Sean ‘Diddy' Combs threatened to leak sex tapes of ex-girlfriend, stylist testifies

NEW YORK - Sean 'Diddy' Combs routinely beat his ex-girlfriend and during fits of rage threatened to release sex tapes of her to the internet, a stylist testified on May 28 at the hip-hop mogul's sex trafficking trial.
Deonte Nash, who worked as a stylist for Combs and Combs' former girlfriend Casandra Ventura from 2008 to 2018, alleged that Combs repeatedly beat Ventura and threatened to release the tapes while raging at her for not being obedient.
'He told her she f****d up and he was going to put her sex tapes on the internet,' Nash said, recounting an alleged incident in 2013 or 2014.
Combs, 55, has pleaded not guilty to five counts including racketeering and sex trafficking. He faces up to life in prison if convicted on all counts.
Last week, Scott Mescudi - the rapper known as Kid Cudi - testified that his car was set on fire in 2012, shortly after Combs learned that Mescudi had a romantic relationship with Ventura.
Prosecutors say the alleged arson of Mescudi's car was one of several violent or illegal acts that Combs or his associates undertook to prevent women from leaving his orbit and keep his abuse quiet.
On May 28, a lawyer for Combs told the judge outside the jury's presence that prosecutors' questions to a Los Angeles arson investigator implied that Combs had a role in the destruction of fingerprint evidence, arguing the questions were grounds for a mistrial.
US District Judge Arun Subramanian swiftly denied the request, saying none of the testimony was unfair to Combs. He told jurors to disregard the questions and answers about the fingerprints.
Testimony in Combs' trial in Manhattan federal court is in its third week. Prosecutors say Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, coerced women, including Ventura, over two decades to take part in days-long, drug-fuelled sexual performances with male sex workers known as 'freak offs.'

Combs' lawyers have acknowledged that he was at times abusive in domestic relationships, but said the women who participated in freak offs did so consensually.
Over four days of emotional testimony during the first week of trial, Ventura recounted years of alleged physical and emotional abuse by Combs.
Ventura, a rhythm and blues singer known as Cassie, said she hated the freak offs. She said she participated because she loved Combs and because she feared how he would react if she didn't. REUTERS

Ms Wiles has reportedly been targeted by hackers at least once before, in the final months of Trump's 2024 presidential campaign. At the time, hackers alleged by US authorities to be acting on behalf of Iran approached journalists and a political operative with a variety of messages sent to and from Ms Wiles, some of which were eventually published. The state plans to make the 'Track and Trace' system mandatory for its 200 durian farmers as it seeks to restore consumer confidence in the fruit, State Agrotechnology, Food Security and Cooperative Development Committee's Fahmi Zainol was cited as saying. About 60 growers have committed to using the system, which involves tagging the durians with a QR code that, once scanned, allows each fruit to be traced back to its farm, he said. The plan came about after local growers complained about the misuse and misrepresentation of Penang durians, he added. The fruit, with its creamy-like flesh and powerful aroma, is popular in Malaysia and much of South-east Asia. Malaysia exports durians to countries including China, and expects outbound shipments to rise to RM1.8 billion (S$547.5 million) by 2030, according to a 2024 Bernama article. Mr Ryan Satterthwaite, 19, died in the city of Palmerston North on May 26 after taking part in the challenge that aims to emulate the collisions that occur when muscle-bound rugby players come together on the field. 'All I can say to young adults who are participating is you've got some personal responsibility in this,' Mr Luxon told local media on May 30. 'You're hearing the advice from police, from the medical fraternity, from government, from principals saying don't do it. 'To the adults that are involved in more formal organisation of it and are influencing it and leading this out on social media, I think you need to stop and I can't be any clearer. 'The evidence is that it's a dumb thing to do and you should stop.' Organised 'run it straight' competitions, where competitors with no protection run at each other on a 20-metre grass strip for cash prizes, have been held in Australia and New Zealand over the last year.
