Ram Kapoor Says He Didn't Slim Down For Films: 'I Did It For Myself'
Last Updated: Ram Kapoor says he didn't lose weight for his career but for himself. 'I'm not a star, my name is not Khan,' he tells Farah Khan in a new vlog. Actor Ram Kapoor recently grabbed attention on social media for his dramatic physical transformation, sparking whispers that he may have taken Ozempic—a popular weight loss drug among celebrities. But the actor has now set the record straight: his transformation was all-natural and entirely self-motivated. In a new vlog posted by filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan, she paid a visit to Ram and wife Gautami Kapoor's home, accompanied by her beloved cook, Dilip. The lighthearted banter and heartwarming exchanges between the trio made for an entertaining watch, but it was Ram's candid reflections that stood out. As the group settled in, Farah asked Dilip if he recognized the couple. Pointing at Ram, Dilip quipped, 'Tiger Shroff," and then proceeded to call Gautami 'Deepika Padukone." The unexpected compliment had Gautami beaming with joy. Farah, clearly impressed by Ram's fitness at 50, asked him if his slimmer look had opened more doors in the industry. Ram's response was quietly powerful, 'Some people reach a level where they get work because they have nothing more to prove. I am no star, I'll never be a star, my name is not Khan. Main size mein bada hoon ya chhota, kaam milta hai. Maine yeh kaam ke liye nahi kiya, career ke liye nahi kiya—apne liye kiya. I promised myself that at the age of 50, I would do it." Farah, taken aback by his humility, quickly cut in: 'He is a big star!"—a sentiment echoed by many fans who have followed Ram's journey for decades. The actor, known for his grounded persona and versatile performances, is currently seen in Mistry—the official Hindi remake of the hit series Monk. He plays a former Mumbai Police officer battling severe OCD while helping ACP Sehmat Siddiqui (Mona Singh) crack complicated cases. The Rishab Seth directorial is available for streaming on JioHotstar and also features Shikha Talsania, Kshitish Date, and Namantar Rajendra in pivotal roles. First Published:
