Mumford & Sons release new album, announce show at Xcel Energy Center
Mumford and Sons are back with a new album and an expansive tour.
The band released their fifth studio album, Rushmere, earlier this week, a release that was accompanied by the unveiling of a tour that will bring them to the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Oct. 9.
The Twin Cities sit near the end of that long tour, which will kick off in Oregon on June 5. They'll also make stops in other Upper Midwest cities, including Chicago (Oct. 8), Milwaukee (Oct. 11), and Detroit (Oct. 20).
Throughout that last leg of the tour, the foot-stomping indie-folk group will have Michael Kiwanuka opening.
Tickets are on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 4. A dollar from every ticket will be donated to War Child, which works to protect, educate, and "stand up for the rights of children affected by war."

Starting June 5, Mumford and Sons officially launch the North American leg of their international 'Rushmere Tour' in support of their recently-released album. New York-based fans are in luck, too. This 42-concert trek includes four stops in the state. To kick their NY stint off, the 'I Will Wait' group headlines at Saratoga Springs' Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 21. Nearly two months later, the folk rockers drop into Forest Hills' Forest Hills Stadium on Friday, Aug. 8 and Saturday, Aug. 9. They'll close the New York portion of their run with a show at Buffalo's Keybank Center on Thursday, Oct. 16. They won't be going it alone at these shows either. The group has enlisted Nathaniel Rateliff, Japanese Breakfast, Gregory Alan Isakov, Sierra Ferrell, Lucius and more to open for them on select dates. And, while we can't predict what they'll take to the stage on this sprawling multi-country marathon of a tour, we expect a healthy dose of 'Rushmere' along with the hits you know and love. At their short surprise Stagecoach set, the ensemble performed nine songs according to Set List FM including the biggies like 'Little Lion Man,' 'The Cave' and 'I Will Wait.' On July 19, the band will rock out at Whitefish, MT's three-day Under The Big Sky Festival, which goes down at the Big Mountain Ranch. They'll be joined on the bill by country icons Tyler Childers, Wynonna Judd, The Red Clay Strays, Wyatt Flores and Willow Avalon among others over the long weekend in Whitefish. If you'd like to be there, single and multi-day Under The Big Sky passes can be picked up here. Mumford and Sons set list In tandem with the release of the album, Mumford and Sons performed a handful of intimate pre-tour shows this spring. Based on our findings, the final gig went down at New York's Brooklyn Paramount Theater on March 26. For a closer look at what the band played that evening, take a look at what Set List FM reported. 01.) 'Rushmere' 02.) 'Babel' 03.) 'Little Lion Man' 04.) 'Lover of the Light' 05.) 'Caroline' 06.) 'The Cave' Mumford and Sons new music On March 28, Mumford and Sons released their fifth studio album 'Rushmere,' which is named after where the band members first met in Wimbledon, U.K. And, for a record by one of the world's biggest bands, it's not long. In fact, the ten-track record is quite lean and mean, clocking in at a surprisingly brief 34 minutes and 22 seconds. This bloat-free offering starts small with the unassuming 'Malibu,' which builds into a longing chorus complete with an anthemic piano accompaniment. From there, Mumford employs his trademark yelp for the upbeat, hard-charging 'Caroline.' The switch from inspirational ballad to friendly jam is proof positive that the band still knows what make them so special- emotional epics and singalongs. They combine those qualities to great effect in the title track 'Rushmere.' The jangling three-minute tune is a ramshackle good time in step with the group's biggest hits. It's intimate, it's epic, it's inviting, it's everything you want a Mumford and Sons song to be complete with an unforgettable refrain — 'light me up I'm wasted in the dark/rush me a restless heart to the end' — that you won't be able to stop wailing in your best Marcus impression. Other standouts here include the funky, minimalistic, hand-clapping 'Truth' (arguably our favorite on the record, for the record), the so delicate it might wither away 'Where It Belongs' and 'Carry On,' which perfectly captures the bittersweet feeling of 'closing up shop.' If you'd like to hear the short yet epic album for yourself, you can find 'Rushmere' here. Mumford and Sons to bring folk tunes to Berkeley
Mumford and Sons emerged from the West London folk community in the late 2000s, and have since become global sensations. The group formed in 2007, and is composed of multi-instrumentalists Marcus Mumford, Ted Dwane and Ben Lovett. They began to break into the U.S. mainstream in the early 2010s with tracks such as 'Little Lion Man' and 'The Cave,' eventually earning their first Grammy Award for their sophomore album 'Babel,' which released in 2012. Mumford and Sons have continued to release records periodically since, and Mumford ventured out on his debut solo project, 'Self-Titled,' in 2022 while continuing to make music with the band. He performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass that same year. Now, fans can catch the folk rock group at UC Berkeley's Greek Theater on Monday-Tuesday, June 9-10.

