hot dogs are. The choice is easy to make!' Courtney drew other strong reaction even besides PETA as she had plenty of support in the comments section of the post. Another wrote: 'U make those look so out for veggie patties.'
