White House Joins Buzz Around Trump's Latest Nickname, Shares 'Daddy's Home' Video

Last Updated: The video, shared by the White House, playfully embraces the nickname, which emerged from an exchange between Trump and Rutte. The White House on Thursday joined the buzz around US President Donald Trump's latest 'Daddy" nickname, given by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the recent summit, sharing a minute-long video showing Trump's interactions with Rutte and other leaders at the summit, set to the track Daddy's Home by Usher. The video, shared by the White House, playfully embraces the nickname, which emerged from an exchange between Trump and Rutte. 🎶 Daddy's home… Hey, hey, hey, Donald J. Trump attended the NATO Summit in The Hague, Netherlands. — The White House (@WhiteHouse) June 26, 2025 NATO Secretary-General praised Trump's military strikes on Iran, describing the US President as a firm parental figure stepping in during a crisis. Trump compared Iran and Israel to 'two kids in a school yard". 'They've had a big fight, like two kids in a schoolyard," Trump said. 'You know, they fight like hell. You can't stop them. Let them fight for about two, three minutes, then it's easier to stop," he added. To this, Rutte extended the metaphor, saying, 'Then daddy has to sometimes use strong language." Trump laughed at Rutte's 'Daddy" remark and acknowledged the use of his unexpected expletive. 'Everyone said 'Well, you have to use a certain word'," he said. Rutte was referring to Trump's angry reaction earlier in the day at the White House, where the president was visibly upset about the possibility of the Iran-Israel ceasefire falling apart. 'The two countries have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f*** they're doing, do you understand that?" Trump had told reporters. When asked later about the nickname, Trump said he didn't mind it. 'He did it very affectionately," Trump said. The exchange also drew laughter from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who was present when Trump responded to Rutte's comment. The Dutch leader also credited Trump for pushing NATO members toward higher defense spending. 'Would you ever think this would be the result of this summit if he would not have been re-elected president?" he asked rhetorically. First Published: June 26, 2025, 10:37 IST

Bromance or diplomatic gambit: Mark Rutte clarifies his 'daddy' remarks as he charms Trump at Nato Summit

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte clarified his 'daddy' remark to US President Donald Trump as he charmed the POTUS for the benefit of the group read more The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Mark Rutte , clarified his 'daddy' remark for US President Donald Trump. On Wednesday, Rutte said that he doesn't consider the American president as 'daddy,' he was just using it as a metaphor for the dynamics between the international organisation. 'The daddy thing, I didn't call him 'daddy,'' Rutte told reporters later in the day. 'What I said is that sometimes, in Europe, I hear countries sometimes saying, 'Hey, Mark, will the U.S. stay with us?' And I said that sounds a little bit like a small child asking his daddy, 'Hey, are you still staying with the family?' So in that sense, I used 'daddy' — not that I was calling President Trump daddy," he furthered. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Rutte drew media attention and even jokes from Trump after he called the POTUS 'daddy' while describing the president's response to the Israel and Iran's military conflict. 'Sometimes, daddy needs to use strong language,' Rutte said, referring to how Trump threw out the 'f-word' while talking about the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict. In a separate press conference, Trump laughed off the remark, leaving those in the room laughing. 'He did it very affectionately though, 'Daddy, you're my daddy,'' Trump said, as Secretary of State Marco Rubio chuckled behind him. Bromance or diplomatic genius? It is pertinent to note that the former Dutch prime minister is no stranger to dealings with Trump, with him deploying his charm in several visits to Washington, DC, during Trump's first term in office. However, many believe that Rutte's tactics came from the same playbook used by French President Emmanuel Macron . Even Finnish President Alex Stubb bonded with him over rounds of golf, and Italian far-right Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has won a reputation as something of a Trump whisperer: She's a 'fantastic woman,' Trump said after meeting her. More or less, Rutte's charm seems to be working on Trump. 'I think he likes me. If he doesn't, I'll let you know. I'll come back and I'll hit him hard,' Trump announced in his Wednesday news conference. The Dutchman went out and about hailing rump's strikes on Iran – a conflict technically outside the NATO wheelhouse – as the president railed against suggestions in a leaked government assessment that undercut his claim the strikes 'obliterated' parts of Iran's nuclear program. 'The secretary general knows that personal relationships go a long way with this administration,' Torrey Taussig, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council and a former NATO policy adviser at the Pentagon, told CNN after the meeting. 'I do think this is a kind of hold-your-nose moment. Ensure there are no fireworks in The Hague. Get a good photo op and go home,' she added. However, only time will tell whether Rutte's gambit worked or not. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Who Is Jaskarn aka Jacky Jhaj? ‘British Paedophile' In Spotlight For ‘Marrying' 9-Year-Old

