UAE condemns Israeli attacks on cities, villages in occupied West Bank

ABU DHABI (WAM)The United Arab Emirates has expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attacks by Israeli settlers on cities and villages in the occupied West Bank, with the most recent attack being the killing and injuring of a number of Palestinians in Kafr Malik village near Ramallah.In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) warned against the continuous attacks by settlers, and called on the Israeli government to assume full responsibility, condemn these hostile acts, and hold perpetrators accountable. The UAE reiterates that failure to act will be seen as tacit approval that will only further deepen the cycle of hatred, racism, and instability.The Ministry emphasised the necessity for concerted endeavours to halt the escalation and prevent further loss of life. The Ministry stressed the importance of providing full protection to civilians according to international law and treaties.The Ministry called on the international community to fulfil their responsibilities to end the continuous Israeli violations, and prevent fuelling the situation in the occupied Palestinian Territory and the region.
The Ministry stressed the need to support all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East to reach comprehensive and just peace, as well as end illegal practices that undermine the two-state solution.

Trump extolled Netanyahu as a "warrior" but also said in his post: "It was the United States of America that saved Israel, and now it is going to be the United States of America that saves Bibi Netanyahu." That appeared to be a reference to US involvement and support for Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear programme. It was unclear if Trump meant the US could do anything to aid Netanyahu in his legal battle. The Republican president described the case against the Israeli leader as a "witch hunt," a term Trump has frequently applied to US attempts to prosecute him. The warm words contrasted with the rare rebuke he issued on Tuesday over Israel's post-ceasefire strikes on Iran. "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I've never seen before. The biggest load that we've seen. I'm not happy with Israel," he told reporters. Iran and Israel, he added, had been fighting "so long and so hard" and didn't know what they were doing.

Israeli settlers raid West Bank town, troops kill 3 Palestinians
Dozens of Israeli settlers attacked Kafr Malik in West Bank on Wednesday, sparking a confrontation that ended with Israeli forces killing three Palestinians and wounding seven more. An Israeli military statement said dozens of Israelis set fire to property and military and police forces were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of ensuing violence that included an exchange of stone-throwing. The military statement said several Palestinians opened fire and hurled rocks at the forces, who returned the fire. Five Israeli suspects were arrested. An Israeli army officer was lightly wounded. Video footage showed at least two cars had been set ablaze. Reuters could not independently verify the video. Hussein al-Sheikh, the deputy to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, posted on X: "The government of Israel, with its behaviour and decisions, is pushing the region to explode. "We call on the international community to intervene urgently to protect our Palestinian people." Earlier on Wednesday a Palestinian boy was shot dead by the Israeli army during a raid on Al-Yamun, a West Bank town west of Jenin, the Palestinian Red Crescent said.

Israeli attacks kill at least 21 people in Gaza, medics say
Israeli gunfire and airstrikes killed at least 21 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, local health authorities said, as mediators reached out to Israel and Hamas to seek a resumption of ceasefire talks to end the war. Local health authorities said an Israeli airstrike killed at least nine people at a school housing displaced families in the Sheikh Radwan suburb in Gaza City, while another strike killed nine people near a tent encampment in Khan Younis in the south of the enclave. Three other people were killed by Israeli gunfire and dozens were wounded as crowds awaited UN aid trucks along a main route in central Gaza, medics said, the latest in a series of multiple fatalities at aid distribution points. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on Thursday's incidents. The new deaths come as Arab mediators, Egypt and Qatar, backed by the US, reached out to the warring parties in a bid to hold new ceasefire talks, but no exact time was set for a new round, according to Hamas sources. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who leads a coalition with far-right parties, insists that Hamas, which has ruled Gaza for nearly two decades, release all hostages, relinquish any role and lay down its weapons to end to the war. Hamas, in turn, has stated it would release the hostages if Israel agrees to a permanent ceasefire and withdraws from Gaza.
