Prince Harry 'regrets royal rift' as family strain shows little signs of improving
Prince Harry has revealed he 'would love a reconiliation' with his Royal relatives.
A royal expert has shared that Prince Harry wishes 'he had done things differently' when it comes to the 'royal rift' with his relatives in the UK. However, while the Duke of Sussex recently shared that he would love to reconcile with his family, the expert doesn't see this happening any time soon.
Former royal editor Duncan Larcombe believes that the young prince is likely having regrets regarding the strained relationship between himself and his father King Charles III and older brother Prince William, but he does not think there are any signs of this currently improving.
After losing his battle with the High Court over the state security entitled to his family, Prince Harry spoke about the current relationship with King Charles. He said that his father "won't speak to me because of this security stuff."
Since speaking out, Duncan - who is the author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story - has told the Mirror that he had no doubt that Harry wishes "he'd done things differently", but their family ties still seem to be a very long way from being resolved.
He said: "Harry is a sensitive soul and always wore his heart on his sleeve, so whether he'd admit it publicly or not, I'm sure he's full of regrets and wishes he'd done things differently.
"With Trooping the Colour and Father's Day falling on the same weekend, it was bound to make him look back at the happy relationships he once had with his brother and dad, and I'm sure he'd love to be able to rebuild those."
Last month, the Duke was unable to overturn the decision that denies himself, his Meghan Markle and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, state-funded, high level security when in the UK, which is provided for senior royals.
In response to this decision, Harry said that he "couldn't see a world" where he would be able to take Meghan and his kids back to the UK.
Duncan added: "By saying he can't bring them here because of the court ruling, Harry has nailed his colours to the mast.
"Meghan is probably quite reluctant to come to the UK anyway because they'd have to be deaf, dumb and blind not to realise just how much criticism they've had for their betrayals and truth bombs. But more importantly, there are real and genuine threats."
The expert says that these threats would most likely come from "lunatics and radical protesters" who may be wanting to make a name for themselves.
Additionally, these threats wouldn't only be directed at Harry and Meghan, but also their two children who are aged six and four. He adds that this would make any trip to the UK incredibly difficult without the high level security.
"At big royal events, the security you actually see is the tip of the iceberg. There are a lot of undercover officers and agents working, too.
"Without the official support and security, Harry and Meghan are left with two or three bodyguards who are pretty blind to what the potential threats are," says Duncan.
While Meghan seems to be thriving back in the US with the launch of her As Ever lifestyle brand and Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the mum of two is still hugely worried about her nearest and dearest.
A source said: "In some ways she's feeling stronger and she wants to share that. But she's still terrified of putting her kids at risk by coming back to the UK – any parent would panic if they were in Meghan's shoes.
"So even though Harry is really feeling the absence of his dad, especially after Trooping the Colour and Father's Day, the security stuff will probably always be an issue.
"He knows that things could've been so different if things had gone another way, but it's been five years since they left the UK and the chances of them coming back, even for a visit, seem slim to none. It's heartbreaking."

