Barcelona legend Lionel Messi has this week provided an insight his personal favourite goal of his career.
And the Argentine's pick may come as something of a surprise…
Veteran attacker Messi has of course been responsible for some of the most spectacular goals in modern history.

From solo specials to thunderous left-footed drives and sumptuous free-kicks, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner's efforts in front of goal will go down in football folklore.
Immediately springing to mind when thinking back to Messi's very best goals are those against the likes of Bayern Munich, Athletic Club, and Getafe.
It is another, though, which the 37-year-old himself considers to be his personal favourite.
Speaking during an interview with Inter Miami, as part of the club's 'A Goal in Life' campaign, this week, Messi was drawn on the topic of his best goals ever.
And the Barcelona icon went on to highlight his crucial Blaugrana header against Manchester United in the Champions League finale in 2009:

'I've scored many goals that might have been even more beautiful and valuable, also because of their importance, but the header in the Champions League final against Manchester United has always been my favourite.'

Tottenham Hotspur are set to part company with women's team head coach Robert Vilahamn. The decision follows on from men's team head coach Ange Postecoglou leaving Spurs, just 16 days after winning the Europa League final. Analysis from Jay Harris Vilahamn joined Spurs in the same summer as Postecoglou and their reigns followed similar trajectories. They both enjoyed promising debut seasons before everything unravelled in the second year. Spurs finished sixth in the WSL under Vilahamn in the 2023-24 campaign and reached the FA Cup final which they lost 4-0 to Manchester United. Spurs lost several key players in the summer of 2024 including Grace Clinton and Celine Bizet. Clinton returned to her parent club Manchester United following a successful loan and Bizet joined them permanently too. Spurs endured a dreadful start to the season as they only won one of their opening five games. They were unbeaten for four matches across December and January but have been awful in the second half of the campaign. Vilahamn's side lost five matches in a row, including being thrashed 5-0 by their north London rivals Arsenal. They have not won a game since a 3-2 victory over Crystal Palace on January 26. Speculation over the 40-year-old's future intensified last month when FIFA President Gianni Infantino said discussions were underway about Ronaldo playing in the Club World Cup, despite Al-Nassr failing to qualify. Al-Nassr's sporting director Fernando Hierro said last month they were negotiating with Ronaldo over a contract extension but faced competition from a host of clubs eager to sign the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. Ronaldo himself added to the uncertainty after Al-Nassr's season-ending match at Al-Fateh, posting on social media: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written." Asked about the possibility of signing for another club in the coming days in order to play at the Club World Cup later this month, Ronaldo told reporters: "It's irrelevant, at the moment it doesn't make sense to talk about things other than the national team. "There has been plenty of contact (from clubs), I see things that make sense, others that don't. You can't go to all of them (clubs), you have to think short, medium and long term. They're completely different generations, a generation that's starting out, another that's finishing, which is my case. "In reality it's not like that, it's a team against a team. It will always be like that...
