The Washington Commanders took a lot of pride in their defense this past season, but there is a very good chance that it will be even better in 2025.

In a recent article by PFF, they talk about some of the key players on every NFL team's starting lineup. For the Commanders, they list veteran cornerback Marshon Lattimore as an "X-factor" going into the 2025 season.
"The Commanders acquired Lattimore before last season's trade deadline to improve a mightily struggling cornerback unit. Unfortunately, he battled a hamstring injury down the stretch and played in only the team's final five games, including the postseason," PFF wrote. "A return to health and a full season of production closer to his career averages would vastly improve a cornerback unit that ranked dead last in PFF coverage grade last season."
He missed the majority of the games that he was on the Commanders in 2024, so he will be looking to stay healthy and on the field to help the team contend for the Super Bowl this season.
Lattimore won NFL Defensive Player of the Year after the New Orleans Saints drafted him with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has been named a Pro Bowler four times since then.

He has dealt with an umber of injuries over the past several seasons, keeping him from contributing as much as he knows he can. If he can stay healthy, he could help Washington contend with the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East.

Kate Rouch, the chief marketing officer at OpenAI, shared on Friday that she was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer weeks after assuming the role, which she called her "dream job," in December. In a thread posted on X, Rouch said she was sharing her story to help other women, adding, "We can't control what happens to us--but we can choose how we face it. My biggest lesson: no one fights alone." Prior to joining OpenAI as the company's first CMO, Rouch was CMO at Coinbase and, before that, spent over a decade at Meta, including as vice president, global head of brand and product marketing. Rouch said she started treatment right around the Super Bowl in February, when OpenAI aired its first-ever ad, and that she has since gone through 13 rounds of chemotherapy while leading OpenAI's marketing team. She wrote that she is expected to make a full recovery. "It has been the hardest season of life — for me, for my husband, and for our two young children," Rouch said, adding she has been supported by OpenAI "at every step." "Silicon Valley can be brutal and transactional. And yet — I've never felt more held," she said, adding that "people showed up in incredible and unexpected ways." Rouch also said OpenAI's ChatGPT has helped her navigate her diagnosis and treatment, including by explaining cancer in a way that is age-appropriate for her kids, helping her manage the side effects of chemo, and creating custom meditations. At the top spot in his list, he has Jets superstar Sauce Gardner. "Gardner's 91.9 PFF coverage grade since 2022 leads the league. He has forced a league-high 46 incompletions and allowed a league-low 0.60 yards per cover snap and 21.4% first-down-plus-touchdown rate over that span," Kosko wrote. "Unsurprisingly, Gardner's PFF advanced coverage grade ranks first, as well. While he might not shadow opposing wide receivers at a high rate, he has excelled when asked to do so."
