The Hockey Canada sexual assault trial involving five former members of the 2018 World Junior hockey team resumed in a London, Ontario courtroom, with NHL forward Brett Howden facing a pointed cross-examination over what he witnessed during the alleged incident.
Carter Hart's lawyer questions Brett Howden over what he saw in hotel room 209
Brett Howden, testifying remotely from Las Vegas where he now plays for the Golden Knights, was questioned by Megan Savard, the lawyer representing Carter Hart. Hart is accused of sexually assaulting a woman known as E.M., including receiving oral sex during the early morning of June 19, 2018, in room 209 of the Delta hotel.

Savard pressed Howden on statements he gave in 2018, asking whether Hart initially seemed hesitant to accept E.M.'s
offer. 'The impression you got was that Mr. Hart didn't really seem like he wanted to agree to oral sex at first,' she suggested. Howden agreed, citing Hart's possible desire to 'look cool in front of his teammates.'
Savard further probed Howden's recollection: 'They like, kind of went to each other like it was 50/50… and then she gave him oral sex.' Howden confirmed that was his statement.
Brett Howden's memory questioned over past head injury and forgotten details
In a strategic move, Savard also cast doubt on the reliability of Howden's memory.

She reminded the court that he suffered a severe head injury in March 2022 during a televised game, in which he lost consciousness for nine minutes and was stretchered off the ice.
Howden acknowledged the injury and admitted, 'I've never really had to remember, try to remember so many little details like this before. And it's definitely gotten a lot harder over time.'
Adding another layer to the proceedings, Justice Maria Carroccia dismissed a key text message sent by Howden to teammate Taylor Raddysh days after the alleged incident.
In the message, Howden wrote, 'Dude, I'm so happy I left when all the s--t went down… Duber was smacking this girl's ass so hard.'

The judge ruled the message inadmissible, citing that Howden had 'no present recollection' of the event and may not have been speaking from personal observation. As the trial continues, Howden remains a central witness, though not accused of any wrongdoing.

Virat Kohli Creates History, Becomes Only Player In 18 Years To...

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli became the first player to win an IPL title by staying loyal to the same team for the entirety of the competition. Almost as if it was written in the stars, Kohli ended the wait in the IPL's 18th year — the number behind his jersey and the date of his international debut. Although several one-team players have won titles in the IPL, like Sachin Tendulkar, Jasprit Bumrah and Shane Warne, among others, no one has done it by staying it by being with one team for this long. RCB beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs in the last over, defending the target of 191.

After IPL 2025 win, Krunal Pandya reveals telephone chat with brother Hardik Pandya

Krunal Pandya (BCCI/IPL Photo) NEW DELHI: Krunal Pandya delivered a Player of the Match performance to guide Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to their maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday. Picked up by RCB for Rs 5.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Krunal brought out his full arsenal, refusing to let Punjab Kings gain control during their chase. His spell of 2 for 17, which included the crucial wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis, proved to be a game-changer and played a key role in RCB's six-run victory. Krunal later revealed that he had set his intentions clearly with the franchise during his very first conversation — he was there to win trophies — and he made good on that promise with a match-defining performance. — IPL (@IPL) 'When we batted, we realised the slower you bowl, the better it is. In this format, you need guts to do it. I just backed myself and thought I'd vary my pace and keep it on the slower side more often. My biggest strength has been to learn what the situation requires. I knew I had to be brave to get wickets tonight. Thought I'd do that by bowling slow. If you'd have bowled quick, it'd have been a good wicket. But if you mixed it up, it was tougher. Pitch actually got easier in the second innings,' said Krunal while collecting the POTM trophy. 'Have enjoyed my time with RCB so far. I told them on day one that I like to win trophies. I told Hardik too that the Pandya household will have nine trophies in 11 years,' he added. Krunal now has four IPL titles to his name — three with Mumbai Indians — and Tuesday's performance marked the second time he has won the Player of the Match award in an IPL final. The first came in 2017, when he scored 47 off 38 balls to help Mumbai Indians defeat the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant.
