Social media reacts to Notre Dame football adding defensive end Tiki Hola
Notre Dame football's 2026 class got larger on Saturday, as 2026 Texas defensive lineman Tiki Hola committed.
It was a big recruiting win for the Irish, as they beat out rivals USC along with SMU for the 6-foot, 2-inch and 285-pound pass rusher. Notre Dame's class now stands with fifteen commitments, and ranks as the No. 2 overall class according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
Social media was quick to react to the news, as the Irish continued an impressive hot streak in recruiting. Find out below the best reactions to Hola joining the Notre Dame 2026 class.
Some highlights of what to expect from Hola
Hola is a load upfront, as not only does he keep offensive lineman from getting to the second-level, he's able to shed off blockers and make plays. He's close to having a college-ready frame, and with some time with the Notre Dame Strength & Conditioning coaches, an impact could happen early.
Underrated at his position
Edge rushers get most of the publicity along the defensive line, as Hola isn't ranked as high as some of his future teammates. That shouldn't matter much once they all enroll, as he plays in one of the best states for high school, and should over-perform his current ranking.
The Polynesian pipeline continues
Linebacker Kyngstonn Viliama-Asa's mother was pretty excited to see another Polynesian player joining the Irish recruiting class. Notre Dame has had multiple players shine from that area, and HOla could be another on that list.
The Irish are hot
While Notre Dame had a lull in commitments, behind the scenes they were putting in plenty of work. It's been a great last few months for Irish recruiting, and that doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon.
Hola's community has his back
You love to see when your high school if fully behind one of their own's decision, as you really can't go wrong with picking Notre Dame. You get a fantastic mix of athletics and academics, and recently they have shown you can contended for championships as well. Congrats Tiki, welcome to the Irish family!

NFL 'tush push' ruling draws USC reaction
NFL 'tush push' ruling draws USC reaction Recently, the NFL made headlines surrounding a vote on the legal status of one of its more popular and controversial plays. Known as the "tush push," the play essentially consists of offensive linemen getting behind the ball carrier—typically the quarterback—and pushing him forward past the line to gain. The play has been popularized by the Philadelphia Eagles in recent seasons. However, as USC fans know, its history goes back nearly two decades to October 15, 2005. That evening, USC running back Reggie Bush pushed quarterback Matt Leinart into the end zone to take down archrival Notre Dame. In late May, the NFL held a vote regarding the legalization status of the play, which has come under much scrutiny in recent seasons. After being put to vote, it was determined that the play will still be legal moving forward. Following the news, Leinart took to social media to share his thoughts on the matter. "Yo @ReggieBush we trendsetters," Leinart wrote. "The BUSH PUSH lives on!" This fall will mark 20 years since the original Bush Push took place on that fateful evening in South Bend, Indiana. Very few of the players who participated in that game are still playing football. But as long as the play continues to be used in the NFL, the legacy of the Bush Push will continue to live on. "

Colts' rookie QB Riley Leonard to see more reps with Anthony Richardson out for minicamp
Colts' rookie QB Riley Leonard to see more reps with Anthony Richardson out for minicamp With Anthony Richardson missing Colts' minicamp, rookie Riley Leonard will see more reps. With Anthony Richardson not participating in Indianapolis Colts' minicamp due to a shoulder injury, that not only means more reps for Daniel Jones but for rookie quarterback Riley Leonard as well. Prior to Richardson's shoulder aggravation, he and Jones had been splitting the first-team reps, and when one quarterback was with the starters, the other was with the second-team offense for that series. But now, with Richardson out for the next three practices at least, Leonard will presumably get a lot more of those backup quarterback reps. "With Richardson being out and the Colts not adding another player at the position, Leonard will get a lot more reps as the QB2, and Jason Bean as the QB3," wrote Jake Arthur of Horseshoe Huddle. "Leonard led the second-team offense to points during their two-minute drill, as rookie kicker Maddux Trujillo converted a 40-yard field goal to punctuate the drive." Leonard was a sixth-round pick in this past April's draft by the Colts after he helped lead Notre Dame to the National Championship Game in 2024. In his first season with Notre Dame, Leonard had his most efficient season, completing 66.4% of his passes while taking care of the football with the 12th-lowest turnover-worthy play rate among quarterbacks, per PFF. Along with throwing for 2,851 yards at 7.0 yards per attempt, Leonard rushed for nearly 1,000 yards as well. The Colts had shown interest in Leonard throughout the pre-draft process, and one aspect of his game that stood out to them, as area scout Mike Lacy recalled after the draft, was that he had some of his best games during Notre Dame's run through the College Football Playoffs. 'He played his best ball down the stretch as well, but I think seeing him one last time, at his Pro Day, watching him in-person, kind of polished-up mechanically, seeing him live, seeing his arm strength, what he has to offer physically, I think that definitely kind of put the stamp on him as a player," area scout Mike Lacy said via the Indy Star. Like any Day 3 pick, especially at quarterback, Leonard still needs time to develop his game, but during next week's practices, he'll get to apply everything he's learned and repped so far with the second team offense, providing perhaps a more true litmus test of where he's at in his learning curve.

Top Georgia quarterback recruit Teddy Jarrard visits Notre Dame
Top Georgia quarterback recruit Teddy Jarrard visits Notre Dame Top Georgia quarterback Teddy Jarrard visited Notre Dame for the first time Thursday, meeting with head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock and quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli. The Class of 2027 product from North Cobb (Kennesaw, GA) is a four-star prospect who is ranked as the 17th-best signal caller in this class, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Jarrard, a 6-foot-3, 190-pounder, has a bevy of offers from major schools, such as Georgia, Ohio State and Michigan, among others. The Fighting Irish have not yet extended an offer to a 2027 quarterback, but Jarrard could be the first. He plans to visit Purdue on Friday before heading to Penn State, LSU, Ohio State, Michigan, Mississippi State and Arkansas. But he would like to return to South Bend in the future. "Possibly for a game day or something if it comes that way," he said. "That'd be great. I had a great time up there and hopefully it comes to that where I'll be back for a game day." Many recruiting analysts believe Jarrard is ultimately destined for Georgia because of his appreciation for the program, and he is also the nephew of former Bulldogs letterman Cory Phillips. But don't count out the Irish, who could make Jarrard a centerpiece of the 2027 class.
