Ohio State softball slugger Jasmyn Burns announces transfer destination
The Ohio State softball team led the country in runs scored and home runs, and one of the main reasons it did was catcher Jasmyn Burns.
All Burns did was hit 25 home runs, 14 doubles, and drive in 72 RBIs while securing a batting average of .455. It was a momentum-building year for her and the Ohio State program under new head coach Kirin Kumar, but that forward- looking optimism took a bit of a blow when Burns entered the transfer portal.
If there were any hopes that Burns would have a change of heart and take her name out of that portal to return to the banks of the Olentangy, that all ended on Saturday when Burns took to social media to announce her commitment to Texas Tech, a team that just finished off a memorable run to the finals of the Women's College World Series before falling to Texas in the championship series.
While this might seem like a blow for Ohio State and a massive commitment for Texas Tech, you have to believe that the Buckeyes are still in good hands with what Kumar is building in Columbus. The 5-foot, 3-inch catcher has two years of eligibility left in Lubbock.

Texas lands first DT commitment from four-star Dylan Berymon

Texas lands first DT commitment from four-star Dylan Berymon BREAKING: Four-Star DL Dylan Berymon has Committed to Texas, he tells me for @on3recruits The 6'3 330 DL from Monroe, LA chose the Longhorns over Purdue 'AGTG Texas is the place to be!' — Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) June 8, 2025 Texas Longhorns have landed their first defensive tackle commitment of the 2026 recruiting class. Four-star, 6-foot-2, 320 pound Dylan Berymon of Louisiana has picked Texas over LSU, Purdue, Houston and North Carolina. Defensive tackle is a position of need for UT. Berymon is great start to a solid defensive tackle class. With a strong base and upfield push, Berymon should be an anchor at nose tackle, clogging up the middle to stop the run. Recruiting analysts had pegged Berymon as a future Boilermaker because of some pre-exhisting relationships. But in the end, Texas won out. He will join former Boilermaker and likely 2025 Texas starter Cole Brevard in the DT room. On3's Industry Rankings have Berymon ranked as the No. 172 overall prospect, the No. 19 defensive linema and the No. 8 player in Louisiana. Texas also has a pledge from Louisiana defensive back Hayward Howard. If both players end up signing, they would join Arch Manning, Derek Williams, Wardell Mack and Will Randle from The Boot. NBA rumors: Rockets ‘anticipating' Celtics trade talks

The post NBA rumors: Rockets 'anticipating' Celtics trade talks appeared first on ClutchPoints. The 2025 offseason is shaping up to be an important one for the Houston Rockets. Looking to shape their roster into a contender in the Western Conference, the Rockets could turn to both the free agent and trade market. Re-signing backup center Steven Adams is a priority, but the Rockets could engage the Boston Celtics in trade talks this offseason, as per Kelly Iko of The Athletic. Advertisement Heading into the offseason, the Celtics are expected to be active in potential trade talks as they look to shed salary coming into the 2025-26 season, as per ClutchPoints' NBA insider Brett Siegel. The Rockets are a team that could stand to benefit from trade talks with the Celtics. Of the players most likely to be moved in the offseason via trade, Kristaps Porzingis figures to be near the top of that list. The Celtics currently have the majority of their salary cap tied up in five players with Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Derrick White and Porzingis. Siegel reports that the Celtics want to hang on to Brown and White, with Holiday and Porzingis potentially being dangled in trades to offload salary. A potential Porzingis acquisition, provided that he is healthy, would be a massive pickup for the Rockets in terms of frontcourt depth. There's also the question of salary, however. Alperen Sengun is the Rockets' starting center, and it figures to be less expensive to re-sign Adams as the backup, something the team is reportedly keen on doing. While the Rockets are hoping to emerge as contenders following their No. 2 finish in the West standings, the Celtics are in a bit of a grey area following Tatum's Achilles injury during the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Knicks. His recovery period could potentially be all of next season, putting the Celtics' contending hopes temporarily on hold.

Shaquille O'Neal hilariously crashes NBA Countdown set before Game 1

Sep 15, 2024; Arlington, Texas, USA; Former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal stands on the sidelines before a game between the New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Tim Heitman-Imagn Images The post Shaquille O'Neal hilariously crashes NBA Countdown set before Game 1 appeared first on ClutchPoints. Shaquille O'Neal stole the spotlight before Game 1 of the 2025 NBA Finals with a surprise appearance on ESPN's NBA Countdown set, adding his signature humor ahead of the highly anticipated matchup between the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder. Advertisement The unexpected moment comes just months before the full Inside the NBA ESPN move, where the big man and co-hosts Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will join ESPN after decades on TNT. O'Neal's brief walk-on during NBA Countdown gave fans a preview of what's coming—a blend of unscripted comedy, chemistry, and unmatched charisma. As he entered the studio, O'Neal towered over analysts Stephen A. Smith, Malika Andrews, and Bob Myers. He leaned over desks, playfully jabbed at panelists, and even mocked a wrestling move on Kendrick Perkins. At one point, he turned to the camera with theatrical flair before signing off, leaving the entire panel—and the internet—buzzing. When posted, the video quickly went viral across social media. Fans praised the big man's timing and personality, saying it reminded them why Inside the NBA has been such a beloved show. This wasn't just a comedy bit—it was a teaser for how ESPN plans to inject new life into its studio programming. Advertisement The scene also followed a fiery sendoff during TNT's final Inside the NBA show, which aired after Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals—the show's last scheduled broadcast before the network transition. During the segment, O'Neal addressed the audience with a message of defiance and unity. 'The show is still here, baby. You can never kill the four horsemen.' The energy O'Neal brought to ESPN's set is exactly what fans can expect when the Inside crew makes its official debut next season. The move marks the end of an era, as TNT's relationship with the NBA dates back to 1989. Over the decades, the show became not just a show, but a cultural touchstone. Its relocation to ESPN reflects a massive shift in the league's media landscape—and expectations for what studio shows can be.
