The FIFA Club World Cup continues with tonight's round of 16 matchup between EPL juggernaut Manchester City and Al Hilal.
Al Hilal is one of the biggest underdogs still standing in this competition, but the Saudi Pro League club did show in the group stage that it can hang with top-tier competition.
Al Hilal drew Real Madrid and Red Ball Salzburg in its first two CWC matches, then beat Liga MX side Pachuca 2-0 to emerge from Group H.
Manchester City is coming off a disappointing Premier League campaign in which it finished in third place behind Liverpool and Arsenal. It was dominant in Group G, though, outscoring Wydad AC, Al Ain and Juventus by a combined score of 13-2.
2025 Champions League winner PSG (+250) are the current favorites to win this tournament, but City have the next-shortest odds at +275 (DK) as of June 30.

Manchester City vs. Al Hilal Betting Analysis
Based on the betting odds for this game, anyone unfamiliar with Al Hilal might assume that its roster lacks high-end talent.
That's hardly the case, though. Former Sevilla keeper Bono, former Wolverhampton midfielder Ruben Neves, former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic and ex-Man City right back João Cancelo are among a handful of proven vets who now play for the Riyadh-based club in the Saudi Pro League.
Another Al Hilal player to watch is 22-year-old Brazilian forward Marcos Leonardo. He scored 17 goals in the SPL this year and is coming off a strong showing vs. Pachuca in Al Hilal's group stage finale, with two shots on target and a goal.
City won the EPL in six of the last eight seasons, and they also took home the Champions League trophy in 2023.
Pep Guardiola's team boasts stars at every position, including Erling Haaland up top. The 24-year-old already has two goals and an assist in this competition despite playing 45 minutes or less in two of City's three games.
In the other tournament that is taking place in the United States right now -- the Gold Cup -- sticking with the betting favorites has not paid off. Canada and Panama both went out in the semifinals in shocking losses to Guatemala and Honduras.
The United States also needed PKs in a semifinal match vs. Costa Rica that it was expected to win comfortably, but did survive.
Although the possibility in knockout soccer for upsets (or underdogs to at least force games into extra time or PKs) is always high, I don't see Al Hilal threatening Man City tonight. So, the question is how to find some value while backing the favorites in a game this lopsided (at least according to oddsmakers).
City, which shut out its first two opponents in the Club World Cup, is a solid bet to keep a clean sheet tonight, and they're available at plus money to win in a shutout. If there's one value bet tonight, that would be the one.
Another solid way to cash in if City wins, even if this game ends up being competitive, is Man City half time/full time.
Manchester City vs. Al Hilal Best Bets
Manchester City Win To Zero (+110 at DK) -- 1 unit
Half Time/Full Time: Man City/Man City (-150 at DK) -- 1 unit

Xabi Alonso highlights ‘what he needs to teach' Kylian Mbappe on Real Madrid return
Xabi Alonso is ready to bring Kylian Mbappe back into his Real Madrid squad ahead of their FIFA Club World Cup clash with Juventus. Los Blancos secured top spot in Group H after winning two games and drawing with Al Hilal to set up a tie with Juventus in Florida. Advertisement Star striker Mbappe missed all three games due to illness as Alonso opted against risking him in the 3-0 win over RB Salzburg to ensure he would be fully fit to take the Serie A giants. Will Kylian Mbappe play vs. Juventus? Mbappe is back in full training and is on course to start against Juventus, flanked by Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, with Gonzalo Garcia dropping to the bench. Alonso is still working on his tactical plan for next season with Mbappe central to what he wants to do in the Spanish capital. Xabi Alonso's Kylian Mbappe concern on Real Madrid return Former Germany and USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann claimed fitting Mbappe and Vinicius Jr will be a major test for Alonso. Image via El Futbolero Advertisement 'They are two personalities Xabi has to manage and I'm sure the team will manage to compensate for everything to get the best out of them. At PSG, it didn't work out in those two years with Neymar, Mbappe and Messi. 'It will be hard for Xabi to get both of them to defend more.' Ahead of Mbappe's recall, Alonso admitted he needs the France international to change his game in the coming weeks, with a few concerns. 'He's a leader because of his impact and influence. We all need to be committed to the collective ideas and enjoy what we get to do. The demands are the same for everyone,' as per Marca. 'We need to be committed on and off the ball. It's going to be hard to teach Mbappe how to dribble, but it's hard to teach him how to link up. '

