Davis would be 'an asset' to Rangers coaching team
David Healy, a former team-mate of Steven Davis with both Rangers and Northern Ireland, has said the former midfielder would be "an asset" if he were to become part of the backroom staff at the Scottish Premiership giants.Davis has been linked with a coaching role at Rangers should Steven Gerrard return for a second spell as boss.Gerrard is understood to be one of the leading contenders to take charge after Barry Ferguson's interim term in charge came to an end.Davis was put in temporary control of first-team affairs following the departure of former manager Michael Beale in October 2023.The 40-year-old was caretaker boss for two games, a Europa League defeat by Aris Limassol and a league win over St Mirren, before Philippe Clement was appointed to the position on a permanent basis.As a player, Davis made a total of 239 appearances for Rangers during two spells with the club."Steve has had the privilege and the honour of being in [at Rangers as a coach] for a little bit and I don't think it fazed him," said Northern Ireland's record men's international goalscorer Healy."I don't think anything ever fazed Steve as a player or as a person. He's pretty relaxed, he's pretty comfortable in his own tone and what he wants to say."If Rangers feel, when the new manager comes in, whoever he's going to be, feels there's an opportunity for Steve to go in. I think Steve would be an asset to have at Rangers, no matter who the manager is."Davis is currently part of Michael O'Neill's backroom set-up with Northern Ireland, for whom he won a record 140 caps."I know he's going through the process at the minute where he's going to do his coaching badges," said O'Neill."He's going through the process of learning and, for me, there is no better role model or apprenticeship than to be working with or in and around Michael O'Neill, who is an incredibly talented coach."

She also featured on Soccer AM, albeit fully clothed, and later entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2009. One Rangers fan took to social media to express his shock at finding out who Lucy Pinder was Pinder was discovered as a model on Bournemouth beach in 2003, at the age of 19, when she was working as a secretary. She is a life-long Southampton supporter, but will be cheering on her husband from Ibrox rather than St Mary's next season. Martin and Pinder went public with their relationship in August last year as she shared a picture of them together in Brighton, where Martin was receiving an honorary degree. Martin's relationship with Pinder follows the breakdown of his marriage to Jasmine, with whom he shares three children and who he previously hailed as a 'supermum'.

And Russell Martin 's arrival at Rangers has left fans dreaming of a return to the Scottish Premiership for the Nigerian international. Aribo is facing the prospect of playing Championship football next term after the Saints finished rock bottom of the Premier League - leading to his second relegation since leaving Ibrox behind in 2022. And Turkish outlet Fotomac now claim that the player has told his agent to find him a new club with Trabzonspor "asking" about the potential of a deal. And that could alert Martin as he looks to overhaul the squad this summer - who has made no secret of his admiration for Aribo. Speaking during their promotion-winning Championship campaign on midfielder, he said: "He's been a brilliant teammate, an amazing character as you know. He's humble, works hard, smiling. "I've not seen many players or teammates that are as popular as him, even when you're not playing, which is like the biggest credit to him, really." He has also noted how he fits his footballing philosophy perfectly, stating during his time with the Southampton: 'You trust him to go and put a certain level of performance on the pitch and to want the ball, to run for his teammates. "He's a brilliant teammate and I think he's someone that you trust.' A return would test Aribo's career mantra - having previously insisted he likes to take himself out of his "comfort zone". After his move away from Glasgow, he said: "I think for me, what's so important is the timing of everything. "I had some offers down south but I chose to go away from home, come out of my comfort zone - which is so important for your own growth personally. "So for me, life is about little steps to get to your goal and that's why I made the choice to go up there. And then why I came back to Southampton." I feel there needs to be a pathway for some of the youngsters to get some game time. Alfie Stewart, Findlay Marshall, Fletcher Boyd, Adam Emslie and Alfie Bavidge and obviously Jack Milne after his outstanding performance in the cup Some players do still need to depart. We don't really want any of the loan players back, and could do with moving Peter Ambrose on. Need a couple of strikers, a centre-back, left-back, a couple more midfielders and a good number Squad needs trimmed. A couple of full-backs and some midfield legs required.
