DPIIT inks pact with Hafele India to help startups in manufacturing sector
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on Thursday said it has inked a pact with furniture sector firm Hafele India to help startups in the manufacturing sector.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Hafele will drive initiatives that support product innovation, local sourcing, and entrepreneurship through targeted investments, mentorship, and integration into global value chains.
It will expand its support to startups and MSMEs by offering access to infrastructure, supplier development opportunities, technical collaboration, and market access, the department said.
The DPIIT will facilitate ecosystem access through Startup India, enabling startup connections, program participation, and co-branding.
Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director, DPIIT, said, "Through investments, mentorship, and ecosystem partnerships, we aim to empower startups that are building the next generation of globally competitive manufacturing capabilities." Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, said that the partnership will bring together global best practices and local entrepreneurial energy to drive sustainable manufacturing growth aligned with the Make in India vision.
The MoU was signed by Jarangal and Frank Schloeder, Managing Director - South Asia, Hafele India.

DPIIT secy reviews infra projects of five states
New Delhi: The government has reviewed key issues affecting mega infrastructure projects in Jharkhand, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh, the commerce and industry ministry said Wednesday. 18 issues across 11 significant projects in Jharkhand with a total cost above Rs 34,213 crores and two issues across two projects costing Rs 943.04 crore in Sikkim were reviewed during the meeting chaired by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia on June 24. 'The meeting, attended by senior officials from central ministries, state governments, and project proponents, focused on expediting issue resolution through enhanced inter-ministerial and state coordination facilitated by the Project Monitoring Group (PMG),' the ministry said. Three issues across two projects in Nagaland, one issue and one project in Assam and seven issues across three projects including a private project in Arunachal Pradesh were reviewed during the meeting. The Patratu Thermal Power Station Expansion Project Phase-I in Jharkhand was reviewed in detail. 'The 2,880 MW Dibang Hydropower Project in Arunachal Pradesh…will feature India's tallest dam and generate 11,223 million units of clean energy annually. Scheduled for commissioning by February 2032, it will aid flood control, provide 13% free power to the state, and support Net Zero goals,' the ministry said. Similarly, the Kohima Bypass Road in Nagaland will decongest Kohima city, improve intra- and inter-state connectivity, and promote trade, tourism, and regional integration. 'Issue pertaining to a private sector project of GeoEnpro Petroleum Limited in the State of Arunachal Pradesh , worth Rs 1,000 crore, was also reviewed during the meeting,' the ministry said, adding that Bhatia advised the state government to accord high priority to the matter and extend all necessary support to GeoEnpro Petroleum Limited to ensure timely resolution of the project-related issues.

Centre reviews stalled infra projects worth ₹75,800 crore across five states
The Centre has undertaken a detailed review of stalled infrastructure projects worth over ₹ 75,800 crore across Jharkhand and four Northeastern states, as part of its ongoing push to fast-track execution through improved coordination and time-bound issue resolution, the ministry of commerce and industry said on Thursday. A high-level meeting chaired by Amardeep Singh Bhatia, secretary of the department for promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT), was held on 24 June to assess critical bottlenecks in key infrastructure projects in Jharkhand, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh. In Jharkhand alone, 18 issues spanning 11 major projects, with a combined investment value of over ₹ 34,213 crore, were examined, the ministry said in a statement. The North-East saw significant reviews as well. A single, high-value project worth ₹ 6,700 crore was assessed in Assam. Seven issues across three projects, including a ₹ 1,000 crore private sector initiative by GeoEnpro Petroleum Ltd, were taken up, totalling ₹ 33,469 crore in investments in Arunachal Pradesh. Sikkim had two project-related issues involving investments of ₹ 943 crore, while Nagaland saw the review of three issues tied to two projects worth ₹ 544.65 crore. 'The meeting, attended by senior officials from central ministries, state governments, and project proponents, focused on expediting issue resolution through enhanced inter-ministerial and state coordination facilitated by the Project Monitoring Group (PMG),' the ministry said. New Delhi [India] June 26 (ANI): Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) held a high-level meeting to review key issues affecting mega infrastructure projects in the states of Jharkhand, Sikkim, Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh on 24 June meeting, chaired by Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary, DPIIT, discussed and reviewed 18 issues across 11 significant projects in the state of Jharkhand, with a total cost of all projects exceeding Rs 34,213 crores. Additionally, 2 issues across 2 projects were reviewed in the state of Sikkim with a total cost of Rs 943.04 crores, 3 issues across 2 projects were reviewed in the state of Nagaland with a total cost of Rs 544.65 crores, 1 issue and 1 project were reviewed in the state of Assam with a total cost of Rs 6,700 crores and 07 issue across 03 projects were private Project in the state of Arunachal Pradesh with a total cost of Rs 33,469 crore was also reviewed. Furthermore, the ministry said that, the Patratu Thermal Power Station Expansion Project Phase-I pertaining to the state of Jharkhand was reviewed in detail. This project aims to install a total capacity of 4,000 MW in phases, with Phase I comprising three units of 800 MW each, totalling 2,400 MW. The project is based on supercritical technology, which enables improved efficiency and reduced emissions. Water for the plant will be drawn from the nearby Nalkari Dam, while coal supply has been secured through NTPC's captive coal with Patratu Thermal Power Station Expansion Project, 2,880 MW Dibang Hydropower Project in Arunachal Pradesh was also reviewed, which is being developed by NHPC under the Ministry of Power, will feature India's tallest dam and generate 11,223 million units of clean energy annually. Scheduled for commissioning by February 2032, it will aid flood control, provide 13 per cent free power to the state, and support Net Zero Kohima Bypass Road, a project by NHIDCL, was also discussed in the meeting.
