Speaker Berri meets Omani FM to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and his accompanying delegation at his office in the Parliament.
The meeting, attended by Oman's Ambassador to Lebanon, Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Saeed Al Saidi, and Berri's media advisor, Ali Hamdan, focused on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, especially the repercussions of the Israeli aggression at various levels.
The discussion also covered bilateral relations between Lebanon and Oman, exploring ways to strengthen ties, particularly in the legislative domain.
Minister Al Busaidi said after the meeting, "I am happy to be here today to meet with Speaker Nabih Berri. The meeting was highly productive, reflecting the depth and strength of the Lebanese-Omani relationship, and it demonstrates our mutual aspirations for greater unity, solidarity, and cooperation between our peoples and countries in the future."
He added, "The warm welcome from Speaker Berri and the positive meeting reflect our pride in the strong and enduring ties between our two countries."

Le Drian emphasized that "the current dynamic in Parliament is essential during this period, especially as Lebanon has a unique opportunity, not only to restore internal cohesion but also to improve its external image and regain trust with the international community." He continued, "Lebanon does not have the luxury of time, so it must expedite the approval of the required reform laws. France has a responsibility related to its call for an international conference and mobilizing donor countries to support Lebanon once these laws are passed." For his part, Bou Saab noted that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri requested the opening of an extraordinary session to accelerate the approval of reform law projects. He added that Parliament is still awaiting the government's submission of the financial gap law project so that it can review and approve it, along with the bank restructuring law, which cannot take effect without the approval of the financial gap law. Bou Saab mentioned that other laws under review in Parliament were also discussed, including the parliamentary election law and the Law of the Sea Treaty. The Deputy Speaker requested support from both France and the United States, as guarantor countries of the ceasefire, to pressure Israel and ensure respect for the ceasefire agreement.

UNIFIL statement on patrol obstruction Hallusiyat al Tahta
The following is statement issued by UNIFIL: 'This morning, UNIFIL peacekeepers conducting a planned patrol coordinated with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) were confronted by a group of individuals in civilian clothing in the vicinity of Hallusiyat al Tahta, in southern Lebanon. The group attempted to obstruct the patrol using aggressive means, including throwing stones at the peacekeepers. One peacekeeper was struck, fortunately, no injuries were reported. In response, UNIFIL personnel employed non-lethal measures to ensure the safety of both the patrol members and those present. The LAF was promptly informed and arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. The situation was quickly brought under control, and the patrol was able to proceed. Freedom of movement is a core requirement for the implementation of UNIFIL's mandate. This includes the ability to operate independently and impartially, as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Any restriction on this freedom — while conducting operational activities with or without LAF — constitutes a violation of that resolution. It is unacceptable that UNIFIL peacekeepers continue to be targeted. UNIFIL calls on the Lebanese authorities to take all necessary measures to ensure that its peacekeepers can carry out their duties without obstruction or threat.'
