In the years leading up to Garrison's sudden death, a rift formed between him and his father for several reasons. Kody reflected on these hurdles in their relationship in the wake of Garrison's tragic passing.
"It wasn't supposed to be this way, you know what I'm saying?" an emotional Kody told his wife, , in the May 4 episode. "It's just heartbreaking, and I don't...Robyn, I didn't get a chance to really just make things right. Just not being able to say goodbye."
"I just don't know what to do with his death. Because it's like I've got to do something different because I could have had more time with him, and I thought there would be more time."
Later in the episode, Kody spoke about his grief in the wake of Garrison's death.
"So many people have told me, 'Don't get caught in the what-if train.' I'm like, 'I'm going to because that's part of the process for me,'" he explained. "I'm going to what if, what if, what if to death. What if I'd called him? What if I'd have been in touch more? What if we'd have gone and done more?"
The bereaved father added that it "makes me feel connected to him to do the what-ifs."
As Kody further discussed his late son with Robyn, he wondered aloud, "How am I going to do this? How do I do the rest of my life? With every holiday and every birthday?"
He then made a heart-wrenching confession, telling his wife, "All of the frustration I had over the stuff with COVID and everything like that, all of a sudden, that's just like, it was so unimportant. I'm just sad. Sad about what would have been."Catch new episodes of Sister Wives at 9 p.m. ET on Sundays on TLC and the next day on Max.

Beloved Northern California music festival plans a comeback with new leadership, stellar lineup
After a year marked by uncertainty and loss, the High Sierra Music Festival is set to return for its 33rd edition over the Fourth of July weekend, bringing its mix of music and a renewed sense of community to the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds. The festival's future was cast into doubt following the death of founder and talent buyer Roy Carter in May 2024, compounded by financial pressures brought on by the post-COVID live event economy. But co-producer and longtime organizer Dave Margulies stepped in as lead curator, aiming to both honor the event's legacy and chart a new path forward. 'Our goal has always been to turn people on to new music and create space for magic to happen — not just on the big stages, but in the small, serendipitous moments,' Margulies said in a statement. 'From legacy acts to newcomers, the lineup is built to surprise and delight.' Scheduled for July 3-6, this year's festival will continue to showcase the signature experiences that have made High Sierra a favorite: multiple sets by featured artists, intimate sessions and spontaneous collaborations. Attendees can expect the usual eccentric touches — daily parades, late-night jam sessions, yoga classes and vendor villages — all set against the Sierra Nevada foothills. This year's bill features a diverse lineup of returning favorites and emerging talent, including Palo Alto native and bluegrass virtuoso Molly Tuttle, Bay Area jam-pop staples ALO, high-energy improvisational rockers Dogs in a Pile, genre-blending hip-hop pioneer Lyrics Born, and 17-year-old guitar prodigy Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge. Singer-songwriter Amy Helm plans to bring her Helm Midnight Family Ramble outside of Woodstock for the first time, and multiple members of the Trey Anastasio Band are expected to appear in a range of collaborative projects. 'High Sierra is a musical playground,' said artist-at-large Dan 'Lebo' Lebowitz. ' From intimate Troubadour Sessions to Playshops and full-stage sets, it's a convergence point where once-in-a-lifetime collaborations happen — and lifelong friendships begin.' New for 2025 are upgraded amenities, including the Lagniappe Lounge, a shaded indoor venue with lounge seating and cocktails, and The Happy Glamper, a premium, climate-controlled camping option. 'It's the most wonderful time of the year,' he said. 'People sparkling, singing, dancing, with hugs and parades and spontaneity. Just walking the grounds is an adventure. It feeds my soul.'

Ananda Lewis, former TV host and activist, passes away from cancer at 52
The former MTV veejay, model and personality announced in 2020 that she had been battling breast cancer for years and became an advocate for prevention, especially in Black women. Ananda Lewis, the famed MTV veejay, media personality, model, and social activist died on June 11 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer, according to a Facebook post from her sister Lakshmi Emory. Lewis, who hailed from Los Angeles, and was a graduate of Howard University, the historically Black university in Washington, D.C., got her start as a host of the legendary BET teen television talk show, 'Teen Summit,' which filmed in Washington, D.C., where the network's headquarters were before moving to New York City. In the late 90s, Lewis moved to MTV where she became a staple of much of the then-dominant music network's programming, from 'Total Request Live' to live installations for spring break and the like. Because of the prominence of MTV's programming at the time, Lewis (along with other MTV veejays) became celebrities on the music scene. After leaving MTV in 2001, Lewis tried her hand at hosting a talk show, 'The Ananda Lewis Show,' before moving on to correspondent roles for various networks, ensuring that remained a popular figure in culture and entertainment. In October 2020, Lewis shared publicly that she had been battling breast cancer for years. In a 2025 as-told-to for Essence, she broke down her journey and how her body had been reacting, positively and negatively, to various treatments, and how COVID had impacted her journey. She shared that at some point, she began looking for alternative treatments for her breast cancer as opposed to the traditional methods for treating it, and by January 2025, she announced that she was living with stage 4 breast cancer. In her feature story, she urged Black women to lean heavily into prevention through testing and learning their bodies. In that story she shared, 'We're not meant to stay here forever. We come to this life, have experiences—and then we go. Being real about that with yourself changes how you choose to live. I don't want to spend one more minute than I have to suffering unnecessarily. That, for me, is not the quality of life I'm interested in. When it's time for me to go, I want to be able to look back on my life and say, I did that exactly how I wanted to. We all have that right. I know I've done the right thing for me. It might not be the right thing for anybody else, but it doesn't have to be.' She was 52 years old. Lewis is survived by her son, Langston. Rest in peace, Ananda Lewis. More must-reads: R. AMC theaters to play longer ads in lieu of more-expensive tickets
The advertisements before movies are expected to get longer at AMC Cinemas. But it's to combat one thing. The cinema chain is joining major competitors in running even more commercials starting in July under a new partnership with cinema advertising company National CineMedia, USA Today reported. Under the deal, AMC will play commercials in the 'platinum spot,' the part right before the movie begins. The goal is to add revenue without increasing customer ticket prices as theaters continues to struggle financially and recover from COVID-19 losses. 'For the past five years, AMC has sought out crucial revenue that is not reliant on the increase of base ticket prices,' the company said in a statement to the New York Times. While AMC expressed it was reluctant to bring this to theaters, the company also said its competitors have fully participated for more than five years, without any direct impact to their attendance. It is unclear how long the advertisements will run and what kind of ads viewers can expect to see. Find your closest AMC theater here.