Last Updated: Jacky Jhaj has been charged with fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and identity theft. A British man has been arrested at Disneyland Paris for allegedly planning a fake wedding involving a nine-year-old Ukrainian girl. The man, identified as Jaskarn Jhaj, also known as Jacky Jhaj, was detained last weekend after an actor involved in the event tipped off police. French authorities revealed that the so-called 'mock wedding" was organised under the guise of a film shoot, with over 100 French extras reportedly involved. The event was set to take place within the theme park, which had been rented out for the production. Jhaj, 39, was later charged with fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and identity theft and placed in pretrial detention. Convicted Paedophile This is not the first time Jhaj has drawn serious attention. According to a report in the BBC, he is a convicted paedophile in the UK with a known criminal record related to child sexual offences. In 2016, Jhaj was convicted of sexual activity with two 15-year-old girls. Since then, he has been placed on the UK sex offenders register and has been under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. He has also spent time in prison, but after his release, he continued to stage productions which involved children or young people. In 2023, he staged a fake film premiere in London's Leicester Square. For this, he hired hundreds of children from casting agencies, some of whom were as young as six. He wanted them to 'act like fans, scream his name and try to touch him." Many of the agencies reportedly had no idea about his criminal background. Teenage girls involved in the event told the BBC they were not informed who they were being asked to perform for. In another disturbing incident in June last year, Jhaj was spotted giving gifts to children outside a dance audition. A parent recognised him and raised the alarm. Two months later, he was filmed posing nude in front of a 'mocked-up" BBC News lorry that had been set on fire in public. YouTube Videos BBC also mentioned that Jhaj had uploaded videos of these staged events to a YouTube channel designed to look like an official performer's account. The channel reportedly had over 12 million subscribers and more than six million views. One of the videos, which was uploaded on a different channel, included secretly recorded footage of one of the 15-year-old girls he was convicted of sexually exploiting. Her family told the BBC that the video 'destroyed" her life and remained online for four years before it was taken down. Many such videos remained on his YouTube channel until last September, when Google, which owns the platform, took them down. BBC also gathered records from videographers, production assistants and technicians who worked on some of the events. It mentioned that the cost of hiring and venues 'has run into hundreds of thousands of pounds." Disneyland Paris 'Wedding" Production According to French media, the mock wedding was scheduled to take place at Disneyland Paris on Saturday. A 55-year-old actor, paid €12,000 (over Rs 12 lakh) to play the bride's father, became suspicious and alerted police on the morning of the shoot. Authorities say the nine-year-old Ukrainian girl had arrived in France two days before the event. She was not 'forced to play the role" of the bride. The French prosecutor stated that she had not been subjected to violence. Disneyland Paris had reportedly been booked under a fake Latvian ID. The park allows private rentals outside of normal operating hours and was unaware of the organiser's true identity. Officials now believe the cost of the mock wedding may have exceeded €130,000 (approximately Rs 1.3 crore). Wanted In The UK Following his arrest, the UK's Metropolitan Police confirmed that Jhaj is wanted in Britain 'for breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and a breach of a Sex Offenders' Register notification requirement." Authorities in the UK are now working with French officials on the case. Location : Delhi, India, India First Published: June 26, 2025, 10:03 IST News viral Who Is Jaskarn aka Jacky Jhaj?