Activists: FIFA should protect World Cup attendees from immigration enforcement
A coalition of community organizations convened on FIFA's doorstep in Coral Gables on Monday afternoon to urge the soccer world's governing body to protect attendees at World Cup events from 'overzealous immigration enforcement.' About a dozen activists gathered on the sidewalk outside the gold-toned metal spirals that embellish the main entrance of FIFA's new legal and compliance division office, holding signs reading 'FIFA, eyes on the ball, ICE off the field!' and 'FIFA, the world is watching!' Speakers said recent actions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials had provoked increasing concern over the safety of local residents attending the Club World Cup games this summer at Hard Rock Stadium. The stadium will also host seven World Cup matches next year. 'We've long been concerned about ICE at sporting events under this administration, but our concerns have been heightened by irresponsible statements from ICE and CBP,' said Thomas Kennedy, an immigrant rights advocate with the Florida Immigrant Coalition. Kennedy highlighted a June 10 post by Customs and Border Protection on social media site X that said the federal law enforcement agency would be 'suited and booted and ready to provide security for the first round of games.' The post was later deleted but not before arousing the concern of immigration rights groups in South Florida. The same day, NBC Miami reported that ICE had advised, in a statement regarding enforcement at Club World Cup games, that 'all non-American citizens need to carry proof of their legal status.' When asked to clarify, ICE told the Miami Herald: 'As is customary for an event of this magnitude with national security implications, ICE will be working alongside our Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice partners to help ensure the safety and security of the event.' The following night, on June 11, a celebration of the upcoming World Cup hosted by Spanish-language television network Telemundo aboard a boat in Biscayne Bay was abruptly canceled following a surprise inspection by the Coast Guard, alongside at least one border patrol agent. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who was aboard the boat at the time, said in a statement that the inspection was 'deeply troubling' and 'should not have happened.' Coast Guard spokesperson Chief Petty Officer Nicole Groll told the Herald that the inspection 'was not a targeted immigration thing.' On Monday, Kennedy told the crowd outside FIFA's offices that his group had confirmed that federal immigration agents had been present at recent Club World Cup games. But Kennedy said his organization had not witnessed immigration agents at the games indiscriminately detaining attendees or demanding they provide proof of residency. 'FIFA has an opportunity to use the power of the game and culture to help us meet this moment,' said Laura Muñoz, the civic engagement director for the Florida Student Power Network. 'Soccer has the power to bring us together, and that's what we need the most right now — that's what we're asking for FIFA to do.' Muñoz told the press conference that FIFA needed to recognize that many of Miami's soccer fans were staying home and out of the bleachers because of fear over immigration enforcement. 'Especially for undocumented youth, they can't feel safe going to a game,' Muñoz said. 'This situation has gotten out of hand.' FIFA did not provide a formal response to the press conference as of late Monday, but a June 17 press release from the organization highlighted the 'record crowds and unmatched passion' of the matches at Hard Rock Stadium. The statement also said fans from over 130 countries had purchased tickets, traveling from across the globe to attend the games. 'FIFA is proud of the unique and multicultural atmosphere and support this new competition has already generated,' FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in the statement. 'FIFA Club World Cup continues to grow into the undisputed pinnacle of global club football.'

🎥 Man City's early CWC dominance continues with Silva opener
Bernardo Silva has given Manchester City an early and justified lead in their last 16 Club World Cup clash against Al-Hilal in Orlando. After a scramble inside the box in the wake of an overlapping run from Rayan Aït-Nouri, the Portuguese midfielder tapped in the opener which ultimately was awarded following a lengthy VAR review for a potential handball. Advertisement The Premier League giants have now scored inside ten minutes in all four of their Club World Cup matches, showing their continued dominance over the opposition this summer. Pep Guardiola will certainly be pleased with the way his side have started all of their CWC matches, while laying the framework to avoid falling victim to another shock result on the night. 📸 Francois Nel - 2025 Getty Images
