commercial space station
globally next year, has shown its keen interest in utilising Indian rockets to ferry crew to its orbital facility.
Vast's chief executive, Max Haot, met the Indian Space Research Organisation (
Isro
) leadership team on the sidelines of the global space exploration conference in New Delhi to explore potential space technology partnerships.

"We are interested in flying payloads in science from India. The other interest we have is the possibility of using Gaganyaan rockets as a transport service for our space station," he said in an interview with PTI.
Nasa established a five-year, unfunded Space Act Agreement with Vast in 2023, aiming to support the company's "concept maturation and eventual implementation of space station modules".
The California company Vast intended to deploy
Haven-1
, a single-module space station, aboard a
SpaceX Falcon 9
rocket in May 2026.
"Right now, we are on track with our launch for May 2026," Haot told PTI in an interview.
The Haven-1 spacecraft, with 45 cubic metres of space, can accommodate four crew members for typical two-week missions.
The facility includes four sleeping quarters, numerous mid-deck storage units for science modules, a shared space with a fold-out table and multiple crew interfaces.
"Right now, we are solely focused on the SpaceX offering, but we are interested to hear whether there will be a competitive, reliable, safe option that we can use to bring our customers using the Gaganyaan vehicle to our space station," Haot said.
With India's plans for its own space station, Vast welcomes collaboration with Isro regarding Haven facilities.
"Space is one of the most amazing collaborative fields in the world. And so, we are extremely open to ideas. Some of the ideas that were being discussed is, you know, maybe we can offer access to our space station but also get access to that (India's) space station and share capacity or share size," Haot said.
"We definitely see a lot of opportunities if, obviously, India and the Isro welcome us to collaborate, especially as our two countries are politically very friendly," he said.

HMDA plans new round of land auction at Neopolis in Kokapet
Hyderabad: After almost two years, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is gearing up for land auctions at Neopolis in Kokapet. Along with this, it has identified plots that can be sold. Earlier, the previous BRS govt had auctioned about 95 acres at Neopolis in two phases – June 2021 and Aug 2023. The state govt has already decided to go for land auctions across the state as part of resource mobilisation to fund various projects. Since there is a slump in the real estate sector, agencies such as HMDA and Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) have been waiting for the right time. The HMDA also wants funds for its various projects, including two elevated corridors – Paradise to Shamirpet and Paradise to Dairy Farm Road (Medchal) – and a greenfield radial road in Future City. "Of the 20 big land parcels at Neopolis, five are still available. If the state govt permits, we will go ahead with the auctions," HMDA metropolitan commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad told TOI. Budvel land auctions fetched the govt another Rs 3,625 crore in 2023. HMDA officials said there are about 2,414 plots available in 18 HMDA layouts, including ongoing layouts. While four major land parcels are available in Budvel, there are 41 open plots in Uppal Bhagat, 12 in Turkayamjal and 327 in Inmulnarva village in Rangareddy district. There are various layouts, including projects that were taken up under land pooling schemes, which have open plots that would be auctioned in the future, officials said. For instance, Lemoor, Thorrur, Kurmalguda, Bachupally, Medipally, Mokila, Pratapa Singaram, Bahadurpally and Pedda Kanjarala have 2,029 plots that are developed or under development. Sources said the govt will first go for land auctions in high demand areas in western part of the city, such as Kokapet, and continue if there is a good response.

Local Court Lawyers Up In Arms Over Shifting Of 34 Digital Courts
New Delhi: Lawyers from the district courts decided on Saturday to roll back their decision to abstain from work in protest against the shifting of the judges of the 34 digital Negotiable Instruments Act courts to the Rouse Avenue courts. The remaining proceedings and judicial work only would be conducted in the regular local courts, the statement said. "Necessary directions are being issued to all presiding officers instructing them not to insist on the physical appearance of any stakeholders, including parties, counsel, police officers, etc, in c+ourt," the statement added. On May 30, high court chief justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya inaugurated the 34 digital courts at the Rouse Avenue Courts complex to hear cases under the NI Act. Only judges of these courts will operate from Rouse Avenue, while the staff —readers, ahlmads and stenographers — will operate from their respective districts. The association on Friday, June 6 decided to abstain from work opposing the decision of shiftingthecourts. The digital courts deal with cases related to cheque bounces across six court complexes.
