Two pets dead after Spencerport garage fire; cause under probe

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two pets were found dead after a garage collapsed due to a fire on Brockport-Spencerport Road, according to the Spencerport Fire District.
Spencerport fire crews responded to the area at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving multiple calls for the fire.
When the first truck responded, firefighters saw heavy fire coming from the garage, declaring a working fire. Crews noted the garage was detached from the house, about 250 feet from the road.
When firefighters started to suppress the fire, a majority of the structure collapsed. The Spencerport Fire District got the fire under control with no injuries to firefighters or people on scene.
Two pets were found dead by crews on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Monroe County Fire Bureau.
