
Severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.
The alert was issued just before 3 p.m. on Friday.
According to the weather agency, conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that could cause damaging winds and heavy rain.
Wind gusts up to 90 to 110 km/h are possible. A heat warning remains in effect.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms. Wind southwest 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h. Low 22 C.
Saturday: Mainly cloudy. 30 per cent chance of showers early in the morning, clearing late in the morning. Wind west 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h. High 28 C, humidex 34 C.
Saturday night: Clear. Fog patches developing after midnight. Low 16 C.
Sunday: Sunny. High 31 C.
Sunday night: Clear. Low 22 C.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for southern Manitoba
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for parts of Manitoba. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said Portage la Prairie and St. Ambroise are under the warning. ECCC said an incoming severe thunderstorm is capable of producing very strong wind gusts of up to 90 km/hour, heavy rain, and up to nickel-sized hail. As of 9:45 p.m. Friday, the system was near Oakland, moving east at 30 km/hour. Delta Beach may also be impacted by this system.
