Lumineers book Comerica Park show for September; Hardy adds 2nd night at Pine Knob
The Lumineers will play the biggest Michigan show of their career when they visit Comerica Park on Sept. 13 as part of their Automatic World Tour.
The Colorado folk-rock band, led by Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites and best known for hits such as 'Ophelia' and 'Ho Hey,' announced its North American run Wednesday, just ahead of the Valentine's Day release of 'Automatic,' the group's fifth studio album.
Comerica Park is among just a handful of stadiums on the Lumineers' upcoming summer docket, which will kick off July 3 in Saratoga Springs, New York. The run also includes an Oct. 1 date at Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena.
Tickets for the Lumineers' North American tour stops, including Detroit and Grand Rapids, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 through Ticketmaster. A band presale window will start at 10 a.m. Tuesday, and registration is available now at the band's website.
The Backseat Lovers and Chance Peña will open the Comerica Park show.
Country-rock artist Hardy, meanwhile, has added a second night to his already announced Pine Knob Music Theatre stop. The Mississippi-bred singer-songwriter now has shows slotted on Aug. 22 and 23 as part of his Jim Bob World Tour, announced earlier this week. Koe Wetzel, Stephen Wilson Jr. and Sikarus will open.
Tickets for both of Hardy's Pine Knob dates will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.

Les Misérables actors to boycott Kennedy Center performance over Trump attendance
At least 10 cast members from the current North American touring production of Les Misérables are choosing not to participate in an upcoming performance at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, in order to boycott the anticipated attendance of Donald Trump, according to CNN. Cast members were reportedly given the option to opt out of the 11 June show. The production has not publicly identified which individuals will not be performing. This performance coincides with a fundraising event Trump is hosting to support the Kennedy Center. Since becoming chair of the theater's board in February, the president has reshaped the board with his own appointees, and the former Kennedy Center president Deborah Rutter has been replaced by the Trump ally Richard Grenell. He added that the center 'will no longer fund intolerance. Any performer who isn't professional enough to perform for patrons of all backgrounds, regardless of political affiliation, won't be welcomed.' Grenell continued: 'In fact, we think it would be important to out those vapid and intolerant artists to ensure producers know who they shouldn't hire – and that the public knows which shows have political litmus tests to sit in the audience. 'The Kennedy Center wants to be a place where people of all political stripes sit next to each other and never ask who someone voted for but instead enjoys a performance together.' It was reported by the New York Times that on 6 May, a House committee approved a proposed $257m budget allocation for the Kennedy Center, after Trump had publicly criticized the condition of the building. The president's request for funding follows his recent moves to cut federal support for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). These cuts could result in rescinded grants for non-profit theaters across the country if approved by Congress. Several arts organizations have sued the NEA over its new requirements following Trump's executive order barring the use of federal funds for the promotion of 'gender ideology'. The boycott by Les Misérables cast members is the latest in a string of stars pulling out of shows and positions at the center since Trump assumed control. Several shows have been called off, including a stop of the Hamilton tour that was canceled by the production itself, and Finn, a coming-of-age story about a young shark, which was canceled by the Kennedy Center. Trump had previously posted on social media expressing his desire to eliminate 'drag shows' and 'woke' content from the venue, but did not clarify which productions he was targeting. During his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump had used music from Les Misérables during his campaign rallies, which the co-creators of the musical publicly decried.

Their string of performances will kick off with the 6 God's three-night headlining set at Wireless Festival in London, England, from July 11th to July 13th. Drizzy will be joined by PND and Summer Walker the first night, 'The Mandem' on the second, and Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel on the final evening. Given his affinity for UK rappers and previous collaborations with Central Cee, Dave, Skepta, and more, it is easy to assume who will be part of 'The Mandem' joining him for the second Wireless Festival show. 'Wicked: For Good' trailer drops today: Here's how to watch
Get ready to be changed "for good," because the trailer for the second " Wicked" film debuts Wednesday. According to a Universal Pictures press release, fans will get a "special first look" at the new trailer for "Wicked: For Good" -- the second half of the two-part "Wicked" film series -- on Wednesday evening, when the first "Wicked" film returns to theaters for a special one-night-only screening. The trailer will debut simultaneously in all North American time zones at more than 100 theater locations in the U.S. and Canada, according to the press release, "so that all attendees will be able to see the trailer at once, no matter where they live." Screenings will take place at 3 p.m. PT, 4 p.m. MT, 5 p.m. CT and 6 p.m. ET. Moviegoers who watch the film in theaters Wednesday will also receive exclusive "Wicked: For Good" giveaways, including an exclusive "Wicked: For Good" commemorative poster, according to the press release. Norbert Leo Butz played Fiyero, Michelle Federer portrayed Nessarose and Carole Shelley played Madame Morrible.
