Twilight star weds long-time love at intimate ceremony

Perth Now22-04-2025

Kristen Stewart is officially off the market after marrying her long-time partner, Dylan Meyer.
The 35-year-old Twilight star and the 37-year-old screenwriter shared a sweet moment reading their vows during a simple and intimate ceremony at Casita Del Campo with close family and friends.
The lovers opted for outfits that complemented each other, with Meyer wearing a short mesh dress and Stewart keeping it casual in a beige two-piece set.
Stewart's messy blonde hair was left down while Meyer's matching blonde hair was swept up in a ponytail and secured with a back ribbon.
Pictures also showed Stewart placing a ring on Meyer's finger and the loved-up duo sharing their first kiss as a married couple.
Their wedding comes after the pair dated for six years and obtained a marriage license at a courthouse, according to TMZ.
Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson and Bradon James Black were on the guest list and arrived with their Hermes wedding gift in hand.

Stewart told The Howard Stern Show in November 2021: 'I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted. And, you know, she nailed it. It was really cute. She did very well.'
'And we're marrying. It's happening.
'I want to stay home. Like, I want to be in L.A. so everyone can come.
'And, you know, I want it to be pretty chill. Like, I don't want anyone walking anyone down any aisles. Like, we're just going to, like, stand and, like, do vows and f**king party after. It's kind of just a great excuse to, like, get together and say, like, 'I love you' in front of all your friends.' Ashley Benson and Brandon Davis. Credit: AKMG / Terma, SL / BACKGRID
The Spencer actress previously told Stern in 2019, she and Meyer met 'years ago' while working on a movie, but didn't reconnect until a friend's birthday party six years later.
'The first time I told her that I loved her it was like really late and we were in some sh**ty bar and her friends were there or whatever, and they like walked out, and I was just like, 'Oh man, I'm so f**king in love with you.' Like, done.'
Stewart opened up about starting a family with Meyer, sharing in a March 2024 episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast that the two have 'done really annoying things like freeze our eggs and stuff.'
'So if we want to, we can,' the Love Lies Bleeding star said.
'Keeping that open.'

Rihanna's dad dies aged 70

Rihanna's dad has died at the age of 70. The 37-year-old pop star - whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty - has yet to address her loss publicly, but Starcom Network reported on Saturday (31.05.25) that her father, Ronald Fenty had passed away following a "brief illness". The outlet reported that "family members have gathered in California, where Fenty passed away in the early hours of this morning", but gave no further detail. PEOPLE magazine later confirmed the news, although his official cause and date of death have yet to be revealed. The news comes just days after TMZ reported that Rihanna's brother Rajad Fenty had been seen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and claimed that the 'Umbrella' hitmaker was also with him. Ronald is also survived by Rihanna's mother Monica Braithwaite - whom he split from in 2002 - as well as daughters Kandi, 54, and Samantha Fenty, 44, as well as his 35-year-old son Rorrey Fenty. Prior to their divorce, Ronald and Monica had raised their children in Bridgetown, Barbados where he worked as a warehouse supervisor and she was an accountant. Rihanna had endured a rocky relationship with her father when she was growing up. and was at the centre of a public battle with him when he spoke to the press after she was assaulted by then-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009. However, the in the years that followed, she noted that she had "repaired" her relationship with her father and had to learn to "come to terms" with things that had gone in in the past. She told Oprah Winfrey: "He taught me everything, and as awful as he was to my mom, at times, it didn't compare to how great he was as a father. "And I had to come to terms with that, and I was able to close that gap with him." Despite this, in 2019, Rihanna sued her dad for allegedly exploiting her name for financial gain but elected to dismiss the complaint just weeks before it went to court. The 'Diamonds' songstress is currently expecting her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky - with whom she already has Rza, two, as well as 22-month-old Riot - and Ron previously shared how much he approved of his daughter's relationship. Ron told PageSix in 2023: "He's such a cool guy. Very respectable. He's taking to fatherhood very well."

Smokey Robinson was investigated for 2015 sex assault

Authorities investigated a previous sexual assault allegation against Smokey Robinson in 2015, but no charges were filed because of insufficient evidence, prosecutors say. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office confirmed the decade-old investigation and its decision to decline charges in a statement on Friday. The office said no details could be provided because of the current investigation of Robinson. Four former housekeepers of the singer-songwriter and Motown music luminary have alleged that he raped and sexually assaulted them between 2007 and 2024. The women filed a lawsuit on May 6, then the following week the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department revealed that its Special Victims Bureau was "actively investigating criminal allegations" against Robinson. Robinson's lawyer Christopher Frost said in a statement Friday that they are "pleased" that the district attorney "confirmed there was no basis to file charges a decade ago." "One unfortunate aspect of celebrity is that it is not uncommon to be the target of spurious and unsubstantiated allegations," Frost said. "Mr. Robinson looks forward to the conclusion of the current investigation, and has no doubt that a similar determination will be reached here." Frost previously called the housekeepers' allegations "vile" and "false". The 2015 case was first reported by TMZ. On Wednesday, Robinson and his wife, Frances, who was also named as a defendant in the lawsuit, sued the women for defamation, saying their allegations were "fabricated in an extortionate scheme". A statement on Friday from the housekeepers' lawyers, John Harris and Herbert Hayden, emphasised that there were no charges in the 2015 case "due to insufficient evidence — not because the claims lacked merit.". They said "this latest development further affirms that at least five women have now come forward with allegations of sexual assault against Mr. Robinson. Together, they are united in their pursuit of justice". Robinson, a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, was a key figure in the Motown Records machine of the 1960s as both an artist and a writer, and was one of the biggest hitmakers of the era with songs including Tears of a Clown and The Tracks of My Tears. The housekeepers are seeking at least $US50 million ($A78 million) in the lawsuit. They have not publicly revealed their names. They allege Robinson raped and sexually assaulted them after isolating them, usually in his home. One woman said she was assaulted at least 20 times while working for Robinson from 2012 until 2024. Another said she worked for him from 2014 until 2020 and was assaulted at least 23 times. They said Frances Robinson enabled him and created an abusive workplace. The Robinsons' defamation lawsuit says the women "stayed with the Robinsons year after year," vacationed with them, celebrated holidays with them, exchanged gifts with them, asked for tickets to his concerts, and sought and received help from them including money for dental surgery, financial support for a disabled family member, and "even a car". The court filing says that despite the couple's generosity, the women "secretly harboured resentment for the Robinsons and sought to enrich themselves through the Robinsons' wealth."
