Warm, humid, scattered storms

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Expect periods of showers and storms over the next several days.
Some of the storms will be strong to severe, it's just a matter of when and where storms develop. It's a trend we'll continue to follow in the Storm Center.
While an isolated shower or storm will be possible today, the best chance for the rain will hold off until later today in western South Dakota and move east overnight. Highs today will reach the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
With the scattered storms tonight, lows will fall to the 50s and 60s.
We'll put it on repeat for tomorrow. Scattered storms will develop in late afternoon and evening in western South Dakota and move east during the overnight. Highs for Father's Day will be in the 80s.
Monday will feature another round of thunderstorms, but this time they will move into central and eastern KELOLAND a little sooner than over the weekend. The scattered storms will also be strong to severe, but the outlook covers more of central and eastern KELOLAND.
Keep in mind the thicker humidity. Dew point temperatures will be in the 60s, possibily touching 70 in northwest Iowa.
The active pattern will try to calm down by the end of the 7-day forecast.

Welcome to the Daily Weather Update from FOX Weather. It's Saturday, June 14. Start your day with everything you need to know about today's weather. You can also get a quick briefing of national, regional and local weather whenever you like with the FOX Weather Update podcast. Tropical Storm Dalila is nearing its closest approach to the Mexican coastline, where increased rainfall, rough surf and gusty winds are expected over the next 48 hours. The National Hurricane Center last reported that Dalila was a minimal tropical storm, with maximum sustained winds of around 50 mph. Dalila is expected to strengthen more on Saturday, but is forecast to weaken starting Sunday evening into the workweek. As Father's Day weekend begins, much of the mid-Atlantic region is bracing for a significant weather system that could dampen any outdoor plans. The FOX Forecast Center is pinpointing the mid-Atlantic as a key area of concern, with an isolated flood threat highlighted for Virginia. Rain totals are expected to reach a widespread 1-2 inches from Pennsylvania down through Georgia, with locally higher amounts possible in stronger downpours. The festival and parade celebrating the 250th birthday of the U.s. Army could face some wet weather Saturday. According to the FOX Forecast Center's Risk Of Weather Impact (Rowi) assessment, there is a medium risk of inclement weather in the nation's capital, with showers and thunderstorms expected throughout part of the evening. The event kicks off at 9:30 am, with a low risk of weather impacts, along with temperatures in the low 70s. However, the rating on the ROWI scale increases as the day progresses. Comfortable weather for the weekend before summer-like weather returns

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Quiet weather is in the forecast for this weekend, but as we head into the upcoming work week, the chance for heat, humidity, and storms increases. We started the weekend with some cloudy skies and rain showers to the south along the state line. Because of this, we had some drizzle down towards Hillsdale and Jackson this morning with decreasing clouds as you got closer to Lansing. Today we see partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures a little cooler than where they should be only getting into the mid-70s area-wide. Clear skies stick with us tonight with temperatures into the low to mid 50s. So we have at least one more night of open windows before using the air conditioners through the upcoming work week. Temperatures warm up for Father's Day into the low 80s with mostly sunny skies. We will also start to feel the heat and humidity increase as well. Overnight lows for Sunday remain in the upper 50s. We start to feel like summer as we head into the upcoming work week with daytime highs into the low to mid 80s with dew points into the mid to upper 60s. Heading into mid-week showers and storms return for Tuesday with the best chance to see rain looking to be Wednesday. We are closely keeping an eye on the forecast for Wednesday as there is the potential for stronger storms. Keep checking back throughout the weekend and start of the work week for more information!
