CUET UG 2025: Re-test admit card released for Accountancy paper; here's direct link
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the re-examination of the CUET-UG 2025. Candidates who had appeared for the Accountancy paper between May 13 and May 16 and submitted their consent to reappear can now download their hall tickets from the official NTA website cuet.nta.nic.in. The re-exam will be held from June 2 to June 4, 2025.
This re-test is restricted to only those who faced issues during the earlier attempt and had formally confirmed their willingness to reappear for the exam. In addition, revised exams for the Tamil and Urdu subjects (Shift 2), which were originally scheduled for May 22, will also be conducted on June 4, 2025.

'Sitaare Zameen Par' makers shares his opinion on marching of tech in cinema
Director R.S. Prasanna, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film 'Sitaare Zameen Par', feels that human beings will soon catch up with the technological changes in filmmaking. The filmmaker spoke with IANS in the run-up to the release of his film, which features Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh. He recollected how he saw Indian cinema legend Kamal Haasan experimenting with a digital camera, Red Dragon. Speaking with IANS, Prasanna said, "I think the industry is pretty fast in adapting, like I remember when 35mm film was there and I was in film school and Kamal Haasan sir was testing the Red camera in our L.V. Prasad Film Institute, Chennai where I studied. He was doing a test shoot. I remember all the people around saying, 'it's just a fad and it'll not happen, it's not gonna happen', and it did". The audience will demand a change, the filmmakers will rise, the technological change will happen as it should, and experiments will keep happening, some will click, some will not. He further mentioned, "But I think one thing which will never change is the way our hearts beat, so as long as the heart is there in everything, the visual is only pixels, the sound is only decibels, but that feeling, that soul, that is, as long as we have a heart, stories told by humans will always be relevant". He then cited the example of romance as to how the shape or form of romance in cinematic storytelling has changed but the soul is the same. He shared, "If you see around yourself, romance has been there from early manage, they may say romance has changed, no romance has not changed, the medium has changed, today you call it situationship or anything else but, still the heart pains if you don't get to be with the person of your choice". "I feel unless genetically our heart changes or our mind changes, I think storytelling and emotions will be the same, the form will keep changing and we have to be on the awareness of that as a director, but I think for me as a filmmaker, I'm only looking for the soul, which I think soul is very old, so it won't change that fast", he added. No more early morning shows for big-ticket Tamil films even outside TN
Chennai: There will be no more 4.30am release of Tamil films even outside the state. Tamil Nadu stopped early morning release of big budget films in 2023 when a fan died in a stampede at 'Thunivu' screening. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Yet, producers continued to have releases at 4.30am in other states, while keeping the 9am show as the first show within Tamil Nadu. Now, big-ticket films, including Kamal Hassan's ;Thug Life;, will only hit screens from 9am onwards. Producers blame poor security in neighbouring states, rising theatre vandalism, low booking commissions for theatres, and paid reviews before release, affecting the bookings adversely. Even Ajith's Good Badly Ugly and Suriya's Retro had only 9 am releases. S R Prabhu, producer with Dream Warrior Pictures, said early morning shows are getting regulated in all states. "It's a challenge to secure police security for such early shows in other states. Fans come in craze, and mishaps tend to happen. So, many prefer not to have such shows early in the day," he said. Prabhu mentioned that paid influencers and YouTube reviewers who attend such shows give exaggerated reviews, both positive and negative, for reach. "So, even before a movie is released, it affects the booking. We just want people to directly view the show instead of getting influenced by such reviews," he said. Thiruppur Kumaran, representing Tamil Nadu Theater and Multiplex Owners Association, said fans come drunk and end up vandalising the seats and screens. "We cannot control the frenzy on such occasions. It's better to have morning shows," he said. People from Coimbatore mostly go to Kerala to watch, while those in Krishnagiri go to Bengaluru. Fans from Chennai go to Nagari in Andhra Pradesh to catch early shows. Prabhu also added that when fan clubs book in bulk, theatres don't get booking commissions.

As Kamal has decided against release of Thug Life in Karnataka, trade analysts expect 7% loss in total gross revenue
With actor founder Kamal Haasan refusing to apologise for his remarks that 'Kannada was born out of Tamil language' during the Thug Life audio launch recently and Karnataka remaining defiant, Raj Kamal Films International has decided against releasing the film in the neighbouring State for the time being. In the meantime, Mr. Haasan's political party Makkal Needhi Maiam has put up posters across Tamil Nadu, which read, 'Love will not apologise'. The posters also read: 'We spoke the truth to the world. We spoke about the relationship between the two. Why should we apologise for speaking love? Truth shall never bow down.' In a letter to Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Haasan said, 'It pains me that my statement at the Thug Life audio launch — spoken out of genuine affection for the legendary Dr. Raj Kumar's family, especially Shiva Rajkumar — has been misunderstood and taken out of context. My words were intended only to convey that we are all one and from the same family, and not to diminish [the importance of] Kannada in anyway,' he said. Mr. Haasan said, 'There is no dispute or debate on the rich legacy of Kannada language. Like Tamil, Kannada has a proud literary and cultural tradition that I have long admired. Throughout my career, I have cherished the warmth and affection extended to me by the Kannada-speaking community, and I say that with clear conscience and conviction: my love for the language is genuine and I have great respect for the love that Kannadigas have for their mother tongue.' According to producer and distributor G. Dhananjayan, the production house is likely to face a loss of ₹35 crore to ₹40 crore in gross box office revenue and a loss of ₹12 crore to ₹15 crore in producer share, if the film does not release in Karnataka. 'Four Telugu films — Pushpa 2 (₹1,775.10 crore), Bahubali 2 (₹1,706.50 crore), RRR (₹1,289.40 crore), and Kalki 2898 (₹1,061 crore) — grossed more than ₹1,000 crore at the box office. The Karnataka box office revenue amounts to ₹104 crore (Pushpa 2), ₹129 crore (Bahubali 2), ₹83.40 crore (RRR), and ₹74.80 crore (Kalki 2898). With the four Telugu films grossing a total of ₹5, 832 crore, the Karnataka box office revenue alone amounts to ₹391.20 crore, while the north Indian market accounts for ₹2,361.60 crore. The Karnataka market accounts for around 7% of the total revenue,' he said. The top grossing Tamil films in Karnataka were Jailer (₹67.70 crore), Leo (₹41.35 crore), Ponniyin Selvan 1 (₹28.10 crore), The Goat (₹27.95 crore), and Vikram (around ₹22 crore). 'For Tamil films too, the Karnataka market accounts for 7% of the total revenue,' he said. In short, Thug Life might lose about 7% of the total expected revenue, Mr. Dhananjayan said. The Tamil Active Film Producers Council has said in a statement that stopping or postponement of the release of Thug Life in Karnataka will 'permanently damage' the harmonious relationship between the two film industries and will have 'consequences' for both in the coming years.