Donald Trump in bizzare rant after Iranian strike on US airbase in Qatar
Donald Trump ignored a dramatic Iranian missile strike on US forces in Qatar — instead unleashing a online rant about 'sleazebags in the media'. Donald Trump launched into a bizarre rant on his Truth Social platform just hours after Iran fired missiles at a US airbase in Qatar. The US President made no mention of the attack, instead lashing out at the media in an angry monologue. As explosions were reported near Al Udeid Air Base — home to American forces — and Iran boasted of a 'successful response' to US aggression, the former President was more focused on slamming journalists and repeating conspiracy-laced grievances, reports the Mirror. He wrote: "The sites that we hit in Iran were totally destroyed, and everyone knows it. Only the Fake News would say anything different in order to try and demean, as much as possible — And even they say they were 'pretty well destroyed!' "Working especially hard on this falsehood is Allison Cooper of Fake News CNN, Dumb Brian L. Roberts, Chairman of 'Con'cast, Jonny Karl of ABC Fake News, and always, the Losers of, again, Concast's NBC Fake News. It never ends with the sleazebags in the Media, and that's why their Ratings are at an ALL TIME LOW — ZERO CREDIBILITY!" Meanwhile, witnesses in Qatar reported seeing missiles streaking across the sky, followed by blasts near the US base. Though early reports suggested no major damage, Iranian state TV aired martial music and described the strike as 'a mighty and successful response' to US actions. The attack came just hours after Qatar abruptly shut its airspace, bracing for retaliation following recent US bombings on Iran's nuclear sites, believed to have been greenlit by Trump himself. In a post on X just before the explosions, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said: "We neither initiated the war nor seeking it. But we will not leave invasion to the great Iran without answer." Following the strike, Bahrain, which houses the US Navy's 5th Fleet, also closed its airspace temporarily, in a move echoing Qatar's earlier precaution. Qatari officials condemned the missile strike on Al Udeid, claiming their defences intercepted the rockets and no casualties were reported. They added the country's skies are now considered safe. But the US later confirmed casualties as a result of the strike, though numbers remain unclear. Tehran said it deliberately targeted the base, arguing it was located away from civilian areas — a move seen by some as an attempt to avoid wider escalation. A spokesman for the Iranian military added the strike mirrored the number of bombs the US had dropped on Iran's nuclear facilities over the weekend, suggesting it was a measured retaliation. Earlier, Israel dramatically ramped up its assault on Iran, hitting key military targets in the capital Tehran, including the gate of a notorious prison that houses political prisoners and the headquarters of Iran's military repression force. As smoke filled the skies over the Iranian capital, Israel came under a fresh barrage of missiles and drones. The ongoing tit-for-tat strikes have plunged the region deeper into chaos, with civilians in both countries now living under the constant threat of incoming fire.

'Keir Starmer heads to NATO summit as Middle East teeters on the brink'
The stakes couldn't be higher for the NATO summit as the Middle East teeters on the brink. Keir Starmer travels to the Netherlands on Tuesday for what have now become crisis talks after Iran retaliated against the US bombing of its nuclear sites by targeting an American base in Qatar. With the situation on the ground changing by the minute, the Prime Minister will push for a diplomatic solution as Iran and Israel exchange fire and Donald Trump weighs up his next move. Mr Trump was scheduled to attend the NATO summit but questions were raised over whether he would pull out, after he left last week's G7 summit early as the Iran-Israel conflict intensified. The high-level gathering was carefully planned to give the US President what he wants - a headline-grabbing hike in defence spending from members of the Western defensive alliance. Mr Trump has ranted for years about European countries not paying their way, claiming the US's allies have been freeloading off American security guarantees. But the choreographed announcement to persuade Mr Trump to stand with Europe has been overshadowed by spiralling hostilities in the Middle East. The PM's focus now will be on convincing all parties to step back from the brink. He has sought to cast himself as the peacemaker, and as a bridge between Europe and the US at a time of increasingly strained relations. Follow our Mirror Politics account on Bluesky here. The PM wants to show Britain can be a leader in Europe, stepping up to defend Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelensky when Mr Trump kicked him out of the White House. Along with French President Emmanuel Macron, Mr Starmer led the push for a "coalition of the willing" to enforce a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. But in reality, the PM and others are at the mercy of the unpredictable US President.

His lies meant the woman was forced to give evidence about the brutal sex attack. Judge William Gallacher today told him: "You were someone recently in this country, properly, and with the prospect of employment. "This was a significant attack on a much younger person. "She eloquently described the effect upon her and her protests. "None of which you accepted and none of which continue to accept. "This incident persisted over a period of time and eventually resulted in injury. "It also caused significant distress and ongoing impact. "The jury rejected your position and accepted the account given by the woman together with the other evidence." The fiend's violent attack took place in June 2023. Syed, of Queen's Park, Glasgow, was put on the sex offenders register and banned from approaching or contacting the woman.
