Blazers exercise team option for G Rayan Rupert
June 28 - The Portland Trail Blazers exercised the 2025-26 team option for guard Rayan Rupert.
Rupert was selected by the Blazers with the 43rd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. As a rookie, he appeared in 39 games, making 12 starts, averaging 4.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists.
Last season, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.3 rebounds across 52 games in his sophomore campaign.
The 6'6" guard put up better numbers in his G-League career. In 17 total appearances with the Rip City Remix, he recorded 16.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.4 steals.
The 21-year-old will carry a $2.22 million cap hit in the final year of his contract. He is set to become a restricted free agent in 2026.

June 29 - Kyle Tucker drilled a three-run home run in the top of the fourth inning, the third homer slugged by the Chicago Cubs in that frame en route to a 12-3 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday in the middle game of a three-game interleague series. Chelsea beat Benfica 4-1 in extra-time to qualify for the quarter-finals after a game that ended four hours and 39 minutes after kicking off, following a two-hour interruption due to a storm warning. It was the sixth time that a game was stopped at the 32-club tournament because of the risk of lightning. "For me personally, it's not football," Maresca told a press conference. Chelsea were 1-0 up when the players were asked to leave the pitch and play only resumed almost two hours later. "The game was very good for 85 minutes, then we stopped for two hours, and when we started it was a completely different game. It's not the same game because you break the tempo," Maresca said.
