Over on our live page our chief football writer Phil McNulty has been taking your questions.Tom asked: Phil, as a Spurs fan I go into the window with the same resigned anxiety as ever, that the club will low-ball offers until the final week of the window in the hope of getting a deal. Given that strategy and the sacking of Ange Postecoglou, I'd have not been surprised if people had tried to warn Thomas Frank off the Spurs job. With all that in mind, do you think the hierarchy changes in the boardroom and other high levels will change anything at the club, or are we doomed to "rebuild" every two years as has been the way since Pochettino was unceremoniously booted?Phil McNulty: Hello, Tom. There does appear to be change behind the scenes, and Thomas Frank will have surely sought the necessary assurances before leaving Brentford. There is already talk of a move for Bryan Mbeumo, Frank's former player at Brentford, while Mathys Tel has been signed and sealed. Will things really change at Spurs? Who knows? It is a hazardous job predicting what will happen with Spurs. After all, chairman Daniel Levy sacked all the managers who failed to win trophies then also sacked Ange Postecoglou, the one who did.I do actually think there is the basis of really good squad for Frank to work with, augmented by a couple of quality additions.Read more of the Q&A here

Levy, flanked by new chief executive Vinai Venkatesham in an interview posted on the club's YouTube channel, said he did not make the 'emotionally difficult' decision to fire Postecoglou on his own. Ultimately losing 22 Premier League matches and finishing 17th cost Postecoglou his job after two years at the club. Europa League success was not enough to save Ange Postecoglou's job (Nick Potts/PA) 'I don't regret appointing Ange,' said Levy. 'In his first season we finished fifth and in the second season we were over the moon to win a trophy, but we need to compete in all competitions. We felt that we needed a change. 'It was a collective decision. It wasn't my decision. We do everything together. 'Emotionally it was difficult, but we believe we have made the right decision for the club.' Levy added: 'We've won a European trophy, but it's not enough. 'It's what we haven't done that is more important. We need to win the league. We want to win the Premier League. We want to win the Champions League. We want to win.' Thomas Frank, right, is Ange Postecoglou's successor (Nigel French/PA) Tottenham have appointed Brentford boss Thomas Frank as Postecoglou's successor and Levy hopes a new man with new ideas will help get the club back on track. 'Whenever you have a new coach, it is always a fresh start. You have different ideas,' he added. 'We want to build on the success of winning a trophy last season. 'One of the things that stood out to me with Thomas — clearly highly intelligent, great communicator, super human being, plus all of the other technical aspects that are important.'

Tottenham in regular contact with stranded Manor Solomon amid Israel conflict

The 25-year-old Israel international got married to long-term partner Dana Voshina last week, but the newlyweds have not been able to leave after Israeli airspace was closed to civilian flights. Having recovered from a serious knee injury, Solomon spent last season on loan at Leeds, helping the club win the Sky Bet Championship title and secure promotion back to the Premier League. After nearly a year without football, I couldn't have asked for a better comeback season and a better ending. I really don't know what the future holds, but I do know that Leeds United will forever be in my you again, fans, for the unforgettable past few weeks and… — Manor Solomon (@Manorsolomon) May 10, 2025 A Tottenham spokesperson confirmed to the PA news agency: 'We are constantly in regular dialogue with all our players regarding their wellbeing and welfare.' Solomon, who had a loan spell at Fulham before he joined Spurs from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2023, is set to return to the north London club for the start of pre-season training in early July. New boss Thomas Frank will be looking to shape his squad ahead of the new campaign, having taken over following the departure of Ange Postecoglou. Spurs have already completed the permanent signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich on a six-year deal following a successful loan spell. Despite finishing 17th in the Premier League, their lowest-ever finish, Spurs have qualified for the Champions League courtesy of their 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final, which proved to be the last match in charge for Postecoglou.
