2 charged, over $20k worth of stolen items found in Waldorf, deputies say
CHARLES COUNTY, Md. () — Charles County deputies said a man and woman were charged after they were accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of fragrances and clothes.
According to the Charles County Sheriff's Office, the pair was connected to a series of retail thefts from a store on Mall Circle in Waldorf
Deputies said that during the thefts, the man and woman entered the store and took nearly $3,000 worth of fragrances. They then returned the same day and stole more items.

Loss prevention told Charles County deputies that they watched the pair place the stolen items in a blue SUV, which was later located near a restaurant.
When deputies arrived at the restaurant, they found both suspects, Robert Lee Pettigrew, 52, of Brandywine, and Zatay Ejasia Owens, 26, of Bowie.
Deputies said Pettigrew tried to run from authorities, but was taken into custody along with Owens.
Following their arrest, detectives obtained a search warrant for Pettigrew's Range Rover and recovered about $20,000 worth of fragrances and clothing, which were believed to have been taken from other thefts.
On May 11, Pettigrew and Owens were released on personal recognizance from the Charles County Detention Center.

Deputies: Holland Township rear-end crash sends 1 to hospital
HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a woman was hospitalized Friday after a rear-end crash in Holland Township. It happened just after 11:40 a.m. on Riley Street near 100th Avenue, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office. A 44-year-old woman was heading east in a white Jeep, according to the sheriff's office. At the same time, two cars were stopped on Riley at a traffic signal. Deputies say the woman rear-ended the two stopped cars, then went off the road, through a fence and into the backyard of a nearby home. The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to the sheriff's office. Other people suffered minor injuries. Peoria police search for man after car theft at gunpoint
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Peoria police are looking for a man who allegedly took a vehicle from another man at gunpoint late Thursday night. The incident occurred at about 10:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North Braves Court which is about a block away from the Carver Center, police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they talked to the victim, who said he was parked in his vehicle when another person approached him. That person, who was armed, ordered him out of the vehicle and drove off, police said. The victim was not injured. Later, the car was found 1000 block of West Hurlburt Street which is about four blocks away. Officers were able to find the car using a License Plate Reader camera.
