An 11-year-old boy was wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in a park in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side.
Police said, shortly before 5:30 p.m., the boy was in Franklin Park, in the 1400 block of South Tripp Avenue, when an unknown person shot him in the lower back.
The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition.
No one was in custody Saturday evening. Area 4 detectives were investigating.

Six people died and two others are missing after a 27-foot boat capsized in Lake Tahoe on Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard said. The Coast Guard said the boat capsized around 3 p.m. near D.L. Bliss State Park. Six people have died, two were taken to the hospital and two others are missing, officials said. ALERTCalifornia cameras captured blue skies for most of the day before a storm system moved through the area around 3 p.m., dropping snow in the area before blue skies returned about an hour later.