Who is the mystery Glastonbury Patchwork guest? Fans think they have figured it out
It is one of the most fun parts of the Glastonbury lead up year after year. Trying to work out which major star could surprise us all with a performance on the Pyramid Stage. Each year organisers hold back on revealing every single detail on who we will see facing the stage, and 2025 is no different. But this year festival fans seem convinced that they have worked out who the mystery 'Patchwork' guest is on the 2025 line-up. The mystery guest plans to perform on the Pyramid Stage from 6pm to 7pm on the Saturday, and so far a number of big name stars and bands have been thrust into the pool of names being debated. Oasis, Mumford And Sons, Sam Fender, Harry Styles, and Lewis Capaldi have all been mentioned, and fans have their reasons for summarising their guesses. Named only as 'Patchwork' on the official line-up, it has led many to think that - despite their protests - it could be Oasis before they kick off their sold out arena tour this summer. One wrote: 'Patchwork? Oasis I know they've said no, but that doesn't carry a great deal of weight... Patchwork... Patching things up... might be a bit of a reach but MY GOD it would be good.' Others pointed to the book named 'Patchwork' by author Sylvia Haim, to suggest it would be the band HAIM while others were left convinced it was Pulp following the release of their latest album: Maybe even more clear a link: "Patchwork is a German book written by a novelist called Sylvia Haim" — Jamie (@BelishaBeacon25) June 3, 2025 @glastonbury @secretglasto My literary wife has pointed out that Patchwork is a novel by Sylvia Haim, suggesting the Saturday pyramid slot is none other than @HAIMtheband .... What do you think? #glastonbury2025 — Tim Street (@Tims_Pants) June 3, 2025 Hoping Patchwork are Pulp, but the connection to Haim seems quite solid. wondering are they that big a deal to be a secret act? Maybe I'm a bit old and just don't know what's hot 😂 — Surreynurse 🌱FBPE (@Surreynurse1) June 3, 2025 Also on the Pulp thing — Sparra (@andysparra) June 4, 2025 Other guesses included old favourites at Glasto, Coldplay: 'Patchwork' at Glastonbury - quite simple - the old favourites of course...#patchwork#coldplay#Glastonbury — Puffguin Esquire (@PuffguinEsquire) June 3, 2025 But some thought it would be a more out there option, such as Harry Styles, because of a famous outfit choice he once made: The secret is out. Remember THAT @JW_ANDERSON patchwork knit cardigan worn by THE @Harry_Styles? We're happy to confirm that the #TikTok trending sensation is joining our fashion collection in 2021. Read more here: — V&A (@V_and_A) November 21, 2020 My guess (the famous patchwork cardigan) — travelmeerkat (@travelmeerkat) June 3, 2025 Others were very honest by the fact that they simply do not have a clue: Me currently trying to figure out who Patchwork are…#Glastonbury #Glasto — Katey (@kateymania) June 3, 2025 So far it's...A book by Sylvia patching things up.A Wombats patchwork Styles patchwork to do with miss-shapes and with patchwork tattoos.A Mudford and Sons song that may or may not in all 🤷♂️ — The Glasto Thingy (@TheGlastoThingy) June 3, 2025 But at least fans now only have a few weeks left to wait and see. Glastonbury has revealed the line-up for this year's event as it announced the headline acts which include The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo. Also on the bill is Biffy Clyro, Rod Stewart, Busta Rhymes, Raye, The Prodigy, Charli XCX and Nile Rodgers and Chic among others.
