May 27 (UPI) -- Yaxel Lendeborg and Alex Condon, who were projected as first-round picks in some mock drafts, withdrew their names from the 2025 NBA Draft pool and will return to college, they announced Tuesday on social media.
Lendeborg, who spent the last two seasons at UAB, is set to play for the Michigan Wolverines in 2025-26. Condon will return for another season with the reigning champion Florida Gators.
Lendeborg, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game over 37 appearances last season for the Blazers. The two-time All-AAC selection and Defensive Player of the Year was projected as the No. 23 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, according to NBADraft.net.
Condon, a 6-foot-11 forward, averaged 10,6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game over 37 appearances last season. The All-SEC selection was projected as a late first or early second-round pick.
Condon and Lendeborg declared for the 2025 NBA Draft in April, but maintained their collegiate eligibility.
Duke's Cooper Flagg, who led the Blue Devils to the NCAA title game, where they lost to Florida, is the projected top overall pick. The 2025 NBA Draft will be held June 25 and 26 in Brooklyn.

CBS Sports' latest NBA mock draft has Walter Clayton Jr. going to this team out west
CBS Sports' latest NBA mock draft has Walter Clayton Jr. going to this team out west Former Florida basketball guard Walter Clayton Jr. is officially getting first-round buzz ahead of the 2025 NBA draft, with CBS Sports projecting him at No. 29 overall to the Phoenix Suns. Clayton, who averaged 18.3 points per game and shot 38.6 percent from three last season, was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 Final Four. His draft stock soared following a scorching NCAA Tournament run, where he averaged over 22 points and shot 43.5 percent from beyond the arc. CBS Sports' Gary Parrish called him "a skilled and unique shotmaker" and noted that while scouts have concerns about his decision-making and defense, his ability to score at all three levels make him a valuable late-first-round target. If selected, Clayton would become Florida's first NBA first-round pick since Tre Mann in 2021 when the Oklahoma City Thunder selected him with the 18th overall pick. Clayton's rise caps off a remarkable career transformation under head coach Todd Golden and solidifies the Gators' place back among college basketball's elite programs. What CBS Sports said about Clayton "Clayton was the star of Florida's national title run while averaging 22.3 points on 43.5% shooting from beyond the arc in those six NCAA Tournament games. There are concerns about his decision-making and approach to defense, but the Most Outstanding Player of the 2025 Final Four is such a skilled and unique shotmaker that he's worthy of a serious look this deep in the first round by a Phoenix franchise that probably needs to hit the reset button." NBA rumors roundup: Latest on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jason Kidd, more
NBA rumors roundup: Latest on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jason Kidd, more While the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder play in the NBA Finals, the rest of the league is already focused on all of their offseason moves. After the Bucks were eliminated from the playoffs, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that two-time NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was "open-minded" about his future. There are plenty of other rumors floating around the league right now, including a coaching vacancy in New York after they moved on from Tom Thibodeau. ESPN's Brian Windhorst recently predicted that the offseason will happen "faster than normal" this summer and that the majority of the action will happen around the 2025 NBA Draft. Here are the latest updates about the biggest storylines to follow over the course of the next few weeks. Giannis Antetokounmpo There is no bigger story in the NBA than where Milwaukee superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo will land if he is traded. While the Mavericks were briefly floated as a potential option when they surprisingly landed the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the franchise reportedly plans to select Cooper Flagg. Other rumored destinations include the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs, and the Spurs are the favorites. The superstar was also recently linked to the Toronto Raptors, which would shake up the Eastern Conference. It is worth noting that Antetokounmpo recently stated that he hopes to return to the NBA Finals with the Bucks. Windhorst reported that the 2021 NBA Finals MVP has not asked for a trade and that Milwaukee is not looking to trade him. Meanwhile, per Jake Fischer, talks have "significantly stalled" of late as well. More: The Giannis Antetokounmpo era in Milwaukee ended in embarrassing fashion Kevin Durant According to Windhorst, there are a "handful" of teams who will have interest in trading for Kevin Durant. Charania pegged that number as between four and six and one of those teams is the New York Knicks, who reportedly made an offer for Durant at the NBA trade deadline. Meanwhile, the San Antonio Spurs are a potential destination as well. In fact, The Ringer's Bill Simmons believes that Durant to San Antonio is already a "done deal" and just awaiting an announcement. The Spurs likely would not have to include the No. 2 overall pick in such an agreement. If the Bucks don't end up making a deal for Antetokounmpo, the Raptors may also have interest in Durant. The Clippers have been linked to KD as well. Additionally, the Suns are reportedly dangling Durant for the Rockets in an attempt to regain some of their draft capital from the franchise. While there was initially some speculation the 76ers may have interest in Durant using the No. 3 overall pick, NBA insider Marc Stein has debunked those theories. More: Kevin Durant's journeyman career is kinda sad Jason Kidd When the Knicks decided to move on from Tom Thibodeau, there were several candidates who we believed could take over for him. (There were also a few candidates, like Jay Wright, who we speculated are unlikely to take the job.) Although he is currently employed by the Mavericks, one name to keep an eye on is Jason Kidd. More: Jason Kidd may have to choose between the Knicks and Cooper Flagg New York would likely need to include a draft pick to acquire Kidd from Dallas and, per Windhorst, there is "mutual intrigue" between the two parties. Dallas would have to grant permission for New York to interview Kidd, however, and may not have much incentive to do that unless they had a different head coach in mind to replace him.

T.J. Watt skips start of Steelers mandatory minicamp
Aaron Rodgers might be ready to take the practice field for the Pittsburgh Steelers. T.J. Watt is not. The star outside linebacker skipped the start of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Watt likely is eyeing a new deal as he enters the final year of his current contract. The seven-time Pro Bowler and 2021 NFL Defensive Player of the Year signed a four-year extension in September 2021 that was scheduled to pay him $112 million and made him the highest-paid defender in the league at the time. That number has been eclipsed several times over the last four years, including by Cleveland star Myles Garrett, who signed a deal in March that made him the most well-compensated non-quarterback in the league at $40 million a season. The decision to skip minicamp is a change from Watt's approach in 2021, when he did a "hold in" during both minicamp and training camp before agreeing to a contract on the eve of the regular season. "We expect him back at some point," defensive coordinator Teryl Austin said Tuesday. "We don't get caught up (in that) ... He's going to be in good shape (whenever he arrives)." Watt tied an NFL record by registering 22 1/2 sacks after signing the extension in 2021. He led the league in sacks again in 2023, though that number dipped to 11 1/2 last season, Watt's fewest in a year in which he didn't miss extended time because of injury since he was a rookie in 2017. Austin believes Watt's absence will provide opportunities for younger players like third-year outside linebacker Nick Herbig and rookie Jack Sawyer. Maybe, but neither has Watt's game-changing resume. Watt, who turns 31 in October, is the linchpin of a defense that has helped keep the Steelers in contention despite heavy churn at quarterback since Ben Roethlisberger's retirement in January 2022. Rodgers will get his shot after agreeing to a one-year deal last week. The four-time NFL MVP was at the team facility on Tuesday and is expected to be on the field when afternoon practice begins.
