Kai Cenat's Streamer University was a vision of a revolutionary leap in democratizing content creation—a four-day campus retreat in Akron, Ohio, gathering up and coming streamers and internet titans.
It had 17 professors, 120 students, and an audacious curriculum that mixed entertainment, business, and it was almost guaranteed to become a beacon in the influencer universe. Instead, it turned into a lightning rod for controversy. Below are 10 events that stoked the flames.
1. Favoritism in Student Selection
Even though SU marketed the program as a platform for "undiscovered talent," numerous students selected by SU were already celebrity minors within Cenat's universe.
His critics accused him of nepotism, citing the likes of Rakai (referred to as Cenat's "son") and Young Dabo. The selection process seemed more like a PR stunt than a fair-opportunity platform.

2. The Viral Rejection Call
One of the most widely discussed clips was Young Dabo being prank-called during a haircut, where a fake SU representative informed him he was being expelled for being "ugly as sh**." Though meant as humor, the clip came under fire for condoning bullying in the name of content.

Zoe Spencer
's Tearful Livestream
Zoe Spencer, a Twitch streamer who was SU rejected, cried on a livestream claiming discrimination. Her rejection, she claimed, was a personal one and not based on her streaming experience. She succeeded in appealing to the hearts of fans and creating a broader conversation about gatekeeping within the content creation space.
4. SoLLUMINATI vs. Zoe Spencer Feud
YouTuber SoLLUMINATI fanned tensions anew by publicly accusing Zoe of rejection and emasculating male streamers.
Zoe's counterevent, which was littered with personal insults and slurs, fueled the controversy and branded SU as a drama factory and not a place of mentorship.

5. S*x Education as Curriculum
Cenat's addition of "s*x education" as a course made people raise an eyebrow. Critics didn't know if it was to be treated as a joke or a genuine push towards progressive education. Either way, most believed it crossed the line between edutainment and sensationalism.
6. Ridiculous Application Questions
Applications needed responses to ridiculous queries such as "Can you bite your elbow?"—making the process a circus. Many would-be creators felt demeaned by the nonchalance of the enrollment process.
7. Scamming Allegations
A few online critics called SU a "scam," thinking the program was more about Cenat building his brand rather than nurturing new talent. But Cenat made it clear that none has to pay.

8. Public Meltdown on Stream
Amid growing criticism, Cenat vented on Twitch: 'I'm never doing this sh** again.'
His frustration has created backlash in the community.
9. Gatekeeping by AMP Members
Because many SU professors used to be part of Cenat's AMP collective, fans are targeting this issue to create backlash as well.
10. Suddenly Cancelled Upcoming Courses
Cenat announced after the scandal that SU would not return due to financial struggles and criticism. To many, it represented the uphill battle of trying to create something new in a community that is quick to criticize but slow to believe.
Kai Cenat's Streamer University is Terrible
Streamer University was a high-concept project with commendable goals but imperfect execution. In attempting to combine entertainment and mentorship, Kai Cenat revealed both the potential and profound fault lines in the creator economy. Whether SU comes back or not, its conversation starter regarding access, accountability, and authenticity in online spaces has only just begun.

Kamal Haasan thanks TN for supporting him on language row

Chennai: Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam president Kamal Haasan who stood his ground refusing to apologise for his 'Kannada was born from Tamil' remark, thanked Tamil Nadu for firmly backing him during the controversy. "I thank Tamil Nadu for standing with me," Kamal said in his first public appearance since the controversy broke out. I now feel the true meaning of the words Uyire (my life), Urave (my kin), Tamizhe, which I say often" Kamal said at an event organised here on Wednesday to promote his movie 'Thug Life. ' Though he did not delve further into the controversy, Kamal expressed gratitude for the support from several politicians, film personalities, activists and authors for his remarks on Kannada. Municipal administration minister K N Nehru too extended support to Kamal saying that south Indian languages originated from Tamil. Even after the Karnataka high court rapped Kamal, the actor remained defiant and refused to apologise stating that 'love does not apologise.' Though the movie is releasing worldwide on June 5, Kamal has chosen not to release it in Karnataka where political outfits as well as the film industry demanded an apology from him for the remark. Film industry insiders say that the film could have done a business of upto 35 crore in Karnataka given the fact that his earlier hit Vikram's box office collection in Karnataka was around 22 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo However, the 35 crore estimate would be the total collection out of which the producer's share would be around 10 to 12 crores. Tamil film producers say that Bengaluru is the only big market for Tamil films in Karnataka and there was a likelihood of Kamal fans driving down to Hosur which is 40 kms to watch Thug Life. In any case, there is also the possibility for a settlement with Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce enabling the film's release in Karnataka.

Alexander Zverev set to face Novak Djokovic in Roland Garros quarterfinal clash

Zverev and Djokovic set for Roland Garros quarterfinal Alexander Zverev and Novak Djokovic will meet in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, a rematch of their Australian Open semifinal earlier this year. Djokovic retired from that match due to a left leg injury, but he enters the Paris encounter without reported health concerns and has not dropped a set in the tournament. Zverev, ranked World No. 3 in the PIF ATP Rankings, has also shown consistent form, losing only one set en route to the final eight. Djokovic holds an 8-5 advantage in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series, including a 1-1 split on clay. The two have not faced each other on clay since the 2019 Roland Garros semifinals, when Djokovic won in straight sets. Zverev, however, has reached the semifinals or better in Paris each of the past four years. Djokovic's consistency versus Zverev's momentum The 24-time Grand Slam winner continues to produce high-level results despite a slow start to the season. Djokovic reached the Miami Masters 1000 final and recently secured his 100th tour-level title in Geneva. Live Events At Roland Garros, Djokovic's tactical strength and ability to move opponents around the court remain key elements of his success. While Zverev's game relies on a powerful serve and solid backhand, the German may have an edge in endurance and rally length due to his youth. Zverev dismissed suggestions that Djokovic could be considered a dark horse in this tournament. He named Carlos Alcaraz as the primary favorite, followed by Jannik Sinner , himself, and Djokovic in contention. Sinner meets Bublik in opposite quarterfinal On the other side of the draw, Jannik Sinner will face Alexander Bublik in the Roland Garros quarterfinals. Sinner is aiming for his first French Open title and his third consecutive Grand Slam championship. He has won all four matches in Paris with dominant performances, though he now meets an unpredictable opponent in Bublik. Also read: French Open players often make schedule requests. No one wanted to miss the Champions League final Bublik, playing in his first Grand Slam quarterfinal, has already eliminated two Top 10 seeds, Alex de Minaur and Jack Draper. Known for his powerful and unconventional playing style, Bublik could pose a challenge to Sinner's rhythm and consistency. Sinner holds a 3-1 advantage in their Lexus ATP Head2Head series. This will mark their first meeting on clay, with previous contests split between hard and grass surfaces. Sinner's campaign in Paris reflects his growth across surfaces, as he continues to pursue a Grand Slam title beyond his favored hard courts.
