3 young children found in Inkster parking lot after vehicle theft at Wayne gas station

Three children were inside a vehicle when a suspect stole it from outside a Wayne gas station.
The truck was found in Dearborn Heights, while the children were found in a parking lot in Inkster.
A 25-year-old man was arrested.
WAYNE, Mich. (FOX 2) - A vehicle thief is in custody after stealing a pickup truck with three children inside from a Wayne gas station late Sunday, police said.
According to police, the mother of the children stopped at a Mobil at Michigan Avenue and Venoy Road around 11 p.m. While inside the gas station, a man stole the vehicle that had a 3-year-old and two 18-month-old children inside and fled.
The Chevrolet Avalanche was last seen traveling east on Michigan Avenue as a "be on the lookout" alert was put out for the vehicle. Shortly after, an undercover Dearborn detective spotted the Avalanche parked in the 27000 block of Cherry Hill in Dearborn Heights. Minutes later, a caller reported hearing children crying in a parking lot in the area of Middlebelt and Grandview in Inkster, about two miles away from where the truck was found.
Police went to the parking lot and found the three children unharmed in their car seats. They were returned to their mother after being evaluated by EMS.
A 25-year-old man was arrested in connection with the crime.
An investigation is ongoing.

Solo vehicle rollover crash injures five people, including three children, CHP says
Three children were seriously injured in a solo vehicle crash in Merced County. The California Highway Patrol said the overturned Toyota Corolla happened at 8:30 p.m. on eastbound Highway 152, near I-5. Officers determined the vehicle was traveling eastbound 152, attempting to take the northbound I-5 connector ramp, but for unknown reasons was unable to negotiate the curve in the ramp and overturned into a dirt embankment, Sgt. Adrian Lopez said. Passers-by tried to help before officers and EMS arrived. The three children — ages 5 to 10 — were not wearing a seat belt and two were possibly ejected, Lopez said. The driver had major injuries and the passenger had moderate injuries, Lopez said. The three children were airlifted to Valley Children's Hospital in Madera. Their conditions are unknown. Alcohol and drugs are not a factor, Lopez said.

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Cleveland councilman tells the FOX 8 I-Team that a child had to be rescued from a city pool and rushed to a hospital Friday evening. Councilman Richard Starr said a young boy climbed the fence at the Lonnie Burten Recreation Center and then jumped in the pool, even though it was closed. The boy was unable to swim and his friends started yelling for help, Starr said. Watch: Residents called 911 for hours about crowds filling streets — where was Cleveland police? He added that some 'older kids' who were playing basketball heard the commotion and ran to help. They were able to get the boy out of the pool. A few minutes later, police and EMS arrived, Starr said. 'He was taken to the hospital and I am praying for him and his family,' Starr said.
