'Dreaming really big': Edmonton Ukrainian restaurant eyes franchising as it heads to Dragons' Den
Article content
The Edmonton-born DON'YA Ukraine's Kitchen is headed to Toronto to audition for Dragons' Den in a bid to pursue a dream of franchising.
'We're dreaming really big. The reason why we're going on (Dragons' Den is our dream is to open 300 stores in the next 10 years,' said Janice Krissa, co-founder of DON'YA.
The dream is big, but then again, DON'YA has made a habit of growth from its beginnings as a donation centre for Ukrainian newcomers. Since then, it has flourished to become two fully-fledged restaurants, the first at 12153 Fort Rd. and the most recent restaurant that opened last week at 10405 Jasper Ave.
