Bryant presents draft stormwater plan for flooding and infrastructure upgrades
BRYANT, Ark. – A Saline County city is planning and preparing for stormwater drainage and support.
The city of Bryant issued the draft of its Master Stormwater Plan on Tuesday. City officials said the plan is open for public comment, with the first public discussion scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in the Boswell Municipal Complex Conference Room at 210 SW 3rd Street in Bryant.

Officials said the plan has four key components:
Upgrading Drainage Systems: Addressing outdated infrastructure in high-risk flood areas to improve stormwater flow and reduce property damage.
Green Infrastructure Initiatives: Implement sustainable practices such as permeable pavement, rain gardens, and shallow vegetated channels designed to collect and direct stormwater runoff and naturally manage runoff.
Public Education and Engagement: Increasing awareness about stormwater impacts and encouraging community involvement in conservation efforts.
Regulatory Compliance and Long-Term Planning: Ensuring the city adheres to state and federal stormwater regulations while planning for future growth and development.
