MTA worker punched through train conductor's window in NYC
MIDTOWN, Manhattan (PIX11) — Police are looking for a person who they say allegedly assaulted an MTA employee on the job just before 8 p.m. on Thursday.
The 55-year-old MTA worker was looking out of the conductor's window of a No. 5 train while it was stopped at 42 Street-Grand Central Station, authorities say. That's when he was punched in the face by an unknown man, officials report.

The man ran off while the MTA worker was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police say.
Authorities say they're looking for a man who stands about 6 feet 2 inches tall with short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Four dead in crash after Spanish police chase ram raiders
Four people were killed when a gang of suspected ram raiders crashed into oncoming traffic during a high-speed police chase on Spain's Costa del Sol on Thursday. In an attempt to evade police cars, a van carrying the three alleged thieves swerved onto the wrong side of a motorway near Torremolinos and collided with a vehicle driven by an off-duty police officer. The three suspects are believed to have died instantly. Their bodies were removed from the wreckage by firefighters. The intruders deactivated the security shutters before forcing open the front door, but did not manage to open the safe before police raced to the scene. They escaped along the A7 coastal motorway towards Marbella, with patrol cars in pursuit. After speeding along the wrong side of the road to throw off the pursuit, they crashed into the off-duty officer's car when they took an exit near Torremolinos's Palacio de Congresos conference centre. The officer's car caught fire on impact. The National Police Force and the SUP, a Spanish police officers' union, sent their condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Antonio. The interior ministry said the government was 'deeply saddened by Antonio's death'. Malaga's pharmacy association called for improved security to halt a 'crime wave' affecting chemists in the province. Shohei Ohtani thought he was ‘in trouble' before Dave Roberts gifted him a toy Porsche
The last time Shohei Ohtani thought he might be in trouble was when his name was linked to a federal investigation into illegal sports gambling in March 2024. His name was soon cleared by authorities, who charged and convicted Ohtani's interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, in federal court with surreptitiously stealing more than $17 million from the Dodgers superstar to pay off an Orange County bookmaker. Ohtani wondered if something was amiss Wednesday when manager Dave Roberts summoned him before the Dodgers' home game against the New York Mets. But not for long. Ohtani rushed into Roberts' office, saw a bright pink remote-controlled toy car on the ground and immediately started laughing. 'I have a gift for you,' Roberts told him. 'Actually, for your daughter.' 'For my daughter? OK, thank you.' Ohtani replied. 'This is from my wife [Tricia] and me to you and your family and your daughter,' Roberts said. 'So, we have jokes always. This is a little bit of a joke. It's a Porsche. This is going to be your daughter's first car.' 'Thank you, I love it,' Ohtani said. Man dies in partial roof collapse in Brooklyn: NYPD
MARINE PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A man died after a roof of a Brooklyn building partially collapsed Thursday morning, police said. The 43-year-old man was found unconscious in the debris after the storage building's roof caved in at 3223 Quentin Rd. in Marine Park at around 8:50 a.m., according to the NYPD. More Local News The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but could not be saved, police said. It was unclear what caused the incident. The two-story building with a commercial unit was under construction, according to the Office of Emergency Management. The Department of Building has issued a stop-work order. The investigation is ongoing.
