Youm-e-Tashakur: Grand celebration underway at Pakistan Monument
A ceremony is being held at Islamabad's Pakistan Monument on Friday to celebrate the significant achievements of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq. The event aims to offer thanks to Almighty Allah and honor the success of Pakistan's brave armed forces.
Today, Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) is being observed nationwide to commemorate the historic victory of Ma'araka-e-Haq and pay tribute to the valiant armed forces and people of Pakistan.
The ceremony began with a Quranic recitation and is attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, service chiefs, members of the federal cabinet, foreign diplomats, the Deputy Prime Minister, and other government officials.
An aerial display by fighter jets was also part of the event, showcasing their capabilities. The performance was met with enthusiastic chants of 'Long live Pakistan' from those present.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi to inquire about the health of soldiers and civilians injured during Marka-e-Haq.

The PM's Office also stated that Sharif praised the constructive role of tribal elders in preserving national unity and emphasised the need for sustained grassroots engagement to ensure that terrorist groups remain isolated and unsupported. He further stressed that development initiatives must reach the local population to truly empower Balochistan. The statement quoted the PM as saying, 'We must ensure that the trickle-down effects of government development packages benefit every citizen. The people of Balochistan have played a historic role in safeguarding Pakistan's integrity, and we count on their continued vigilance against foreign-backed subversion.' During the interaction, Field Marshal Munir also addressed the gathering. He stated, 'This Indian-sponsored proxy war is no longer hidden—it is an open and malicious act of terrorism waged against our people, our progress, and our peace.' He emphasised that the Pakistan Army has concrete evidence of Indian involvement in the orchestration and support of terrorist networks within Balochistan, the statement maintained. 'The Pakistan Army, with the unwavering support of the nation and the brave Baloch people, will confront and crush every enemy, foreign or domestic, that dares to challenge our sovereignty,' the COAS said, according to the statement. Pakistan Express derails near Mubarakpur

Special Eid trains to ease holiday rush On the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Railways has decided to run five special trains on the occasion of Eidul Azha. Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has approved the schedule for these special trains, which will run across major cities. According to a PR spokesperson, the first Eid special train will depart from Karachi for Lahore on June 2 at 1:00 pm. The second train will operate from Quetta to Peshawar on June 3 at 10:00 am. On the same day, a third special train will depart from Lahore for Karachi at 5:00 pm. Later that evening, a fourth train will set off from Karachi for Rawalpindi at 8:00 pm, while the fifth and final Eid special train will depart from Karachi Cantt on June 4 at 5:30 pm.
